Chapter 45 - Chapter 45 The Owl

After dinner, in the Gryffindor common room. The warm yellow light illuminated everyone resting and chatting here.

"Harry Potter, is your owl free? I want to borrow it to do something for me!" Light asked Harry Potter while he was playing wizard chess.

"Sure, I don't have anything for it to do at the moment! What do you need Hedwig to do for you?" Harry Potter replied casually, his eyes fixed on the chessboard.

"Snape casually mentioned earlier that someone was hunting unicorns in the Forbidden Forest. I'm worried that Hagrid might be in danger!"

"Hagrid gave you Hedwig. It should be more sensitive." Light casually blamed the news source on Professor Snape. Anyway, Harry Potter wouldn't go to him to confirm.

"Okay! Wait, Hagrid's in danger!" Harry Potter didn't care at first, but then he realized something. He almost jumped up.

"No, I've got to go now!" With that, Harry Potter stood up.

"Take it easy. Write to Hagrid first and ask if there really is such a thing!" Light quickly pushed Harry Potter, who was on the verge of standing up, back into the chair.

"Moreover, the poachers just succeeded! There shouldn't be any problems for the next couple of days! Write to Hagrid first. Don't rush."

"Yeah, Light's right. And the heads of the houses already know about this. They can handle it! Let's not cause them any more trouble." Hermione flipped through her book without looking up as she admonished Harry Potter.

"But...! Alright, I'll go back and write to Hagrid first!" Harry Potter gritted his teeth, stood up with a bang, and quickly left the common room.

Ron, sitting opposite Harry Potter, frowned as he looked at the wizard chess game he was about to win. He felt that something was wrong.

"Light, do you want to play an exciting game of wizard chess?" Ron blinked at Light.

"No, I'm not very good at wizard chess. You can wait until Harry Potter finishes writing the letter!" Light waved his hand to decline.

"Harry Potter won't be back that soon. Hermione, do you want to play a game?" Seeing that Light refused, Ron invited Hermione instead.

"No. I still have to review today's lessons and preview tomorrow's. You should be like me..." Hermione declined Ron's invitation and mumbled about giving Ron a study pack.

After a while

"So, how's it going, Harry Potter?" Light closed the book in his hand and watched Harry Potter sit down opposite Ron.

"I've finished writing and sent it to Hagrid. I also told Hedwig to stay there until she gets a reply and keep an eye on the situation." Harry Potter looked worried.

"Don't worry. Hagrid probably won't reply tonight. After all, he has to look for clues about the poachers."

"Ron's been waiting for you for a long time. You should stay with him!" After knowing that the owl would help monitor, Light continued to read his book.

"Harry Potter, let's play another exciting wizard chess game!" Ron set up the chess pieces and started waiting for Harry Potter to set up his pieces.

"Light, where did you get this book? I've never seen it before!" Harry Potter asked curiously as he set up the pieces, looking at the book in Light's hand.

"Some experimental materials that Snape gave me. Without his permission, I can't show them to others." Light directly dispelled Hermione's impulse to take a look.

Hearing Light mention Snape, Harry Potter and Ron couldn't help but look up and exchange a glance, as if worried about something.

Light didn't notice. His eyes never left the 'book' in his hand.

The 'book' in his hand actually originated from Professor Snape's experimental materials. Light copied them anew and disguised them as a book. One has to use the Revealing Charm to see the content.

Light reread the materials provided by Professor Snape. Thanks to the improvement of his Dark Magic talent, he saw more and realized more sinister applications.

"It seems that Voldemort really came up with the method of mending his soul on his own!"

"The Dark Magic resurrection spell he used later was probably enhanced by him too! Otherwise, it's too easy. The whole ritual is too crude!"

"Bone of the father, flesh of the servant, blood of the enemy! All these were secretly set up under the watchful eye of Headmaster Dumbledore. Even in an incomplete state, he could almost resurrect perfectly."

"Voldemort also doubles as a top - notch evil scientist. It seems he's not as easy to handle as we thought!"

"I probably have a clue about the way to mend the soul and the resurrection ritual!"

"It seems my accumulation and Dark Magic talent are a bit worse than Voldemort's, but not by much."

Light closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose. After relieving his fatigue, he noticed that there weren't many people in the common room.

Seeing this, Light closed the book. After Harry Potter and Ron finished their chess game, the three said goodbye to Hermione.

Not long after Light returned to the dormitory, he saw an owl flying back with a letter in its beak.

"Hedwig," Harry Potter happily went to take the letter it brought.

"What did Hagrid say? Do we need to help?" Light took out some snacks and fed the owl while stroking it.

Harry Potter opened the letter, and Ron also squeezed over to read it together.

"Hagrid said that there were indeed unicorns killed, and he told Dumbledore too! But he didn't find any clues. The only thing he knows is that someone killed the unicorn and only took its blood."

"He also told us not to worry. He will keep patrolling until he catches that damned poacher."

After Harry Potter finished reading the letter, he handed it to Light. "Light, what do you think?"

"I'm sitting here looking at it!" Light took the letter and handed the owl in his hand to Harry Potter. While secretly grumbling to himself, he opened it to read.

"I think we should still get Hedwig to help and keep a closer eye on the Forbidden Forest. Since the poacher managed to kill a unicorn, it's very likely that Hagrid won't be able to track him down at all." Light frowned as he looked at the letter.

"Why?" Harry Potter asked Light in confusion while feeding Hedwig. Ron also stopped teasing the owl and looked at Light.

"The unicorn is a spirit of nature and is also blessed. It possesses powerful Magic Power and good luck."

"It also has the power of Curses. Taking its blood without consent will curse the person, leaving them half - dead and their soul horribly tormented."

"The person who managed to kill it must have extraordinary methods. There must be a conspiracy behind this!" Light held the letter and explained to Harry Potter and Ron.

After hearing Light's explanation, Harry Potter and Ron were also very puzzled.

In such a thankless situation, who else would go after a unicorn?

"Could it be Snape? He can brew potions. Is there any way to brew some terrifying potion with unicorn blood?" Ron's imagination ran wild and he came to a wonderful conclusion.

"It's possible!" Harry Potter's eyes lit up when he heard Ron's idea!

Light looked completely confused as he watched the two who thought they had the right answer!

He couldn't help but complain, "You can even link this to Professor Snape. Don't just blame every bad thing on him! Although he really doesn't seem like a good person."
