The bar was slightly crowded, so much so that Lily, who had just walked in, couldn't spot Alger even though his car was parked right outside.
Lily scanned the room, her steps moving steadily through the bar. Eventually, she came across one of the staff members.
"Looking for a seat, Miss? There's one available over there if you'd like. How many people will be joining you?"
Lily waved her hand dismissively, her gaze still searching every corner.
"Sorry, I'm looking for someone."
The staff member nodded and left Lily standing there.
Her eyes continued scrutinizing the crowd until she spotted Alger being carried upstairs by two men. It was obvious that they were taking him to the upper floor, which was designated as a lodging area for those who were too drunk to go home.
She shook her head and began climbing the stairs.
"I knew it. Of course, Mr. Alger would end up dead drunk. Typical."
"Hey, wait!"
The two men carrying Alger immediately stopped and turned around.
