Aria's POV
As the sun dipped behind the trees, casting long shadows across the forest floor, we pressed on through the dense mist, our footsteps muffled by the damp undergrowth. We decided to find a way to get out of here before we became lost forever. It was easy to do that. My senses had been tingling since we left that cliff, warning me that if we didn't get out of here soon, it would be hard to.
"This fog seems to be getting thicker," Simon remarked, his voice was firm. As brave as he could be.
"Yeah, and I can barely see more than a few feet ahead," I told him, squinting into the swirling haze.
We trudged on, the only sounds the rustling of leaves and the occasional eerie cry of a distant creature. Suddenly, a low growl echoed through the trees, causing me to freeze in my tracks.
"What was that?" I whispered, my heart pounding in my chest.
"I don't know, but we need to keep moving," Simon said, his voice firm despite the unease creeping into his tone.
