Chapter 23 - Chapter 20 'Plans'

Plans

---

Vael's POV

We sat in another room as Masaomi and Cleria came to terms with reality. It had taken them hours, but that was how this world worked—you couldn't linger too long on the dead, even if they were as close as family.

The two sat on a beautiful sofa opposite me. They were staying at my mansion since Cleria's home was now too traumatizing for her—too bloody.

I sat alone on the other sofa, with Umbra curled up beside me, sleeping. Mochi was in another room, probably playing. Garp and Yato stood behind me like silent sentinels

Third Person POV

"I know this might not be the right time, but let me introduce myself to you two again," Vael said.

His words confused Cleria and Masaomi. They already knew who he was—Vael Beleth, the heir of the Beleth Clan and a genius, considered the strongest of his generation.

"I am Vael Beleth, the heir of the Beleth Clan and also an unofficial general of the Underworld."

His declaration shook the couple to their very core.

"A G-General!?" Cleria automatically blurted out, the very idea absurd to her. A ten-year-old general?

"Of course, I knew you wouldn't believe me," Vael said with a slight smile. "So, I called someone you both know."

"Who is it?" Cleria asked again. Masaomi remained silent. He felt like he had no right to speak here.

"You'll find out soon enough," Vael replied.

Cleria studied him before nodding. "I think I believe you."

Vael smirked. "Oh? And why is that, Lady Cleria?"

"First of all, you're incredibly strong. Not as strong as a general, maybe, but still abnormally powerful… for a ten-year-old. And even your peerage—Yato and Garp—they're strong as well," she stated.

Vael nodded. "But that doesn't necessarily mean I'm a general, does it?"

Cleria shook her head. "No, but I trust you. And you have no reason to lie."

Before Vael could respond, a green magic circle appeared beside them.

Cleria's eyes widened as soon as she recognized it.

"Lord Beelzebub!?" she gasped.

Masaomi's face morphed into absolute shock. "Ajuka Beelzebub!?"

And just as they spoke his name—

He arrived.

Ajuka's presence alone demanded respect. He didn't need to flex his power for others to feel it.

Everyone instinctively bowed at his presence. Even Masaomi, a human, lowered his head.

"Greetings, Devil King Beelzebub," Vael greeted him with a formal military bow.

Ajuka responded with a simple, "Rise, General."

Despite already knowing the truth, Cleria and Masaomi were still stunned.

"Greetings, Lord Beelzebub," Cleria followed up, giving a noble bow.

"Greetings, Lady Cleria," Ajuka replied.

The difference in their greetings was obvious—Vael, a military bow; Cleria, a noble bow. And so, Ajuka responded accordingly.

Garp, Yato, and the familiars all greeted the Devil King in turn.

Ajuka's gaze didn't even linger on Masaomi, and the ex-exorcist remained silent, knowing his place. He had been saved by Vael Beleth's peerage—this was his second chance at life.

Ajuka took a seat in one of the single-person sofas. "General Vael will be taking the lead, as he is in charge of the operation."

Masaomi and Cleria, though unable to understand, simply nodded.

"Forgive my rudeness, Cleria Belial, but I will now present you two with a choice," Ajuka continued. "The decision is entirely yours."

Cleria nodded, while Masaomi wisely remained silent. As a human, he knew better than to interfere in a matter like this.

"The first option is that we send you to the Underworld, to your clan. It is evident that you are neither safe nor strong enough to remain here."

Cleria nodded. It seemed like a fantastic choice. She had planned to reincarnate Masaomi as her Knight, but as she remembered her peerage—her fallen comrades—their lifeless bodies flashed through her mind. Her hatred boiled.

She wanted to kill those responsible. Tear them apart. But logic reminded her of one simple fact—she was too weak.

"The only tradeoff," Ajuka continued, "is that you will lose all memories of ever meeting us."

Cleria sighed. She had expected as much.

"And the second option?" she asked.

"The second option is a package deal for both of you," Vael said, leaning forward. "Cleria, Masaomi, you are both incredibly talented. So much so that I want to recruit you into my organization."

"An organization?" Cleria's voice rose in surprise.

Vael nodded. "I can't tell you the details right now, but it will be a secretive organization—one supported by all four Devil Kings, as well as Mephisto Pheles and Tiamat, the Chaos Karma Dragon."

They both gasped. 'Those were big names. What kind of organization was this?'

"If you choose this option," Vael continued, "you two will be officially declared dead. Our organization will train you, and in return, you will serve until you are strong enough to take your revenge. Once the organization's goal is complete, you will be free."

It was an opportunity. A chance to enact their rightful revenge.

The two looked at each other, communicating without words.

Cleria turned to Vael, her voice unwavering. "We choose the second option. We need to become strong enough to take our revenge."

Vael smirked. "Very well. You've made the right choice."

Ajuka stood up, waving his hand as two green-light clones of himself materialized before teleporting away.

'They will handle covering the tracks,' Ajuka telepathically informed Vael, who nodded in response.

"Lord Beelzebub will take you to a certain place where you will train," Vael explained. "But before that, we need to understand why the Great King Faction and the Church targeted you."

Cleria hesitated for a moment before finally speaking—

"...King Piece."

Ajuka nodded. "So, that's the reason. I understand now. It's time to retrieve them again."

Cleria nodded, but Vael frowned in confusion.

"What exactly is a King Piece?" he asked.

Ajuka met his gaze. "It is an Evil Piece I created in the early days—there are only nine of them. Like other Evil Pieces, it has a unique ability. The King Piece enhances power, increasing the user's strength tenfold—sometimes even a hundredfold."

Everyone in the room widened their eyes. Even Cleria, who had known a little about it, was shocked.

Vael narrowed his eyes. "Then why haven't you given it to me?"

Ajuka simply smiled. "Because you're not ready."

Vael exhaled but didn't argue. Ajuka motioned for Cleria and Masaomi to stand.

"I will take them now," he announced.

Vael nodded.

Before disappearing, Masaomi lowered his head and shouted, "Thank you, Lord Vael!"

Vael merely nodded.

As soon as they left, Yato and Garp collapsed onto the sofa.

"Haah… standing for so long is exhausting," Yato groaned.

Garp nodded in agreement.

Vael stretched his fingers, then held up two fingers. "We have two years before we go kidnap two beings."

"Kidnap!?" Garp's eyes widened before he burst into laughter. "Gahahaha! I like it."

Vael smirked. "We're going to Rome—to capture two vampires. Two Dhampirs."

Yato and Garp nodded, their minds already shifting toward the training they would need.
