"Finally…"
Moss panted, her chest rising and falling.
Exhausted, but exhilarated.
The Ultimate Evolution she had long awaited was finally within reach!
"Big Bro!"
Just then, Agumon S's voice rang out.
It turned out that when Moss had broken through her limits, the DigiSoul-fueled punch she threw at Marcus had sent him flying out of the ring.
Agumon S quickly ran over to help him up.
"Healing Light!"
Moss snapped back to reality and raised both hands, releasing a wave of seven-colored light.
But this time—
Instead of sending the light directly toward Marcus—
The radiant glow enveloped the entire room, healing everyone within it—including herself.
"Is it over?"
Seeing Angewomon finally heal herself, Thomas knew that this battle had come to an end.
"I'll leave the rest to you guys."
Moss waved casually, tossed out a single line, then turned on her heel and left the training hall—not looking back.
She returned to the private quarters DATS had assigned her.
After shutting the door, she began unfastening the two belts around her waist, stepping toward the bathroom.
Removing her mask, ribbons, bodysuit, and boots, she was left with only her eight angelic wings.
Aside from those, she looked no different from a human woman.
"Damn, I look good~"
After admiring herself for a moment, she turned on the bathtub faucet, letting warm water fill the tub.
While waiting, she used the showerhead to wash away the sweat from her hair and skin.
Then, once the tub was ready—
She sank into the water, stretching out her long legs, completely relaxed.
"Mmm~"
She let out a small sigh of satisfaction.
"Well?"
Angewomon's voice echoed in her mind.
Moss pulled up her evolution panel and examined the newly unlocked Ultimate Evolution option.
"There's good news… and bad news."
Angewomon pondered. "An opportunity, but also a risk… What's the bad news?"
Moss sighed.
"The bad news is… there's a 90% chance of failure."
Ultimate Evolution was a natural part of Digivolution—unlike Corruption or Mutation Evolutions.
She hadn't expected her DigiSoul-driven Ultimate Evolution to have such a high failure rate.
Maybe it was because her fusion with Angewomon was an unusual case?
Maybe her chaotic thought process was interfering with her evolution results?
Or maybe this side-character Angewomon simply didn't have the same Ultimate Evolution potential as a main-character Angewomon…
Angewomon reassured, "Even if we fail, we could just become Numemon or Sukamon. It's not really a failure."
Moss raised an eyebrow.
Oh, really?
From a Digital World perspective, sure—Numemon and Sukamon played a vital role in recycling digital waste.
But from her perspective?
Turning into a pile of crap was absolutely a failure.
Besides—this time was different.
"No, this time, failure doesn't mean turning into Numemon or Sukamon."
Angewomon hesitated. "Then… what does it mean?"
Moss's expression darkened.
"Failure means… 'nothing.'"
"Nothing?" Angewomon didn't understand.
Moss explained, "It means complete data collapse—total deletion."
In previous cases of Corrupt Evolution or Mutation Evolution, failing meant she might turn into Numemon or Sukamon.
But this time—
Failure meant ceasing to exist.
"…Apocalymon."
Moss muttered a name.
"What?" Angewomon was still digesting the previous revelation. Hearing an unfamiliar name, she blinked in confusion. "Apocalymon? Is that a Digimon we can evolve into?"
Though she had never heard of it before, just the name alone filled her with an ominous feeling.
Moss shook her head.
"No. Apocalymon isn't one of our evolution options."
Instead—
Apocalymon was the collective resentment of countless Digimon who had perished in failed evolution attempts.
Seeing that Ultimate Evolution failure would result in 'nothing,' Moss was immediately reminded of the final boss from Digimon Adventure.
Angewomon shuddered.
"A Digimon made of pure despair? That sounds terrifying… Moss, we definitely don't want to become that."
Moss chuckled.
"Don't worry. Even if we fail, we'd just become food for Apocalymon—not Apocalymon itself."
She recalled that Apocalymon wasn't even classified as a standard Digimon.
It transcended the typical Digimon system.
(At least, that was the case in Adventure—other versions of Apocalymon might exist as a regular Ultimate-level Digimon.)
As she pondered this, she continued,
"But we're not going to fail. Just like before, I'll use DigiSoul Simulation Evolution.
If the result is 'nothing'—I'll skip the evolution and try again."
Angewomon let out a small sigh of relief.
She had almost forgotten that Moss could preview her evolution results.
"So… that's all the bad news?"
Moss nodded. "Yeah."
"Then what's the good news?"
Moss smirked.
"The good news is this…"

[ClavisAngemon: 4%]
[Goldramon: 3%]
[Magnadramon: 2%]
[Venusmon: 1%]
—
Moss grinned.
Four different Ultimate Evolution possibilities!
ClavisAngemon—
Though it had "Angemon" in its name, it was actually a warrior-type Ultimate Digimon—essentially an angelic magic knight.
It made sense.
After all, her DigiSoul-driven Ultimate Evolution came from hand-to-hand combat.
Goldramon & Magnadramon—
Two of Angewomon's classic Ultimate forms.
Goldramon was probably available because Moss had absorbed Dragon Slayer Magic, adding Dragon Factors into her data.
Magnadramon, on the other hand, was likely due to her accepting Yggdrasil's divine decree.
Without Dragon Factors or divine blessings, those two forms would probably only be at 1% probability.
And then…
Venusmon.
Now that was unexpected.
Venusmon… aside from being drop-dead gorgeous, she wasn't all that strong.
Her design was based on Aphrodite, the Greek Goddess of Love & Beauty—
Though, aside from her looks, Venusmon didn't share much in common with Aphrodite at all.
Moss almost couldn't believe she had the potential to evolve into Venusmon.
But when she considered the personality of this particular Angewomon…
Yeah. It checked out.
That evolution path was probably because of Angewomon herself.
"Alright. Now it's time to 'roll the dice'…"
She paused.
Ultimate Evolution attempts required Ultimate-level DigiSoul.
Which meant—
Unlike Champion or Ultimate-tier normal evolution attempts, she couldn't afford to do ten tries a day.
Moss voiced her thoughts to Angewomon.
Angewomon analyzed the situation.
"If you want to maintain combat strength, don't do more than one Ultimate Evolution attempt per day."
One per day, huh?
Heh.
Now that she had Ultimate-tier evolution possibilities, who cared about Champion-tier rolls?
She decided—
She would focus entirely on rolling for Ultimate Evolution.
Once she had secured all of her possible Ultimate forms—
Then, she could go back and work on her lower-level evolution branches.
Yep. That's the plan.
But for today—
She was spent.
Tomorrow—she would begin rolling.
