Chloe Grant walked towards Lucas Morgan, stopped at about 0.5 meters away, and looked up at him.
Lucas met her gaze, his expression still pretty complicated.
Lily Grant watched them stare at each other, a flicker of displeasure evident in her eyes. But she still smiled and hooked her arm around Lucas's, as if declaring her ownership.
Lucas glanced down and gave her a gentle look.
Chloe only found it dazzling, biting her lip.
Lily smiled sweetly, turned her head, and spoke to Chloe, "Chloe, about today..."
"I need to talk to my uncle now." Chloe said, her tone rather cold.
She stepped forward, took Lily by one hand, and snatched the car keys from Lucas's hand with the other.
After shoving Lily into the car, she closed the door and locked it immediately.
Lucas frowned, trying to stop her.
Chloe hurriedly turned back and said, "I'll just talk to you for two or three minutes, don't worry, it won't be a problem."
"Alright, I'm listening." Lucas replied, putting his hand in his pocket.
Lucas's calm agreement left Chloe surprised.
She had thought Lucas would defend Lily like he did in the restroom, and certainly would not allow her to lock Lily in the car like this.
She exhaled softly, lowering her head, starting to feel somewhat nervous.
Suddenly, she didn't know how to begin.
She didn't speak, and Lucas didn't respond.
They both stayed silent like that.
As the second minute of silence passed, Lucas suddenly moved, shifted his steps, turned aside, just enough to block the car window and Lily's view.
His hand casually rested on the car, his body slightly leaning back, striking a comfortable and relaxed posture.
It was as if the restroom incident never occurred.
He was still the same easygoing elder to Chloe as before, discussing things normally with her.
This simple action by Lucas eased much of the tension Chloe felt in her heart.
She raised her head again, but could no longer see Lucas's facial expression clearly.
Chloe's night blindness was hereditary, quite severe, making it difficult for her to see in low light.
And just as Lucas shifted, he blocked the brightest light from across the street, dimming the light in this spot.
Not being able to see is for the best...
Chloe exhaled softly again, her fists clenched tightly at her thighs, as if she had mustered up the courage, she faced Lucas again and spoke, "Last night, in your room, you saw me, didn't you!"
The tone was assertive.
Lucas didn't expect Chloe to ask about this, his expression changed slightly.
Of course, Chloe couldn't clearly see the change in his expression.
"Yes." Lucas confirmed with a nod, "I don't know what game you're playing this time."
"And then?" Chloe suddenly grew nervous, the key issue was here, "Then what? Did you go to the room with someone else, in the end, was it you who left or the other person?"
After asking this, Chloe's whole back turned cold.
She anxiously wanted to know the answer.
Yet, at the same time, she was terrified of knowing the answer.
Chloe's heart was on edge, waiting for the answer, every minute, every second was agonizing, struggling.
After about four or five seconds, Lucas suddenly shifted slightly, adjusted his stance, paused for a moment, then said, "What are you talking about?"
