"Though I didn't know the wine was poisoned... but..."

Silva thought as she glared at the scene, her smirk widening.

"She got what she deserved."

She watched coldly as the guards rushed in, carrying June away from the chaos.

"This is going to be a long night," Silva muttered to herself.

Biting down on her lip, Silva braced herself for the impending storm. Suddenly, her eyes caught sight of two figures in the dark night — a man and a woman standing far too close for comfort.

"Why do I have to witness this right now?" she thought bitterly contrasting her impending doom.

Moments later, a voice behind her called out, summoning her to her father.

With a sigh, she made her way to him, fully aware of the inevitable doom that awaited her.

"It's worth it though," she told herself as she stepped into her father's living room.

Without warning, Lucius seized Silva by the hair and dragged her violently into his private study.

"You dare try to humiliate me at a moment this important!" he roared.

"Father, I didn't... The poison wasn't my doing!"

"Shut it!"

Lucius struck her across the face, then yanked her hair back with brutal force.

"What now?!" Lucius sneered, his sinister gaze fixed on Silva's bleeding mouth.

"Now that you've poisoned her... do you think Branden will still marry you?"

He glared menacingly, his lit cigar hovering dangerously close to her eye.

"Huh? Huh?!"

"N-no... no, Father..." Silva stammered.

Before she could finish, Lucius hurled her across the room. She crashed into the table with a painful thud.

"Damn it!" Lucius roared, frustration boiling over.

"Now everything is ruined because of a damn weasel!"

His anger flared as he stormed toward her, grabbing a fistful of her hair.

Without warning, he backhanded her across the face, sending her sprawling against the dinner table.

"What should I do with her now?!" he muttered darkly.

Silva, blood trickling from her lip, slid weakly to the floor. Before she could gather her breath, Lucius grabbed her hair again, twisting it so tightly that she could barely gasp for air.

"Father... please... wait... I'm sorry!" she choked out.

"Shut it! Before I rip every damn strand of hair from your scalp!"

Lucius slammed her down onto the table once more, her battered body crumpling beneath the force.

"Since you insist on ruining my plans, disposing of you is inevitable," Lucius growled, yanking Silva up by her arm and forcing her to meet his menacing gaze.

Just then, Gabby entered the room.

"That's enough, Lucius!" she said coldly.

"You're going to kill her at this rate — and I'm sure that won't look good in the public eye."

She stepped closer.

"After all, her death — right on June's birthday — will only raise suspicion against us."

"That's not a concern," Lucius snapped, violently shoving Silva away. She hit the floor with a painful thud.

"Getting rid of her traces will be simple." He scoffed darkly. "And I'm sure it's light work for Richard."

Gabby sighed. "Your anger... it's just like his," she thought, watching Lucius — a reflection of his ruthless father.

"I understand, son," Gabby said carefully. "But you still need to preserve our honor in the eyes of the people. So please, hold back for now."

Her gaze shifted to Silva, barely conscious and bleeding on the floor.

"And by no means am I saying you shouldn't discipline her," Gabby added coldly.

"After all, the first rule of this household is clear: any threat to the family's success results in immediate 'life house imprisonment.'"

She leaned closer to Lucius, lowering her voice to a whisper.

"I'm only suggesting you make her suffering slow... rather than swift."

Gabby's lips curled into a cruel smile as her eyes flicked toward Silva.

"After all... slow pain lingers the longest."

"Alright, fine. Take her away and lock her up," Lucius said, glaring angrily at Silva.

As the guard grabbed Silva and began dragging her away, Gabby turned to Lucius, smiling in an attempt to calm her son's deadly rage.

"Alright, son, calm down. The doctor said the poison wasn't strong enough to kill June. In two days, she'll be back to normal."

"So please, relax. The wedding between her and Branden will still commence."

"And I know it was childish of that brat to try poisoning her, but I advise we maintain a low profile regarding her for now." Gabby offered calmly.

Lucius took a deep breath and then pushed his mother aside, his expression hardening.

"Fine, I'll take your advice for now. But make no mistake, Mother, if she pulls any stunts again, I won't hesitate to have her disposed of."

"Of course, son," Gabby replied, smiling as she watched her son walk away.
