Sera
...
Serafina walked into the auditorium with Chloe, laughing and chatting. As they made their way to their seats, Chloe whispered to Serafina not to sit in the front row.
"Those seats are for the elite students, like Alicia and her friends, and the Descendants," Chloe explained.
Serafina smiled. "Good thing I don't really like sitting in the front."
They found their seats and sat down, just as the principal, Mrs. Feder, took the stage.
"Welcome, students, to the new academic year," Mrs. Feda began. "I trust you all had a wonderful summer break. As you know, we have a new student joining us this year.
Please welcome Serafina Katsuragi, who has joined our community without going through the usual admission process, but she should be welcomed nonetheless she has great potential and I want you all to show her the good of Zena."
The room fell silent, with all eyes on Serafina. She felt a surge of nervousness, but Chloe's reassuring smile helped calm her down.
Mrs. Feda continued, "As some of you may know, Serafina has been assigned to Ace Black, one of our most prestigious houses. I would like to ask the Descendants to take Serafina under their wing and show her the ropes."
Serafina's eyes met Xavier's, and she felt a flutter in her chest. She made a mental note to talk to him later.
Mrs. Feda went on to discuss the upcoming first-year training, which would take place at the end of the year. "This is a crucial part of our curriculum, where you will be tested on your magical abilities and your worth as a student of this academy."
As Mrs. Feda finished her speech, Chloe tapped Serafina's arm. "Time to go, we have our first class."
Serafina gathered her belongings and said goodbye to Chloe. She checked her iPad for her schedule and headed to her first class, "Advanced Fire Manipulation."
As she entered the classroom, she was struck by the beauty of the professor, an elf with long, white hair. The professor's piercing gaze made Serafina feel uneasy, but she took a deep breath and sat down at the back of the classroom.
To her surprise, the blue-haired boy from earlier walked in and sat down beside her. She felt a flutter in her chest as their eyes met.
The professor began her lesson, but Serafina found it hard to focus. She was distracted by the boy's mesmerizing eyes and the fact that Stephanie, one of the elite students, was staring at her with a mixture of curiosity and hostility.
As the lesson progressed, the boy turned to Serafina and asked, "Why are you writing all this down?"
Serafina replied, "When I write it down, I memorize it quickly."
The boy was impressed. "That's a dope skill."
Serafina smiled and blushed, feeling a spark of connection with the boy.
"I'm Aiden," he said, smiling back at her.
"I'm Serafina Katsuragi, but Sera for short," she replied, feeling a shiver run down her spine as he said her name.
As they continued to chat, Serafina noticed that the rest of the class was staring at them. The professor, Miss Katrina, called out to them, "Please focus on the lesson."
Serafina apologized and tried to pay attention, but she couldn't help sneaking glances at Aiden.
Miss Katrina asked Serafina a question about the supernatural world, and Serafina hesitated, not wanting to draw attention to herself.
"I just got here yesterday, I don't really know much," Serafina replied, trying to downplay her ignorance.
The class erupted in laughter, and Miss Katrina smiled. "Well, let's start with the basics, then. The supernatural world has its roots in ancient mythology, specifically with the Asian God, Ryujin."
"The Dragon God of the Sea, is said to have created the supernatural world and all its creatures," Miss Katrina explained.
As the lesson progressed, Serafina found herself becoming more and more engaged. She was fascinated by the stories of the supernatural world and its many creatures.
Aiden, sensing her interest, leaned over and whispered, "Hey, want to study together sometime? I can fill you in on all the basics."
Serafina's heart skipped a beat as she met Aiden's gaze. "That would be great, thanks," she replied, trying to sound casual.
As the class came to a close, Serafina gathered her belongings and said goodbye to Aiden. She couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and nervousness as she wondered what the rest of the day would bring.
Chloe was waiting for her outside the classroom, a curious expression on her face "So, how was your first class?" she asked.
Serafina grinned. "It was great. I met a guy named Aiden, and we're going to study together sometime."
Chloe's eyes widened. "Aiden? As in, the blue-haired Aiden?"
Serafina nodded. "Yeah, that's the one."
Chloe whistled. "You're definitely making waves, Sera. Aiden is one of the descendants they say he is mysterious so I am shocked to see he spoke to you maybe he has a thing for you."
Serafina blushed. "Shut up, Chloe."
Chloe laughed. "I'm serious, Sera. You're going to have to watch your back. There are going to be a lot of girls who are jealous of you."
Serafina rolled her eyes. "I can handle myself, Chloe."
But as they walked to their next class, Serafina couldn't shake off the feeling that she was being watched. She glanced around, but saw nothing out of the ordinary.
Still, the feeling persisted, and Serafina found herself wondering if Chloe's warning had been more than just an exaggeration.
