Angel walked gracefully through Alger's office lobby, occasionally offering a friendly smile to the employees who greeted her. She stopped in front of the receptionist's desk.
"Is Alger in?"
The receptionist, who had been focused on checking data, immediately shifted her attention and stood up.
"Mr. Alger is in his office. But I'm sorry, ma'am, if you don't have an appointment, Mr. Alger has instructed me not to let anyone disturb him."
Angel gave a faint smirk and tried to put on her best expression to maintain her image at Alger's office.
"I'm his fiancée, so I don't need permission to enter this office, right? Besides, I have business with Alger."
Once again, the receptionist clasped her hands politely.
"I'm sorry, ma'am. But those are Mr. Alger's orders, and I'm just following his instructions. If it's urgent, perhaps you could call Mr. Alger first to get his permission."
