True to Coco's words, she went to the home of the mediators and knocked.
When the door opened, it revealed an ethereal beauty on the other side of it, making Coco freeze in her spot and stare at the man before her.
The silver haired man had a regal air about him, his silver tresses that shone with a metallic sheen contrasting against his smooth and light skin.
The man's face was a balanced feature, with a strong jawline and high cheekbones, set off by a slender nose and full colored pink lips.
His features were perfectly symmetrical and his eyes shone brightly, the teal color emphasizing his striking beauty.
Even his clothing was carefully chosen, the soft fabric of his shirt a deep blue that compliments his eyes and the bright hue a striking contrast to his silvery hair.
His entire presence was that of a god made flesh— his face was so beautiful that it seemed to rival that of a god.
"What are you doing here?" The third husband's voice was quiet, but firm, a passive expression on his beautiful face as he shot her a glare.
Goodness. Coco thought, blinking rapidly as she broke out of her daze, she couldn't check out Alhai's otherworldly appearance before because she was occupied with wanting to get out of the house, but now that she has a chance to check him out, he had left her speechless!
How can someone as good-looking as him end up with trash like Coco Hughes? He could have taken over the world of idols back in her world!
"Coco, you better snap out of it!" Lala cried out, smacking her human friend on the cheek, "Don't be seduced by him! He's not worthy of you, Coco!"
Lala's statement had pulled her mind out of the gutter, making her shake her head a few times to not let her mind wander back in her daydream and look at Lala.
"I'm not?" She raised an eyebrow at the fairy before her eyes widened dramatically as if she had just received a world ending revelation, "If I'm not, then am I lost cause?"
"What? Lost cause? You?" Lala shot the question back, but then, she gasped and pointed at Alhai, "I didn't mean you! I meant him! He's not worthy of you because you're out of his league!"
Alhai could only stand there, his hand holding the door open and standing in the doorway to not let Coco see the interior of the house.
All he could hear was a bell ringing from the fairy, a creature he wasn't sure how he could see, but that wasn't the most shocking thing he had seen today.
His eyes wandered off, from Coco's face down to her hands where he saw two sacks that seemingly had heavy contents.
"What are you carrying?" Alhai couldn't help, but ask, a blunt curiosity streaming through his voice which caused the fairy and his supposedly wife to halt their seemingly heated argument.
"What?" Coco murmured under her breath, confused about what he was talking about.
"He was talking about the potatoes and the tiger, Coco." Lala pointed out, she followed the curious gaze of the silver haired human and found out that he was staring at the sacks on Coco's hands.
"Oh!" Coco brightened up and smiled at Alhai, "I bought food for you and the others! I also have a bit of money to give to Zaque. Do you mind if I come in? Don't worry, I'll only put this on the table."
Alhai stared at the sacks for a moment more before he looked up to catch Coco's emerald eyes with his teal ones, "Just don't take too long."
"Thanks! I'm only going to drop this off, I promise!" Coco assured him, watching as Alhai moved aside to let her in.
"Just be quick." The third husband grunted out, his eyes narrowed at her and watched her waddle her way to the dining table.
She dropped the sack of potatoes on the floor while she dropped the sack of tiger's meat on the sink, both sack created a loud sound that resonated inside the room— alarming the people upstairs.
"Here's the money." Coco walked over to the door and rummaged through the contents of the bag.
She has separated the money she will give to the husbands on a small pouch. It contains twelve gold coins and three hundred silver coins.
If Zaque does distribute the money fairly then each husband will get three gold coins and seventy five silver coins, which in her opinion, doesn't seem bad.
She let out a hum and dropped the pouch on Alhai's open palm, the coins inside made a noise.
"Well, I'm off then." Coco stated, smiling at the third husband and walked past him. She didn't even wait for him to say something and just walked away from the house, a skip on her every step.
Seeing that she doesn't give a crap about him, he closed the door with a slam.
He had heard from Zaque that Coco Hughes isn't Coco Hughes, but someone else. How can he believe such nonsense after being beaten black and blue by the said person?
Just because she gave them money and something to eat doesn't mean that she's truly a different person!
No, she won't fool him.
She might have said those words to fool him and the other husbands, but they were smarter than that. They won't believe her nonsense just like that!
"She's ridiculous." The silver haired man uttered, opening the pouch with a frown on his face, "She can't be serious about giving us real money.. She hasn't lifted a finger to do any work around here. How can she—"
His words died down in his throat when he saw the shining glow of gold coins inside the pouch.
His beautiful teal colored irises went wide in shock, his pink lips agape at the sight of the money sitting comfortably in his palm.
One question remains in his mind.. Just how?
