Today was the day, the day of 23rd world martial arts tournament! A day where all the fighters would gather and compete to find out who the strongest under the heavens was. Master Roshi was there, waiting for his students to arrive when someone else stepped out of the taxi. It was Bulma, wearing her typical good looks. However, there was a major difference this time she was holding in her arms a young boy, his hair a dark shade of blue and wearing a cute little martial arts Gi.
"Oh wow Bulma. I know you found Goku in the woods when he was a boy but isn't this a little extreme?" Oolong chuckled, trying to change the topic of conversation to just about anything else other than his ears.
Roshi, not caring about the little kid in the way, ogling at Bulma's naturally good looks. When a firm punch to the face, courtesy of Bulma's fist. The young boy in her arms started giggling away.
"Awe, he's cute, so Bulma, who's this adorable cutie pie." Launch asked, gently poking the still slightly pudgy face of the boy. Another giggle came out as the boy reached up to poke Launch's face and… accidentally swiped at her nose. Launch, in typical fashion stumbled back a step and then sneezed. "Alright now who did that?" The sound of giggling and faint baby claps filled her ears rendering her a little more calm spirited. "Oh, huh, cute kid Bulma, so what's his name? And… Uh, who's the father? It's not Tien, is it?" She asked again, now a bit more bashful.
"Pfft, no his father's not Tien. Though maybe he should have been. At least Tien would have the decency to not play around with other women!" Bulma grumbled furiously.
"So Yamcha then?" Oolong mentioned.
"Oh, good that's a relief then. If it were Tien I'd have to fight you Bulma…" Launch said, leaving everyone speechless, only the sounds of the passers by and the rain could be heard. "Uh, anyway, so what's the kids name huh?"
"Great ignored again." Oolong sighed.
"His name is Bosa. I brought him with me to see all of his mommy's friends. He seems to like you a lot, Launch." Bulma smiled, shifting slightly and lifting Bosa up to sit higher up and see a little better. "So, Bosa, are mommy's friends funny?"
More giggling happened as a gust of wind blew up, seemingly out of nowhere. While Bulma was fawning over Bosa, Launch sneezed again, and Roshi recovered from the knuckle sandwich.
"Ugh, Bulma you have a mean right jab. If you trained a little you'd give the boys a hell of a surprise that's for sure." Roshi said, straightening out his sunglasses.
The sound of a kid crying not too far away, took the attention of the group. Puar, being the first to notice it, looked at the others then to the sound of the crying.
"Say, Puar, I think that girl's lost her balloon. Do you think you can grab it for her?" Roshi asked.
Puar, being a little slow to act after hearing that his best friend has a kid that he never took care of, didn't budge. And that was when a tall man dressed in an unique outfit stepped up and grabbed the balloon, handing it to the girl.
"Is this yours?" The girl nodded her head. "Here you go, try to hold onto it. If it wasn't for Mr. Tree here, it would have floated away." The guy laughed in a familiarly jovial laugh.
"Thank you Mr. Tree. And thank you sir!" The girl said, skipping away happily.
The rain stopped and the evening sun shined. "Hey guys! How you been?"
"HUH"
"Master Roshi, it's good to see you again."
"Master? Wha?"
"Bulma, and hey there little guy. You uhm… Uh, I can't remember sorry…" The man laughed with a familiar head scratch.
"Who are you?" Bulma said, a little confused and protective.
"Awe come on Bulma, it's me. Don't you remember? Ah, well I guess I can't blame you, it has been three years. It's me, Goku."
"What! Goku, that's you?"
Bosa was now staring at Goku with a big smile, like there was a natural pull to like Goku. "Go… Ku?" He muttered.
"HUH! Bosa, did you just say Goku? Can you say mommy?"
"Goku?" There was a brief pause. (Yes that pun is intentional!) "Mo… mmy? Mommy?"
"Yes! Ahahaha, that's right Bosa, I'm your mommy." Bulma laughed and nuzzled Bosa, the two smiling and giggling.
"Ah, so your name's Bosa! Wait… Bulma you have a baby? But how?"
"What? That's more surprising than seeing your best friend return nearly three times taller than the last time you saw them?" Bulma said, sticking her tongue out. And Bosa laughed, seeing the silly side of Bulma coming out again.
"Goku, you've changed a lot since last I saw you. Where have you been exactly?" Master Roshi asked.
"30 minutes left for sign ups!"
"Oh I should sign up first." … "There, now let me see… I went to Master Korrin's place and then up to a place called Kami's lookout. And there I trained with Kami and Mr. Popo… And let me tell you it was some harsh training." He explained getting into his normal Gi.
"HUH! Did you say KAMI'S LOOKOUT!"
"Huh? Yeah, why are you so loud Master Roshi?"
Bosa, seeing the new outfit Goku had on, started teaching out towards Goku. "Goku."
"Huh? Oh, say you're looking sharp aren't you Bosa! Nice Gi." Goku said, walking over and for a moment he hesitated but Bulma was letting Goku hold Bosa. An immense sign of trust to let another hold their kid. "Wow, he's so light. But his grip is something else. Yikes, he'll be quite strong in the future if he trains." Goku said, as Bosa gripped his finger with full force.
The group all had a good laugh seeing the two interact like that. On the other hand, Bulma had a slightly more intense and deeper feeling as she witnessed the playful sight. "It feels natural… I… Goku, can I ask a favor of you?"
"Oh, sure? What is it, Bulma?" Goku asked, but right at that moment the four no-shows finally showed their faces.
"Hey guys! Sorry we're late." Krillin said, with a chuckle rubbing where his nose would have been, doing so as a sign of playful pride.
"Yeah, it was a bear of a time… getting here…" Yamcha chimed in, noticing the death glare he was getting from so many people. "Huh? What's wrong you guys?"
