After getting the location of Shalltear from Negredo, Ainz along with Albedo and Hyortr went to gather initial data. Based of what Negredo found, Shalltear was motionless in one spot. Neither she moved nor was there any movement around her.
This left Ainz confused as to if this was an ambush or something else, but regardless as the Guild Master, he was responsible for all the NPCs his guildmates had left behind.
---
Walking through the Gate, he soon spoted Shalltear, her head bowed down as if sleeping. Ainz noticed that there were no other presence near her. This left him even more confused than assured.
"Shalltear, Lord Ainz is here, won't you answer for what has happened?" Albedo asked, a frown on her face upon seeing the unresponsive Shalltear.
" Shalltear!! " Angry at the prolonged unresponsiveness, Albedo's rage increased as she screamed.
"Albedo, I believe Shalltear is currently not able to respond." Hyortr spoke as he approached the unmoving Shalltear.
Hyortr glided around Shalltear as he held his chin with one hand, as if checking a specimen.
"Interesting, It seems she has been Mind controlled." Hyortr muttered. His words didn't escape Albedo's and Ainz's ears as they perked up.
"What do you mean Hyortr? Doesn't she, as an Undead have resistance to Mind Spells?" Albedo asked unsure about whether Hyortr's assessment was correct.
"Indeed, but I have studied a few effects of Mind Controll in Ashurbanipal and her condition is similar to some of those." Hyortr spoke.
The 'studies' he claimed to have done was just his canon knowledge so that he could come off as a knowledgeable and wise being.
"Indeed, her condition is similar to those." Ainz agreed after some consideration. If any doubts had lingered in Albedo's mind then it was instantly dispelled by Ainz's affirmations.
"It is as you say Lord Ainz, but how could Shalltear have succumbed to mind control? How disgraceful." Albedo commented as she glared at the still Shalltear.
'Wow.... taking my credit and putting it on Ainz huh?' Hyortr commented internally as he saw how quickly Albedo changed opinions based on Ainz's words.
He now felt that the most dangerous person in the Tomb was Albedo, because of how predictable and unpredictable she was. Predictable because she needed every words of Ainz to the letter while Unpredictable because she also was prone to changing her views and opinions based on his unintentionally spoken words.
"But, I have a solution for it." Ainz, ignorant of Hyortr's musings lifted his left hand, a particular ring with three shooting stars engraved on it glinting slightly.
"Is that the Wish Upon a Star!!" Albedo spoke as she admired the ring on Ainz's hands.
"Indeed, it can grant...."
Hyortr blanked out the ramblings of Ainz's gaming nerdiness as he thought of how useful wish upon a Star could be.
'Although the spell didn't work on Shalltear, it was because she was under the effect of a World Item, one of the 20 even. So it was expected. But on the other side, what was the limits of this spell's wish granting was?
In the original I don't remember him using it anymore, probably because the ring granted only a 3 time use and he chose to use the remaining two for very important reasons. I believe there was a spell for it too but I don't remember it's specific requirements. Super Tier?
Theoretically, it could grant almost anything right? Can it produce resources not found in the New World but in Yggdrasil like the Prismatic Ores? Maybe not to that extend...'
Hyortr continued to speculate possible wishes but came to one conclusion, all the possibilities were already achievable by other spells, or his own power. Money? problem. Immortality? He already was Powerful? He could be said to be one of the Five strongest. What else did he need?
As Hyortr was lost in thought he was suddenly jolted by Ainz's hurried order for retreat.
Guessing that the spell didn't work and Ainz coming to the conclusion he came in the original, Hyortr stood silently as he saw Ainz kick the ground several times untill his Undead Status calmed him down.
"My Lord...what happened?" Hesitant as to why Ainz was so angry, Albedo slowly inquired.
"I believe I know what happened Albedo." Hyortr interjected as he explained.
"The mind control on Shalltear wasn't a flaw on her part or rather she was helpless against it. And the powerful spell like Wish Upon the Star's failure confirms it." Hyortr spoke as he turned to Ainz who had already started to formulate some strategy to deal with this.
"There are World Items in this world." Ainz sighed out as his red eyes dimed.
'How could I have neglected this aspect. If Nazarick was transferred here, then maybe there were other players before me, and along with them the possibility of World Items. But to think Hyortr had already guessed it? Did he deliberately chose to not mention it so that I could find it out myself?
Nonetheless, the primary purpose now is to deal with Shalltear's situation, I will think about the rest later.' Ainz thought.
"Let's return, I have a few preparation to do before I deal with this." Ainz declared as the trio returned to Nazarick.
-------
The situation played itself out as in the original, Hyortr didn't interfere with this arc because he believed that this plot was needed for Ainz to strengthen and cement his status as the Guild Master.
And to also give him a wakeup call that he needed to be more cautious and mindful of his actions. And also, not that he'd admit that Ainz fighting Shalltear was the only cool fight in the series because it involved strategy, risks and Super tier Spells.
The rest of the fights in the anime was lackluster for him because there was no fun strategy, high tier Spells, just a massacre.
That's why he asked Demiurge to make him a part of the Jaldabaoth plan. He had once found something fun during his testings with his skills and powers and was excited to use it.
Right now, he was gathered along with the whole Floor Guardians to witness the resurrection of Shalltear. The amount of gold required for her resurrection was enough to topple the economy of any world.
"Resurrect, Shalltear!" A red pulse spread from the Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown as the small hills of Gold dissolved into liquid, converging to form the shape of Shalltear.
Gold colour faded to form her pale skin and silver hair as she lay on the floor, asleep.
Ainz quietly took a sheet of fabric form his inventory as he draped it over her.
As Shalltear slowly woke up she was confused by the gathering of Floors Guardians around her while Ainz stood little back.
"Shalltear, how do you feel?" Hyortr asked.
"Me?...other than a slight headache, I don't feel anything out of the ordinary. But ...what happened? Why am I here? Why are you guys here? I remember being on a Carriage." Shalltear spoke.
"So you don't remember fighting Lord Ainz?" Albedo retorted as she found Shalltear's ignorance infuriating.
"What?!" Shalltear gasped.
As she took in the events that transpired from the Guardians, her emotions fluctuated. From shock, anger and disappointment.
Shocked at how She could have gone against her beloved Lord Ainz, Angry at hersefl for inflicting pain upon him, while disappointed at her capabilities, if only she had been vigilant.
"Ahh! Lord Ainz! Please punish me for I can't live like this, knowing I went against you! A great Sin I have committed!!" Shalltear pleaded as she knelt before Ainz.
"Stand up Shalltear, I do not blame you. Rather it was my shortsightedness that led to this. For that I apologise. " Ainz spoke as he felt that he himself was accountable for this.
"Ah~ You are so Kind Lord Ainz!! But please punish your unworthy servant. I don't deserve your kindness!"
Caught in a predicament, Ainz struggled to calm Shalltear who was adamant about her punishment.
'I am sorry Shalltear but I can't do It!!'
He internally screamed to himself.
