Grace was always a mystery to grandma and peace. She respected grandma , adored her aunt but seemingly despised peace. It was something that aunt noticed. The fact that she didn't like Peace , but Grandma and Peace were totally oblivious.
" I love to go and sit down." Grace held her head and slowly walked out of the kitchen.
"Aunt Anita, you said that you adopted Grace and she was the most agile looking and strong willed looking when she was 12 years old, why is she becoming weak as she is advancing in adulthood."
Aunt was quiet for a while, her mien had been drained off life, then she spoke.
" Grace is special, she is very disciplined and kind, I think she is just going through a lot because of her past."
Peace looked at aunt's face she could tell that aunt really loved her and was willing to protect the image or construe the misunderstanding grandma had about her.
" she is twenty two for goodness sake, I heard from you, they would be laying her off from work because of a performance issue."
"Everything will be fine, I believe that my daughter is priceless and so valuable no job can get her fired."
"I hear you." grandma said sarcastically
" I will go talk to her." Peace said as she rushed out of the kitchen.
"Make sure you don't talk too long , we still have to mix the cake dough and…" Grandma voice got diminished as Peace went out of the room.
Grace sat down on the chair, she had always been like this, each time , each time she remembered that her love of her life had been taken away from her. She could not sleep eat or concentrate, she became sickly.\

" Oh I see, honey does she not look delightful." young aunt Anita said while holding the arms of her husband Joshua. He was looking at grace who was sitted on a chair matching a jigsaw puzzle innocently.
Grace could hardly hide her excitement, she thought she was going to spend the rest of her life in the orphanage. She had been practicing this jigsaw puzzle for hours on days. Her trump card was to finish the entire piece within thirty minutes; that was the time given for the parents who wanted to adopt kids in the orphanage.
" Oh yes she does, she is our kid"Joshua said with so much assurance, he sounded like a mother penguine knowing the exact cry of its babe.
At once Grace left the unfinished jigsaw puzzle put it by her side slowly. Then slowly walked up to them, she raised up her face to see if there was approval placed on her to be her parents and she hugged her fathers and mothers legs strategically, she then stared into thier eyes.

" So cute." Joshua patted her head and Anita squatted down and placed her hand on her cheek.
" You are welcome." Anita and Joshua said with a smile and then giggled.
They introduced overjoyed Grace into her new home, this is your room, she entered and she jumped right on the bed. It was an overly girl themed room and it was screaming pink.
" uncle Joshua and aunt Anita!" a little boy who seemed to be to five years older than grace rushed into the room. Grace sat down analyzing the handsome Adonis, he sighted grace and then he smiled at her.
" congratulations" he hugged uncle Joshua . he then laughed , he was so full of charisma and grace.
well Grace had fallen in love, her tiny heart beated gently. She had never seen a guy so full of charisma and such charm, she stared in wild eyed wonder. Her whole body became sensitive and she began to feel shy and strange inside. Her belly churned as she continued staring . he finished greeting Joshua and went into the room and stood before grace, he smiled warmly and stared at her grace could not breath.
" my name is Thane, you are part of the family now and I am your cousin" he took out his hand for a shake.
Grace shook it slowly.

"I am grace Ebube, she tactly called out her recent family's recent family's surname, trying to show off how she was already conscious of whose family she is in.
'' oh uncle, aunt you really did pick a smart child" he patted her head and gave her a huge lollipop.

Thane visited his uncle and aunt once a week and grace anticpated that day like no other . she would follow him everywhere, take notes of his likes and dislikes, dust his shoes secretly before he set off to leave the house and would practice his favourite song and what she did could go and on, by the time she was eighteen, she felt proud of herself, all these years she had learnt how to cook and do household chores from her aunt, she started to work after class lessons , she wanted Thane to find her more than capable of handling his marital home. She could still remember how thane complimented her a certain day.

Today , she was going all out, she was going to confess her love to Thane, she had been nurturing her feeling one sidedly and it was the time to for him to realize how much she meant to him.
" Brother Thane, there is something I want to tell you" there were both seated then thane was pressing his phone but he stopped suddenly and gave his cousin a cursory glance, he dropped the phone by his side.
