Chapter 29 - Knowledge In Smithing

Aziel turned around and spoke in a low voice.

"You know what? I can actually hear you both, so, your plan already failed before it get started."

Aziel told them with a teasing smile, and went inside the cafeteria.

"You. YOU JERK!"

Jake yelled in defeat, and together with Rocky, they follow Aziel inside.

As they went inside, smell of food made their mouths drool.

"Hmmm. This smells super delicious, I'm gonna eat all kinds of food they serve right now."

"You'll gonna have to beat me into it."

"You bet!"

Rocky and Jake dashed towards the food counter overtaking Aziel. As if they were not exhausted and the magic that Aziel cast wasn't affecting them.

"Unbelievable. Their energy wasn't restored but they recovered a little just by the sight of food. They're a lot like me guess."

Aziel laugh at the sight of his friends racing towards the food counter, and followed them behind.

"I'm loving the sight of you three, you always grab so much food, and it made me so happy to see that there are students still loving my cooking. So, thank you boys, and grab as much as you want because next week it won't be free anymore."

The lady serving the food smile towards them. In response, the three of them bowed down to the lady before going to their usual table.

"That lady's so kind."

"Yeah. You're right, Jake. Anyways, Aziel, she said that the food won't be free starting next week. What does she mean by that?"

"So, not only did you not went into the orientation, you also forgotten that we talked about it yesterday? "

"Jake, I'm asking Aziel right now, and my mind was all over the place yesterday so I forgot. And asking only means one thing, which is I didn't knew it. Are you slow in the head?"

"You…"

Jake smack Rocky's head for answering rudely.

"You know what? It seems smacking someone's head becomes normal to you Jake. Kindly, stop it, it hurts man."

"Next time you think about that first before answering impolitely!"

"Guys, you're in front of food. Let's continue this discussion after eating these awesome foods."

The three of them indulge in eating, as if they were starved for so long.

A few moments later and they finished their food.

"BURP!"

Everyone was looking at them after burping so loud.

"Excuse us."

Rocky apologize to everyone for their misbehavior.

"So, what does the lady mean by what she said, Aziel?"

"It means the food won't be free anymore. We students have to earn points if we want to continue living here. And you already know where to get those points, right?"

"You mean hunting those beasts? I thought the points were grades or something. Dude, how am I going to live here without getting any points?"

Rocky starts to breakdown as the thought of fighting those beasts began to resurface in his mind.

"Relax, dude. For the time being, I want you both to focus on training your body and magic.

Those points or whatever will be handled by me for now. The time that you won't fear those beast anymore will definitely come."

"How are you going to do that man? Can you manage? I mean, you are not exempted to those rules, right?"

Jake curiously asked Aziel.

"I will find a way. So you both can relax and focus on the training, but if I ever see you guys not doing training on your vacant time, you will be punished."

"What kind of punish is that?"

"No food for the day, and you still have to do the training!"

"Dude, you're being unreasonable with your punishment."

"Really? Then let's change it. It won't be a punishment anymore but a responsibility."

Jake was smiling until he heard the word responsibility.

"No…"

"You have to do the training in order for you to eat, is that clear?"

"Dude that's the same thing!"

"Jake, it's to improve ourselves, we don't have the right to complaint about it. Anyways Aziel, what kind of magic did you use earlier, and how does it work? I can't seem to feel it anymore, or maybe I got stronger in just a very short amount of time."

Rocky curiously scan his body if there's visible improvement, only to be disappointed on himself because he can't find any.

"Let's not talk about it here, there may be ears listening to us right now. Why don't we go back to the dorm, I'll take a bath first before we go to the library."

"Yeah, you have a point. Let's go, I wanna hear it already."

"Library again? Didn't we went there yesterday? Can I stay in the dorm after taking a bath though and train my body instead?"

Jake complains again before standing up from his seat.

"No, Jake. Today's different, and you won't be bored this time, I promise."

"Why? What enjoyment can reading book give? I might just fall asleep there rather than read."

"You'll find it later."

Aziel walks ahead of the group and went to the bathroom first.

After the three of them finished taking a bath, they head to the library to read books about magic.

This time Aziel didn't forget to bring his spear.

Jake was practically complaining about Aziel's decision.

"Why do I have to go with you guys?"

"Here hold this for me."

Aziel tossed his spear towards Jake.

"And now you're making me your personal assistant. Dude, stop bullying me!"

"Sigh. Could you please stop your complaining already? You're starting to annoy me" Rocky scolded Jake while walking beside him.

"Wha… Did hear that Aziel? Dude, is Rocky always this cocky? Looks like you're forgetting

something."

Jake clenched his fist as was about to smack Rocky when Aziel stopped walking.

Rocky and Jake bumped into Aziel's harden body.

"Ouch! Who made a wall in the middle of the hallway?"

Jake complained as he rub his itching head because of the force during impact.

"We're here. Shall we go inside?"

"Sigh! I don't really have a choice do I?"

The three of them went inside the library.

Aziel let the other two walk ahead because he wants to talk to the librarian.

"Good day to you Miss Librarian."

"Good day to you as well. I am Merriam Crux, but you can call me Merriam."

Merriam greets Aziel with a pleasuring smile.

"I just want to ask about the book section for sword smithing."

"Yes, what's your question with that section?"

"Can you point to me where that section is?"

"Of course."

Merriam happily guided Aziel to the book section.

"You seem happy Miss Merriam."

"Well, it was my first time in a long time to see a young man who's interested in smithing. You see, I grow up in a smithing family and making weapons became my hobby at a very young age. Back in my childhood days, everyone wants to learn something by doing it first hand, but kids nowadays just rely everything onto their professor. If this set up goes on, I believe not just smithing knowledge but all knowledge about anything will be forgotten and its records will become ancient. But since you're here asking me about smithing, it made me happy."

"That make sense. Thank you Miss Merriam."

"No worries, enjoy your reading."

Merriam left Aziel scanning the section.

Aziel wants to lend Jake books that he could read without being bored.

After Aziel saw few books about how to smith weapons, he immediately went to look for Jake which he found in the same spot where he slept last time.

Aziel dropped the book in the table to wake Jake up.

"What the fuck is wrong… with…"

Jake couldn't finish his sentence, and his eyes went wide when he saw the books.
