"Goodness.. Isn't that old old?" Coco blurted out the words before she could think, making her eyes go wide further and making the old man squint his eyes further.
"What did you say?" The old man asked, his voice dangerously low.
"Nothing!" Coco was quick to save herself from the impending doom coming her way, the old man seems like he's quite emotional in terms of his old age.
"No, no, no.. You did say something." The old man insisted and furrowed his eyebrows.
"No, I really didn't say anything." Coco insisted further, not wanting to get on the old man's bad side when he was the only one who treated Coco Hughes like a normal being and not a trash of the village.
The old man got silent.
He knew that Coco should have known about his age because he had talked about it several times in the past. They were practically almost drinking buddies by how much Coco Hughes came over to the store.
