Lily stood up, holding several files in her hands, and headed toward Alger's office.
Knock… knock… knock…
"Excuse me, Sir."
"Come in!"
Without hesitation, Lily entered Alger's office and placed the documents on his desk.
"Everything just needs to be checked, Sir. If there's anything else, you can call me."
"Wait."
Just as Lily was about to leave, she stopped and turned to Alger.
"Is there anything else I can help with, Sir?"
Alger placed his tie on the desk and pointed at it with his chin.
"Help me put this on."
"But I still have a lot of work to do, Sir. I…"
"You're my wife, so it's only natural for you to put this around my neck. Or are you afraid you'll fall in love with me, Ly?"
Lily didn't answer, but she reached for the tie in front of her.
