Days passed, and the exam season was in full swing. The entire campus was buzzing with stress, last-minute revisions, and long hours spent in the library. Lisa, Angela, and Anna barely had time for each other as they were all deeply focused on their studies. Even Pedro and Lisa didn't see each other as often, though they made sure to check in with texts and phone calls whenever they could.
Meanwhile, Lisa's younger brother, Romeo, was still attending school as his exams were scheduled for the following month. Their mom was as busy as ever, constantly traveling for work and fully immersed in her medical practice. The house felt quieter than usual, but Lisa had too much on her plate to dwell on it.
On a Wednesday afternoon, Pedro was relaxing with his friends after a long morning of studying. As expected, the conversation soon shifted to relationships.
"So, how's it going with Lisa?" one of his friends asked with a knowing smirk.
Pedro chuckled, leaning back in his seat. "It's going great, actually. She's amazing."
"You're still taking things slow, huh?" another friend teased. "Man, if she were my girl".
Pedro shot him a warning look. "Yeah, we're taking our time. That's how it should be."
His friends nodded, some giving him a hard time, others respecting his approach. But deep down, Pedro knew his feelings for Lisa were deeper than anything he had ever experienced.
On the other side of campus, Lisa and her friends finally had a day off from exams and decided to hang out. It felt good to take a break from law books and just catch up on life.
At one point, Lisa hesitated before speaking, but then she finally said, "I think I'm ready… to take the next step with Pedro."
Angela and Anna exchanged excited glances.
"You mean…?" Angela raised an eyebrow.
Lisa nodded, her cheeks warming. "Yeah. I want to. I feel like it's the right time."
Anna smiled and reached for Lisa's hand. "As long as you're sure, and it's what you truly want."
Angela nodded in agreement. "And make sure it's special. Don't rush it just because you feel like you have to."
Lisa smiled, feeling reassured. "I know. And I trust Pedro. He's been so patient with me."
A few days later, after what felt like an eternity, exams finally came to an end. To celebrate, Lisa, Pedro, Angela, Anna, and their boyfriends, along with some of Pedro's friends, decided to attend an after-exam party.
Pedro's friend was hosting at his house, and the night was filled with drinks, music, barbecue, and laughter. Everyone let loose after weeks of stress. The swimming pool was the main attraction, with students diving in, splashing around, and enjoying the cool water under the night sky.
Lisa and Pedro, however, found themselves slipping away from the crowd.
"Come with me," Pedro whispered, taking her hand.
Lisa followed him inside the house, where they found one of the guest rooms. The noise from outside faded as they closed the door, and for a moment, it was just the two of them.
She looked up at him, her heart racing, and whispered, "Pedro… I'm ready."
Pedro's eyes searched hers, his hands gently caressing her face. "Are you sure?"
She nodded, her heart full of trust and love. "Yes."
Pedro leaned in and kissed her softly, knowing that tonight would mark a new chapter in their love story one built on patience, love, and the unbreakable bond they had formed.
