Chapter 8 - Let her go through the same pain

"You don't need to fret over this matter," Henry pulled away from Jamie almost too reluctantly and said to her with a ruthless glint in his eyes, "Since that man dared to touch what's precious to me, I will make him suffer through the same pain."

Jamie's eyes lit up when she heard Henry's words. Though she was upset and disappointed because she couldn't get her hands on the script that she wanted, Jamie still felt satisfied with the result of her plan.

If Henry were to retaliate against Mia in a manner that might completely destroy that woman, Jamie was certain that even if Henry's memories were to return, Mia would never accept him back.

Her eyes flickered with a vicious glimmer but she still reached out and held his hands. "You don't have to do that, darling. I mean—what Mister Wills did, has nothing to do with Mia. I don't think that this is correct—"

"Alright, you don't have to convince me anymore," Henry patted her on the back of her hand. "I know that you are a kind woman but I have had enough of the bullshit from the Wills family."

First, it was the daughter who married him through her dirty and evil actions and then it was her father who tried to ruin his beloved girlfriend.

Henry stubbornly believed that Toby's attack had something to do with him divorcing Mia.

Since that man was the one who made the first move, he cannot blame him for retaliating.

Henry's eyes hardened with a ruthless glimmer but he still suppressed it for Jamie's sake. He leaned down and pecked her on the lips just as always and just as usual, the feeling that something was wrong flickered in his heart, causing him to become uneasy.

But he suppressed that feeling and said to Jamie, "I will be right back."

He turned around on his feet and stormed out of the ward.

Once Henry left, the vulnerable air around Jamie shifted and turned malicious. Her soft smile turned into a smirk and she sat up straight on the bed and clapped her hands as if dusting off the dirt and grime that was sticking to her palms.

"Well, that wasn't too bad," she remarked.

"Too bad?" her agent, on the other hand, had other ideas. Audrey rolled her eyes and stated in a hurried voice, "You are the only one who thinks that this is alright. The reason we came up with this tactic was that we wanted to get our hands on the new script that Director Wills was working on. You think that this is fine? Do you even know that the concept of the script could have helped you win the Best Actress award?"

If someone were to question Audrey, she would say that this time they actually dropped the axe on their foot. The loss outweighs the gain completely.

"Why are you in such a hurry?" Jamie studied her nails and stated, "There is no way that old man is going to get out of prison any time soon; just ask your connections to deal with him nicely. Once he has tasted the consequences of offending me, I believe he will hand the script with all the bells and ribbons attached."

Jamie was confident because she had gotten what she wanted more than once. A lot of people refused her at first but once she was through with them, didn't they all agree?

Audrey parted her lips to speak; she wasn't as optimistic as Jamie but she also feared offending her. After seeing Jamie's means, Audrey no longer took her as a simple and kind woman who was just a tad bit arrogant.

She was simply unhinged and psychotic.

The last time a small background dancer offended Jamie, she went missing. Audrey had no idea what Jamie did, but she was certain that it was nothing but cruel.

On the other hand, far away from the ward, Henry was heading towards the parking lot of the hospital. He was determined to show Mia her place and identity. Just because he was being generous towards her and not pursuing the old feuds, that woman seemed to have become bolder.

He would be damned if Mia was not on board with Toby and his disgusting plan.

"Henry!"

However, just as he reached his car, he heard a familiar voice calling him from behind. He paused and turned sideways and greeted the man, "Ronald."

"What's with Ronald? You and I are going to be family someday. You should call me, Ron." Ron smiled at Henry and patted him on the shoulder. "By the way, where are you going? Shouldn't you be with Jamie?"

It was quite surprising that Henry was leaving after such an incident took place, thought Ron.

"I am going to find Mia," Henry replied with a scowl on his face. "I have some questions that I need to ask her."

Like why was she doing this or what did he need to do to get that woman off his back? Or whether she was on this plan with Toby.

He thought she meant when she said that she didn't wish to entangle with him anymore; only now did he realise that shameless woman was lying through her teeth to let his guard down.

If only he hadn't trusted her, then Jamie wouldn't have been hurt.

Upon hearing his words, Ron's lips curled up and he flicked his tongue over his bottom lip. He said to him, "Henry, Henry, Henry. You are being too naive, my man. Do you think if you go and confront her, she will admit what she has done?"

"Of course not, man," he drawled. "Not to mention if you meet with her, my cousin will be upset."

Henry frowned and questioned, "Then what do you suggest? What should I do?"

"What else, bro? Tit for tat; that's the law of the universe. You get what you put forth," remarked Ron with a nasty smirk. "Since her motherfucking father drugged my cousin and left her on her own devices, why don't we do the same? Drug his precious daughter and leave her to her means. Whether she survives this tragedy or not is up to her luck."

"If she escapes, it's her good fortune and if she is caught by a man, then," he shrugged casually. "Then she deserves it; what do you say?"
