"We should go find Hagrid now!" Ron immediately made the suggestion after calming down a bit.
"No way. Hagrid didn't allow me to look into this. And the professors don't want us to know this much either!" Hermione immediately retorted.
"Yeah, all we know is that Snape might be after the Philosopher's Stone. We don't know anything else," Harry Potter agreed with Hermione.
"Maybe we don't have to go looking for Hagrid. He might just come to us on his own," Light said, raising his right hand and pointing at a tall figure in The Library.
The three of them looked in the direction of his finger. A tall giant was walking around The Library somewhat furtively, as if looking for a book.
"Hagrid, what are you doing!" Hagrid, who was looking for books, was startled by the sudden voice. The books in his arms almost dropped.
"Harry Potter, and you guys," Hagrid turned around and saw Harry Potter in front of him and Light and the others waving in the reading area.
"As soon as Hagrid sat down, Ron asked curiously, "So, why did you come to The Library?"
"I'm looking for some information. I want to find out something," Hagrid said excitedly, putting the books in his arms on the table.
"What kind of information are you searching for? Maybe I can give you a hand!" Hermione said excitedly too.
"Are you trying to figure out how to hatch a dragon egg or how to take care of a baby dragon?" Light said, looking at the books Hagrid put on the table.
"Of course, both. Do you know? I've always dreamed of raising a dragon," Hagrid said excitedly upon hearing Light's words.
"So where did you get your dragon egg or baby dragon?"
"Of course, it was at... What dragon egg? I don't really get what you're talking about!" Hagrid stammered.
"So you managed to get a dragon egg..."
"Ah!!!" Harry Potter and the other two couldn't help but exclaim when they heard the news Light had tricked out of Hagrid.
"Quiet, the librarian is coming!" Light reminded them.
Harry Potter and the other two apologized to Madam Pince who came over. After seeing Madam Pince off,
Hermione lowered her voice and asked Hagrid, "What do you mean? You've hidden a dragon egg and you're going to hatch it."
"Shh! Don't tell anyone. If others find out, the poor little thing will be taken away. It's still so small. It's just an egg," Hagrid pleaded.
"But if someone finds out that you're trying to hatch a dragon egg, you'll be sent to Azkaban," Hermione said anxiously.
"No, don't do this! We're best friends," Hagrid said, looking at Light and the other four with teary eyes.
"Well, there's nothing we can do. We'll go over tonight to see what's going on. See if we can figure something out!" Light and the other three discussed and then said to Hagrid.
"Really? I'll wait for you tonight. Come straight to my place," Hagrid almost jumped for joy upon hearing this and invited the four of them to his home.
"Is this all right?" Hermione asked worriedly.
"It's okay. It's just an egg! What could possibly go wrong!" Light said casually.
The four of them finally managed to wait until nightfall. They quietly sneaked out of the castle and ran towards Hagrid's hut.
The four of them followed the path overgrown with weeds to Hagrid's dwelling.
Light stepped forward and knocked on the door. Harry Potter and the other two were acting as if they were up to something sneaky, looking around furtively.
"Who is it! You're here, come in quickly!" Hagrid opened the door just a crack. When he saw the four of them, he opened the door wide.
As soon as he entered the door, Light felt waves of heat hitting him.
Harry Potter and Ron frowned, looking uncomfortable, and Hermione also looked like she was having trouble breathing.
"Why is it so hot in here!" Harry Potter asked Hagrid. Ron, sweating buckets, nodded in agreement.
"Dragon eggs need to be incubated at a relatively high temperature. So there really is a dragon egg!" Hermione explained and then exclaimed in disbelief.
"Hahaha! Yes! It's here." Hagrid pointed to a dark egg on the blazing fire in the stove.
"Is this the dragon egg? Can I touch it?" Light purposefully moved closer to the stove and asked Hagrid.
"Sure, but be careful not to get burned. The dragon egg needs to be kept at a high temperature until it hatches." Hagrid scratched his head and said glumly.
"Just a little touch!" Light cast an Iron Armor Charm on himself and then reached out towards the dragon egg in the fire. The shell of the dragon egg wasn't very hot, just a bit warm. Maybe the heat was absorbed.
'What a pity. No Mileage Points,' Light thought ruefully as he pulled his hand back.
"Hagrid, can you tell us how you got this dragon egg?"
As Harry Potter and the other two moved closer to the stove to check out the dragon egg, upon hearing Light's question, they all looked up at Hagrid simultaneously.
"Of course I won it! Just some time ago, when I was playing cards with a stranger in the pub, he lost to me." Hagrid said, looking as straightforward as ever and extremely proud.
"Did that person have any distinctive features? Was he very interested in the The Three-Headed Dog you raised?" Light asked pointedly.
"Seems like it, but who wouldn't be interested! That's a The Three-Headed Dog. How often does one get to see one." Hagrid looked bemused.
"Did you tell him what Fluffy likes and what it's afraid of?" Hermione also caught on.
"I had a bit to drink at that time and told him that Fluffy loves listening to music the most. As long as there's music, Fluffy will fall asleep." A panicked look began to cross Hagrid's face as he realized he might have let something slip.
"Who was that person?" Harry Potter pressed nervously.
"I don't know who he is. I remember he was wearing a black robe and I couldn't see his face clearly. I vaguely remember his voice was really hoarse, not like a normal person's voice." Hagrid realized the seriousness of the problem.
"It must be Snape. We saw him limping before. He not only wants to harm Harry Potter but also wants to get the Philosopher's Stone." Ron was as excited as a detective who'd cracked the case.
"The Philosopher's Stone? How do you know about that?" Hagrid looked completely disbelieving.
"You don't seriously think you're good at keeping secrets, do you!" Hermione retorted.
"Listen, the matter of the Philosopher's Stone has nothing to do with you. Dumbledore will handle it." Hagrid said very seriously to the four of them.
Light nodded, indicating that these important matters would be handled by the professors and they didn't have to worry.
"No way. We told Professor McGonagall before. They didn't believe us at all and weren't on their guard at all. Now, not only that, but they also know Fluffy's weakness. The Philosopher's Stone is in serious danger now."
Harry Potter persuaded them anxiously.
"Then let's go to the headmaster. He must be able to solve it." After thinking for a while, Hermione came up with the best solution for now.
This proposal was agreed to by everyone except Light.
"This is indeed the best solution, provided the headmaster himself has no problems. I don't want to play games with old Dumbledore any longer." Light sighed secretly.
"I'd better not go. The dragon egg is more appealing to me. You guys go!" Light found an excuse to decline.
"No way. Let's go together!" Light was dragged by the three of them toward the headmaster's office.
