Because he would have to watch his sister be in the arms of a man he loathed , whether it was him or Sirzechs.
So Euclid being the petty bastard he was , leaked the plans causing an ambush.
Where he sacrificed his life to protect all of them.
He died while causing trauma to Serafall and Grayfia.

He was already dead so he couldn't really complain but he didn't like it either.
Rin wondered if he should reveal his true identity to Serafall.
But he thought of waiting a bit before doing it because he feared some radical action from Serafall.
Although the Serafall in his memories was a cheerful and silly young woman , he didn't know how his death had changed her.

His skill wasn't part of the Valefor family but something exclusive to him.
He could devour the strength of enemies he slayed , 1% to 10% of their strength and absorb the same from living beings.
Absorption can even be something like poison or a curse.
Devour needed his enemies to be dead while Absorbion didn't need that.
But Absorbtion was not that useful in combat due to the amount of time it took to absorb.
Devour was nearly instant.
From now on stray devil hunting would be much more lucrative .....

The most useful thing about the Queen pieces was ... It wouldn't make Mamako into a Devil but a superior version of whatever her race was.
Also the Queen pieces had mutated due to his limitless potential , the person to whom he would give the Queen pieces would also recieve limitless potential albeit a bit more watered down.
But it wasn't too much as they would only have to work 100x harder than him.

But she quickly smiled as she affectionately patted his hand on her tummy as she continued to cook while enjoying her son's warm embrace.
Rin on the other hand felt happy that he had a solution to the matter that had been bothering him for such a long time.
His mother's safety.
But with the Queen pieces it was solved. He didn't care if his mother wasn't suitable or didn't meet the criteria for being chosen.
All he cared about was whether he could give her a means to protect herself.
If he couldn't even protect the people that mattered to him , then what was the use of all this power...
