Emily's POV
When I heard that my mother sold my soul to Zarel before I was born, a cold wave washed over me, it felt as if the ground beneath me was being yanked, my hands were shaking, leaving me in a state of disarray.
This was because the only person to whom people sold their souls was the devil himself. So how then was this man saying that my soul had been sold to him by my mother? It made no sense at all, no matter how I tried to look at it.
But then one thing was sure: this man was a terrifying person who could not be trusted at all. After telling me that my soul belonged to him and that I was going to become his wife, I felt that he was a very dangerous person.
Although he had saved my life, he had no right to tell me everything he just told me.
