As promised, after breakfast, Alger really took Lily somewhere. It was quite far from his apartment, so they decided to take the car.
During the ride, Lily remained mostly silent. Who knew what she was thinking? But did Alger care? The answer was no. He stayed focused on the road ahead. Maybe because it was the weekend, the streets were slightly congested. Many young couples were already out and about this early in the morning.
Lily, who had been quietly enjoying the ride, glanced at Alger and then at the watch on her wrist.
"Is it still far, sir?"
Alger shook his head. "Maybe fifteen more minutes, that is, if we don't get stuck in traffic."
"Where are we going, anyway? You haven't told me anything since earlier. And why are we bringing picnic supplies? Do we really have to go this far just for a picnic?"
With certainty, Alger nodded. "Yes, we do. Who knows? Maybe you'll remember a bit of our memories from high school."
"So?"
