Chapter 16 - Her Progress

At the Shimura training grounds there was another person with me. It was the girl I recently "recruited" which more felt like a surprise adoption. We were out on the grassy frield and not the rough grounds as we just finished shurikenjutsu training.

It's been a month since she's arrived and there's been no problems so far.

If anything it's going way too smoothly.

"Guren, just copy what I do and make your chakra flow like a line connecting all the leaves." I tell Guren as she simply nods.

She was progressing exceptionally well.

While above average at shurikenjutsu, her talent is showing in the basics like the language, maths and history. Her normal intelligence is vast and probably translates to her actual Shinobi talent later down the line which is promising.

In her first shurikenjutsu training she got 0/5 on the five meter ones but they hit the stump. On the target was a red circle, with four outer circles.

Most if not all her shuriken and kunai hit the second to third outer circles which isn't bad by all means.

If anything it's great.

It took her a few days to do the Leaf Exercise to a decent level on control. While slower than me, she could keep the leaf on her forehead for a way longer time than myself when starting.

Of course this was due to her age but it doesn't matter.

Her average keep up time was an hour, while her rest period was six hours according to Bird.

Quite the decent chakra amount.

The three of my subordinates have been getting closer to me everyday as they start to talk back a little but not to the point of annoying me. Of course if I ordered them to do something they would comply without fail, but I won't do that untill in the future when we go on missions or in certain circumstances.

Right now at the academy, my [Shadow Clone] was attending and not doing much.

The first grades didn't have sparring unless the students requested.

Having no interest in sparring kids I avoided it.

While in the older years sparring didn't happen until the second half of the year so my clone basically just sat there bored. But hey at least the main body is actually training.

"Breathe." I say while adjusting her meditating position a little. Taking four leaves, they're placed on the forehead, both shoulders and her back.

She swiftly adapted quite well as last time the leaves were positioned elsewhere.

A few leaves fell but after putting them back on, she was ready.

'Not bad, she could probably start doing ninjutsu.'

I have been training and helping out Guren the most out of my three subordinates for a specific reason.

She will literally do anything I ask of her no matter how morally wrong it is, like slaughtering innocent kids. While that sounds a bit brutal she's basically obsessed with me which makes the job 10x easier.

This might seem like a stretch now but in the future I can almost assure this.

I've noticed this obsession throughout our interaction these past months and have decided to dote on her a little.

For Karin and Kabuto though they will eventually persue the same thinking as Guren in the future, but this won't be for a while as I don't want them to be mindless soldiers. It's the reason Danzo never had a "kage" level shinobi really.

Kabuto has had outside influence.

Karin has her mother to bring her back. While yeah the argument of killing Sumiko is there, her training with Kabuto's mother is starting to bear some fruit.

She's a medical trainee.

A person grows in strength better at their own pace with freedom. This can be taken the other way in certain aspects but isn't usually the case when training as a Jounin as hard work isn't really helpful to reach kage level. If you could become a kage level shinobi by pure hard work then there would be many more kage level shinobi alive.

Breaking someone mentally to your will is like restricting their creativity and thinking when trying to get stronger and in battle which is a bad thing and if I did this to Karin and Kabuto would be like a limiter and mental block.

"Shimura-sama, I can't go any longer..." Guren says with exhaustion written all over her face.

Snapping out of my musings, half an hour passed which further solidified her skills in my eyes.

"Well done, we'll practise tree climbing tomorrow."

Everything so far is going pretty well as I've hit a wall in training which wasn't expected but reasonable.

I've got around nine more years till shippuden.

There's no time like the present to train.

Pulling out a notebook I look over the specific notes I've made for [Wind Release: Wind Wall]. They weren't that fancy as I've had to ask around for some tips by Danzo and Hiruzen when he occasionally arrived to talk.

-----------------

Hiruzen Notes:

-Take a deep breath while having your chest out, arms out and not stiff.

-Have your head pointing upwards to keep the chakra in place, sort of like compression to improve power

Danzo Notes:

-Swirling your chakra while doing hand signs

-Don't force the wind out, let it naturally flow, naturally the more chakra put. The stronger, faster and sturdier the wind wall.

------------------

There were other notes I've gathered for the other ninjutsus, so my life was made way easier rather than trying to figure these tips out myself.

Swirling my chakra, I started to do hand signs.

Ox > Dog > Rat

At the end of this a compressing piece of chakra was felt in my gut. Opening my mouth the wind naturally started to form as a small stream left my mouth from me. Letting it flow out naturally it came to a stop.

*Swoosh*

Aiming it five metres away.

The stream of wind hit the ground, starts to go upwards and expanding a couple of metres outwards. Feeling the dangers of the wind my heart felt excited. Taking a few kunai and shuriken I threw them at the now fully formed wall at full power.

*Slash*

Piercing the air, the kunai made it to the wind wall and immediately got sent straight to the ground.

"Alright." I say excited.

The wind wall now standing strong, lasted over five minutes which was way more than enough. If I needed more time then more chakra could be used.

It originally took four days to get this type of progress. And after a break which is today, I took the time to perfect it. After the first week the rest of my time was spent on the [Shadow Clone Jutsu] due to its advantages.

But it was hard mastering it.

Having the bare minimum to use the ninjutsu, it took multiple weeks to perfect it to the point of being able to train using them.

Satisfied with this progress I finally had a usable elemental ninjutsu in my arsenal to show off.

It was now time to learn the other three walls.

After mastering Water Walking, it gave me enough chakra control to not need hand signs for certain jutsu.

Which were all the E-D rank Justus in my arsenal.

---

A young and handsome child was handsomely reading a paper as he handsomely sat on a chair while his handsome face looked lazily at the pages.

Handsomely...

This handsome kid is me!

The handsome part might be exaggerated but I'm quite cute if you had a look at my face. I'm currently reading a paper from the academy. This was sent to me today actually which is quite confusing as I don't know what it's for.

Karin has been suspended for a week for beating five students on academy grounds.

()()()

Looking at the paper I squinted my eyes a little confused.

But quickly realised this wasn't too bad.

'She probably beat up some kids up for making fun of her hair.' I think to myself grimacing a little. Her behaviour seemed sort of erratic and will need to change but she is still six, this can be changed later on when she either becomes a shinobi or is close to graduating.

I just chuck this up to being a red-head.

There would be no point doing it now for it would stop her already great growth in shinobi skills.

I believe there isn't much she could be doing better in her training besides using up more of her time to train.

She learns quick and paired with her talent, is doing gods work right now. The only thing holding her back is spending time in the academy which is something I'll let her do until she graduates.

Grabbing another paper but from Danzo this time, my expression shifts to joy.

This document was something I wanted for a long time now so I could gauge what benefits I would get as I increased my shinobi rank through the years. Surprisingly though when I get to Chunin and Jounin, Danzo will personally teach me five wind jutsus that I wouldn't mind adding to my ninjutsu collection.

If I recall correctly he was able to damage Sasuke's susanno which was either in its Humanoid or weakened armoured version which is quite tough. So these jutsus are not to be trifled with just because they are B-rank ninjutsu.

Ninjutsu:

[Genin]: C-grade and lower jutsu from the Shimura library

[Chunin]: B-grade and a select few A grade jutsu from the Shimura library

[Jounin]: Any available jutsu in the Shimura library

-

Note: When you reach Chunin I will teach you these five ninjutsu

[Wind Release: Vacuum Wave B-rank]

[Wind Release: Vacuum Sphere B-rank]

[Wind Release: Vacuum Serial Waves B-rank]

[Wind Release: Vacuum Great Sphere B-rank]

[Wind Release: Vacuum Blade A-rank]

This was given to me a few hours ago when my shadow clone came back from the academy. I just wanted to give it a quick read before going out Kabuto to just roam the village and eat some food.

--------------------

Knowing this information, I proceeded to train like a maniac for the next two weeks using my shadow clones. The limit of my [Shadow Clones] was two so far to be able to train for multiple hours a day.

As you could guess I get quite a lot of mental strain the more the clone trains for as he gives me more memories, which isn't all bad as I get stronger.

My current progress has been splendid as I've learned all the elemental ninjutsu walls I've originally wanted. This doesn't include any A-ranked ones, I also added a few more to expand my repertoire.

These ninjutsu include [Earth Release: Rock Spear] to protect myself from physical harm and [Demonic Illusion: Hell Viewing D-rank]. Mainly because I didn't know any genjutsu.

Thankfully my cheat sheet Hiruzen helped me like a lot being very knowledgeable.

A decent variety of ninjutsu I must say as it covers most of what I should be avoiding in a major battle.

The rest can be taken care of by my speed anyways.

With the academy half way point for graduation coming up I'll want either my clone or myself to go there.

Kind of how like Itachi instantly got noticed by the higher ups, when a kid tried to bully him and only broke his shadow clone. Complete melt down by the elders as they coveted his talent so much.

Other than that I've started to tap into Swift Release.

Still a bit difficult so I'll master [Body Flicker] to where it doesn't need a hand seal, before attempting to use my kekkei genkai.

"Common don't be slouches now, attack me." I call out to the beaten down duo.

I'm currently doing a 2v1 spar with Karin and Kabuto as they need some combat experience. Guren though will be sparring with Bird as she genuinely isn't able to hold a blade against me which is adorable, but easily exploitable.

'She must learn to dispel any genjutsu.'

My thoughts going to Sakura who saw Sasuke "die" from Kakashi's genjutsu.

Karin deciding to attack first feints a punch while going for a low kick.

Seeing this I simply dodge backward then right after attempt to punch her solar plexus. Karin reacting fast enough puts her hands up in a cross position blocking my attack.

"Kabuto I need some back up!" Karin pants out.

"I'm still recovering..." Kabuto responds laying on the floor, holding his chest in pain.

The battle ended soon after this as they couldn't really go on for much longer. The battle ended up lasting for over 7 minutes which is pretty impressive if you think about it. I didn't use ninjutsu or kenjutsu but they were able to last quite a long time against a high Chunin.

"Shimura-sama good job!" Guren cheers from the sidelines. The two hearing this had different reactions which amused me a lot.

Guren wasn't included to the fights purely because she refused to attack me in any way. Yeah maybe she has the same issues as Karin a little, but hey. I can't blame her too much as she's still a kid.

"Shimura-sama can I please get a break." Kabuto asks with an exhausted breath, holding his solar plexus.

'I might of hit him too hard.' I thought to myself.

"You can skip your next thing on the schedule." I respond.

Kabuto hearing this starts to get a happier look on his face.

"He get to skip maths." Karin murmurs silently with jealously and a hint of anger.

I mean she fought too why did this lazy ass get a break.

And with this anger comes dire consequences.

For Kabuto of course, seeing Karin's reaction Kabuto proceeds to make a sprint to his room trying to avoid the angry Uzumaki. The plan being to go beg Sumiko to calm down the now adjuted red-head in front of him.

'Why she mad at him?' I think to myself raising an eyebrow.

"Shimura-sama you must be hungry." Guren says as she puts my arm in a vice grip.

"Uhh."
