"Did you see how fast Funeno sensei was?"
Multiple groans and conversations could be heard around the training ground in the academy today.
Today is the day when we test our speed on the obstacle course.
It's more of a way to test our current standing for everyone. At break times, some kids would come here to play around or try the course.
Since my name was on the lower part of the list, I had to wait a bit before it was my turn.
"Uzuki Bob!"
Funeno sensei calls out right after the last student finishes his turn. Looking at the unfamiliar sensei I just sigh.
He was the fifth teacher I've been assigned to since I've been advancing through the years these past few months. My goal of graduating was getting closer and the only thing stopping me was when the first graduation tests would be held.
There are three every school year at the top grade.
That's why Naruto could fail so many times.
"Not bad..."
Looking at the kid, Bob gets a decent time placing him in the top 10 of the class.
His total time was four minutes.
"Raiden Shimura!"
Funeno Sensei calls out making some people gossip while others just keep on doing their thing.
"You got this Rei-kun!"
A fan girl says while giving me an encouraging expression. Seeing this a creepy feeling crawls up my skin as I realise my reputation was expanding. In the younger years, it would take a bit before they start to get crushes.
These 10-12 year olds already were like that.
Predatory.
Walking up to the start of the course where a new teacher who is currently in training called Iruka is waiting.
Getting on the starting line I wait for sensei to start.
"Go!"
Hearing Funeno sensei shout I quickly jump on the closest log within my range.
Having already looked at the course beforehand I use my chakra to enhance my body's capabilities to blitz forward and quickly go through the first obstacle area with ease. With my body more naturally attuned to speed it was quite a blur.
'Left, left, right..'
I think to myself while continuing on with the course.
"Two big jumps and then dash."
I mumble to myself.
Doing a big first jump towards the obstacle I do a roll to recover and then do another jump right after to the last sideways log.
'Faster.'
Using a little bit of my quick release I get past the second obstacle in quick succession like the last one and make it to the final obstacle.
'Fuck it I'll jump the whole thing.'
I say to myself as I generate some chakra in my legs.
"Here we go."
Using about half my strength I do a big leap upwards and land right on the other side of the huge wooden wall with rocks embedded into it.
"That's a record!"
Funeno sensei can be heard shouting in surprise looking at his timer.
"22 seconds!"
"Nice one!"
"He's a quarter of my height. How?"
"Raiden is so cool!"
Multiple students could be heard chatting loudly as they had just watched the fastest-ever performance on the shinobi course.
Funeno still in shock suddenly regains himself and calls out the next name a bit flustered. Of course, this was because he was unsure if he could score at the same time even as an instructor.
Being a Chunin, my skills were almost fundamentally on par.
It's just that my best trait is speed.
(Shimura Compound 2 hours later)
"This is so stupid."
I groan out loud.
For the most part of today, I have been trying to use the [Chidori] but because of the initial burns it gives your palms it's really not pleasant to learn. Sort of like Sasuke's early training, my hands are trembling in pain.
What a drag...
Unlike the [Rasengan] which I've completed the second step of, [Chidori] has to be in contact with your hands.
So far my progress with the [Chidori] is minimal as I clearly can't learn the move till I'm older which bugs me out a little.
I have the lightning affinity but it's useless if my body can't handle the stress.
'I should focus on [Rasengan] for now as I will want to use it as my main ninjutsu as the rest of my skill set should be used without seals.
My chakra reserves are now mid-Chunin which makes me eligible for using most ninjutsus which is quite nice. And the most important bit!
Starting to learn my kekkei genkai.
My kenjutsu rank is still at low chunin probably won't change until I get into some real action.
"This is so frustrating!"
I shout out loud in my house's backyard. Looking towards my left I see Guren who saw a little while ago, start to walk towards me with a basket.
"Master I've brought some snacks and drinks!"
Seeing Guren's excited face I smile knowing that she puts a lot of effort into helping me.
"Thank you."
Guren laying the basket down and taking a seat next to me, opens the basket and brings out a few pieces of food she made.
"I made these mini pizzas for you as soon as I got back from the academy."
Guren said bashfully and she held out her hand with a small piece wanting to feed me. Taking a bite out of the mini pizza I start to chew with a wide grin plastered on my face.
'I'll graduate tomorrow now that my abilities have been "fully" revealed to everyone now.'
This is the best chance I'll have at becoming a Chunin as fast as possible.
I've already planned most of my plans when I graduate with the next Chunin exams starting in Konoha in three months I'll be able to rack up some missions here and there with my new "team".
Or what I would like to call Danzos Genin squad, we'll it's not run by him but by his root subordinate as a jounin sensei.
He wouldn't forbid me from going to the exams anyway.

"I'm going to be graduating tomorrow Ojisan."
I tell Danzo with a confident voice. I mean I should be pretty much set to become a Chunin right now if not for the restrictions placed on me.
Watching the man contemplate a little, he nods to himself.
Confusing me a bit.
"I'll spread rumours of the new genius of the leaf with your obstacle course time. This should make it easier for you to gain fame outside of battle." Danzo says.
"When will you apply your plan for the Uchiha," I asked curiously.
I still wanted some time if possible to get the rank Chunin and join Anbu.
"It will take around a year and a half.
I'm also curious about what your plans are for the future."
Grinning at his words I start to think to myself.
'That's heaps of time.'
I should be able to become potentially an Anbu member if I do well enough. I have three future goals I want to achieve in the time span before the start of canon.
The first goal is to become a Jounin/Anbu as fast as I can. Not only will this skyrocket my fame which is always a good thing, but it will help me in the future when doing business with civilians.
For the second goal, this one is linked with the first one and it's to become a hunter ninja for the village.
The reason?
I want to hunt down Aoi Rokushou. He is currently in possession of the Sword of the Thunder God. A sword that made Aoi who was a Chunin at the time an A-rank threat.
That's in the leagues of people like Zabuza Momochi.
Fucking Elite Jounins and Anbu Captains.
The sword itself could slash through multiple [Rasengan] and a [Chidori] by itself, the only reason Aoi lost was that in the end he got overwhelmed and didn't train his other shinobi skills. Quite the ironic backlash.
It's the perfect sword for me to use before I try to obtain Orochimaru's Kusanagi in the future.
It was a sword also used by the very not racist Tobirama Senju, what else needs to be said?
This brings us to the final goal before canon, becoming a Jounin sensei for Karin, Asashi and Guren. You better believe I ain't letting some bum influence my subordinates, and if I can I would probably get a Root Jounin to reside over them anyway so it should be fine.
"As you already know, my plan is to be a Chunin as fast as I can with your root agents' help. I also want to become an Anbu member before you implement your plans so everything goes smoothly."
Danzo hearing this keeps his poker face but starts to scratch his chin.
"I'll be able to get you to an Anbu position with my connections but what type of specialist do you want to be?" He asks.
It was a valid question.
"I want to become a hunter-nin. The reason for this is that my skill set is extremely valuable for quick and stealthy kills. There won't be many or anyone who can match me in terms of sheer speed in the future."
Danzo hearing this writes down a few notes which make me squint my eyes.
Was he writing down my words straight after I said them?
I've shown Danzo all my possible reasons for his support now, there isn't really anything much I can say now.
"I'll agree to help you on the condition that you will help me in return as I help you."
He says making me slightly nervous as I've never been asked about something like this before.
"In Kiri, there's a civil war no? I want you to help the rebellion while gathering all the info you can so we can always eliminate them when possible. This in turn will also give us a secure alliance. I want things like their estimated total numbers and what their rank is, locations of important buildings like their academy and hospitals."
He says making me gulp. Isn't that a bit much for just a little help on ranking up in the shinobi system!
"If you manage to do this then I'll be on top of helping you give you a little gift of your choosing. You know of my plan already, I'll gift you a pair of three tomoe Sharingan if you agree."
Calming myself down after the roller coaster of information I start to think to myself.
'What could the possibilities be with that eye...'
It's not like I'm gonna shove Hashirama DNA in me anytime soon. So the practical uses besides getting Sasuke to kill me because of the eyes were pretty horrendous to be completely honest with you.
Wait...
'I can ask for only one, then steal Obito's eyes.'
My eyes physically widened in front of Danzo which gave him the misunderstanding of me wanting the pair. This is a winning situation for me anyway as this will help me get accustomed to "war".
Combat as well with multiple opponents who aren't behind a moral wall.
"I agree to take the mission but I want to be able to do things my way while there when supporting the rebel forces. Also, I request one eye only, with the other reward being to use to Flying Thunder God Sword for some time."
The term was quickly agreed on as he probably wants me to do the thinking.
This will give me more freedom to roam and spread my influence to others while maybe finding a subordinate or two there to "kidnap" if they are worth it.
'This will be fun, but I'll have to graduate first.'
