"Thank you very much Lamar for introducing us to the shopkeep. If it weren't for you, out party rankight have reduced from D to E." Clyde profusely thanking Lamar. Lamar smile and pats Clyde shoulder "Don't mention it brother, the shopkeep also once saved me from despair as well. I'm just passing my luck forward to repay the shopkeep."
After the two talk for a more minutes, the separate ways as the party is going to the townhall to accept the quest. "Mr. Clyde, here are the paperworks for this quest. Just a reminder, if the quest fails not only you would be sanction for a penalty, your party rank will go down as well. Is this conditions are clear?" Said the receptionist, Clyde nodded and signed on the paperworks to accept the quest. "We have successfully processed the paperworks for you, here's the dungeon pass and i wish you a good hunt Mr. Clyde." The receptionist bows. Clyde took the pass and went out to go to the dungeon with his party members.
As they make their way to the dungeon, they are still discussing the strategies that they can employ for any scenarios that might occur inside especially, the worst case scenarios. Once they are at the entrance pf the dungeon, the showed the pass to the guards and they let them in and wished them good luck.
"Kido and Elise, please do some advance scouting. Vince, cast Iron wall and wind boost on both." Clyde instructed. Vince cast the said spells and the two began their scouting of the dungeon. After a few minutes of waiting, Elise and Kido are back from scouting. Elise looked pale and Kido has few shallow cuts which made Clyde frown. "What happen?" Clyde asked. Kido spoke first "I encounter a lonely earthen wolf and when I cast my tracking skill to the wolf, it notices me and attack me. Luckily, I was abit far hence I only have shallow cuts and bruises." Clyde nodded and look at Elise "I encounter an earthen wolf as well however, this wolf is being stalked by a shadowtooth leopard hence I decided to retreat. And when I was about to retreat, the shadowtooth leapard notice me and I use my life saving skill to escape." fear can be seen on the two party members when they heard that Elise encounter a shadowtooth leopard. Clyde think for a moment and told them that they would proceed to hunt the wolf that Kido encounter. Everyone agreed and they move towards the wolf that Kido set upal a tracking skill.
After walking a few minutes, they saw the wolf that Kido tracked and beside the wolf, another earthen wolf was seen. "Alright, there are two earthen wolf. Just like what we discussed earlier, Elise will distract one of the wolf and kite it away from the other wolf with her arrows. Kido will find an opportunity to ambush that wolf and Vince will finish off the wolf with his windblade while I hold back the other wolf. Is this clear for everyone?" Clyde provided the plan to hunt the wold and everyone nodded. "On my go, 3... 2... 1... GO!" Clyde started the hunt and raises his shield and sprint towards to one of the wolf "Bull's rush!"
BANG!!
One he wolf was staggered, as the other wolf was startled by the attack, it immediately recover and was about to pounce to Clyde. "Oh no you don't! Piercing arrow!" Elise releases her arrow with a swish, it hit the eye of the wolf. "Nice shot Elise!" Clyde gave a thumbs up to Elise. Wolf's aggro was with Elise and it immediately run towards to Elise to pounce on her but suddenly "Bloody stab!"
Squelch!
A gushing wound appear at the side of the wolf. Kido appear at the side of the wolf and quickly disappear. The wolf was hurt and confuse on what had happen but before it could think, it felt that a sudden gust wind was coming at him "Wind blade!" Vince finished casting his spell and before the wolf could react, it's head was decapitated by the spell.
"Good job guys! Now a little help here! " Clyde said. After a few more second of battling, they were able to hunt two earthen wolf. "Whew! Good job guys! We are able to hunt the wolves, now we only need to hunt one more to finish the quest. I really have a good feeling about this!" Clyde laugh as he chug the endure potion. "How's are our gains Kido?" Elise asked Kido after butchering the two wolves " we currently have two fang which is used for proof of the hunt, 2 hearts which are in good condition and we can sell them for a good 150 silvers each, 3 pounds of wolf meat and two pelt that we can sold for 120 each." Kido summarize the gains. "Not bad! How's our supply Vince?" Clyde inquire "we still have 2 more endure potion and a mana potion." Vince replied. Clyde nodded "alright, let's get some rest for now, set up camp and let's hunt the other wolf after a good rest."
Everyone agreed and each of them prepare their own sleeping tent while Clyde created the camp fire and tend to the food for the party. For dinner, Clyde prepared a wolf stew with the wolf meat that they just acquired and some vegetables with a hard bread. As they are eating they also discussed their plan and strategies for the last wolf. As they say, it's better be safe than sorry. As the night deepens, Kido prepared the beast repellant powder and scatter it around and after scatteing the powder, Clyde instruct them to sleep and he will take the first half to be on guard duty. They agreed and the next one that will be on guard will be Kido followed by Elise and Vince.
After an hour or two taking on guard duty, Clyde was tending on the fire and was about to doze off then suddenly, something pat on his shoulder, he was startled awake and saw it was Kido "You are giving a heart attack Kido, please speak if you are there!" Clyde laugh out his shock.
Not far from the camp fire, a shadow was lingering with Yellow eyes staring at the camp. Blood was dripping on it's fang and a malicious intent can be seen on it's eyes waiting for an opportunity to hunt it's prey.
