Once Goku and Chichi left the currently under construction gravity chamber, Dr. Briefs sighed. "Bulma, this arrangement… Are you certain you're alright with it the way it is? I'm sure if you brought it up with them-"
Bulma shook her head, lips narrowing back into an average normal look, a default emotion if you will… Or perhaps something closer to a half worried look. "Father, right now, all I want is to give Bosa the best environment. I couldn't be happier that everyone is willing to help me out with him." She explained, relaxing for a moment. "So let's not talk any more about it. It'll just make me upset all over again…" A tear rolled down her left cheek…
"I… I see, then I won't pry any further. You're a smart woman, and are capable of making your own decisions." Then Dr. Briefs saw the flickering light of the tear rolling. "I want you to know, your mother and I are here for you whenever you need, dear." He said, and Scratch, the cat on his shoulder, meowed.
Slowly but surely the pair of geniuses finished up work on the gravity chamber. Krillin, Tien and Chiaotzu arrived to take part in the test. Though they weren't the only ones that arrived, Launch had also arrived, and she seemed a little… Well, different. Launch wouldn't be taking part in the test, she wanted to watch it, and play with Bosa for a little while. All that was said and done, these weren't the only ones invited, but they were the only ones who bothered to show up.
Goku appeared to welcome everyone, and looked around. He even put a hand to his forehead in an effort to see further, even though they were inside. "Hmm, where's Master Roshi at? Doesn't he want to see this thing in action too?"
The crew looked around at each other, each giving a look to try and explain the situation. Eventually all eyes fell upon Krillin… "Well, you see Goku, Master Roshi. He is putting Yamcha through the ringer right now. When we got the invite Master Roshi said that he was giving Yamcha an attitude adjustment. So they are back on that island we once trained before the 21st world martial arts tournament. So uh, Master Roshi won't be here for this."
Goku's excitement fell slightly, though he didn't last that way for long.
Bulma, holding Bosa, had come to greet everyone too. "Well, it sounds like Master Roshi is good for something after all." She huffed. "Anyway, welcome. I've had the chefs prepare enough for everyone. Something gives me the idea that someone here is going to eat more than usual."
Everyone instantly looked at Goku. "Hey guys, I can't help it. I just get hungry a lot."
Bosa pointed at Goku and giggled. "Uncle Goku eats a lot!"
Goku cringed for a moment. "Ah not you too, Bosa."
Everyone laughed, including Goku. It was a much needed moment for them after the news about Master Roshi and Yamcha.
"Hey Bulma, can I hold my nephew already? It's been a month."
Bulma laughed a little, and then noticed something that only she seemed to notice, and smiled as she gave Bosa to Launch.
Bosa, being quick to act, nuzzled into Launch. It was his way of showing he was happy to see her. "Aunty Launch!"
"Well then, I'll show everyone to the Gravity Chamber."
It wasn't a long walk, but it was enough for Bulma to explain the concept of the chamber to the group… Though no matter how hard she tried, none of them understood the science behind it, so she opted to explain it as; "It makes you heavier"... Which they understood in theory, but not in practice.
Entering the room, there was a small platform with a control panel attached to the main power. "This platform we are standing on, is a small designated area where the gravity remains unchanged regardless of the magnitude. Fortunately, we have already tested that it works. This is the control panel. All you have to do is type in the number you want, and the chamber will increase the local gravity up to that number. It also has an emergency shutoff on the digital panel, as well as a manual power switch that will cut off the main power." Bulma explained, showing off her ingenious designs.
Krillin, in a nervous sweat gulped. "Wow Bulma, you thought of every or what? It's starting to sound like this thing is more dangerous than we thought."
Bulma formed a pair of fists, about to hit Krillin. "Of course it's dangerous! At 5 times earth's gravity, you'll not only weigh 5 times as much but, you'll also have all of your organs, especially your heart working overtime to keep blood pumping to your brain!" She huffed. "Anyway, the system also has an automatic shutdown if the sensors don't detect any movement for 3 seconds. This is one of the safety features I want you to test today."
Chiaotzu looked around and while floating in the air next to Bosa. "Hey Bulma, why did you make so many shutoffs?"
Chichi, who had also wanted to see the room, finally managed to make her way over. Today was one of those days she had a bad cramp… "She made so many, because she doesn't want an accident to happen and lose any of you to some stupid training accident." She said, half panting.
Bulma noted Chichi's condition, and used a device on her wrist to summon a capsule corps employee to bring some pain ointment, and a freshly brewed pot of tea. "I'm going to let you all train here. But I'm going to let it be the death or maiming of any of you. You're my friends, and I want Bosa to have his uncles around as much as possible."
Krillin, Tien and Chiaotzu all blushed a little at the sentiment. Goku chuckled his signature chuckle. "Alright, then let's get to training guys. I want to see what this thing can do! Woo Hoo! It's training time!"
Kirlin sighed and then let out a chuckle. "Same old Goku, never changing and always happy to train."
Tien smirked. "Don't forget Krillin, we have a similar quality."
"I suppose you're right about that, Tien. Alright, let's get to training!"
