Chapter 4 - Lunchtime Reflections

The first five classes had passed. During lunch break, our character pulled out his meal from his bag and began to eat while gazing out the window. Outside, students were playing football.

(Playing football on the first day of school? What nonsense. It's surprising they have such stamina in this summer heat. But I won't lie, they all seem like idiots.)

Behind our character, a few girls were looking outside and chatting among themselves.

Girls: "Oh my, isn't that him? Isn't he handsome and muscular?"

(Curious about the person they're talking about? Don't worry, let me tell you. It's Michael, yes, the one they're mentioning. Don't be surprised by the English name; I'll explain. His father is American, and his mother is Turkish. His father lives in Turkey, and they are rich. He's one of those spoiled rich kids. In short, he's like the male lead from a movie.)

Our character went to the restroom to wash his hands. Inside, there was a lot of cigarette smoke.

Jake: "Hey, look over here. Want a cigarette?"

****: "Ah, no thanks."

Jake: "Come on, take a puff. It'll wake you up."

Our character was washing his hands.

(Smoking generally seems stupid to me. Of course, that doesn't mean I'm telling you not to smoke. Maybe I just don't understand what those who smoke feel.)

Just as our character was about to leave the school restroom, Jake called out to him from behind.

Jake: "You're not gonna tell the teacher or anything, right, man?"

****: "Ah, yeah, I won't say anything."

Our character headed back to his classroom.

(Man? Am I really losing it sometimes? Why would you call someone you just met two minutes ago "man"? Is it a sign of politeness? Whatever...) *

As the last lesson was nearing its end and the bell was about to ring, the teacher made an announcement.

Teacher: "Students, we have planned a trip for next week for the new incoming classes and to help our school participate in more activities. Talk to your families and inform your class teacher."

The entire class was so happy that they started talking among themselves and asking the teacher questions.

(What nonsense. A trip in the second week of school? Am I exaggerating some things? Anyway, I'm not considering participating in the trip.)
