Chapter 4 - Chapter -4 Summoning Skeletons.

Chapter 4

"Stop, Kreacher, hand over the box to me first." Regulus Black quickly stopped the house-elf's foolish actions.

The box was respectfully handed over by Kreacher, who felt deeply guilty for being unable to destroy this magical item.

"Fortunately, Kreacher couldn't destroy it. I initially wanted to destroy it, but now I need it. This is not Kreacher's fault; he has kept it safe and not given it to anyone else, which is the best outcome."

Regulus knew he needed to give the house-elf an explanation; otherwise, he would get stuck in a loop of self-blame, much like a computer freezing up. Providing an explanation could prevent him from engaging in some cruel self-destructive behaviors in the future.

When the real box was in Regulus Black's hands, the dark power that penetrated the soul was clearly visible.

In fact, it was precisely because of this dark magical item that if it were carelessly placed anywhere, the dark power it emitted could lead to loss of control, causing chaos and madness. It had a very negative impact on the Black family; after Regulus went missing and Sirius was captured, the family was basically ruined.

Regulus naturally wanted to reclaim this Horcrux for himself and refine it again through the system he brought with him during his journey. However, there was one problem: the piece of soul left in the Horcrux by Voldemort, though only a fragment, was still not to be underestimated.

Every time a Horcrux was destroyed, it either involved the protagonist escaping or Dumbledore's one hand turning into a zombie hand, which suited his role as the hidden mastermind.

The "Belt" that Regulus initially designed aimed for this item to have the largest capacity and the ability to synthesize alchemical items of the Hardim.

Of course, if it were just a set of data on a computer, that would be mere fantasy. After all, it must comply with the system's own rules. A belt is a belt; it can only have a maximum of 16 slots, not 49. The Hardim can only have 12 slots for synthesis, and it won't include equipment positions along with backpack slots.

The attributes of the Hardim box that come with the belt are now reflected in the ability to freely add and sketch attributes, which is a unique feature.

It's like a game modifier; as long as it meets the item's attributes, it can be added freely. However, incompatible additions will fail—for example, armor cannot have attack attributes, and weapons cannot have defense attributes.

For instance, the Soul Potion in the Black Lake has all its attributes set according to its original characteristics, having chosen the most appropriate attributes after repeated experimentation. Moreover, it was personally crafted by Regulus, so he knows it inside and out.

However, the situation with the box in his hands is much more complex. Not to mention that it is a Horcrux made by Voldemort, it is difficult to truly realize its value without knowing its specific attributes. Just the fact that it contains a fragment of Voldemort's soul is a huge unstable factor.

Only by separating the soul fragment within it can it be truly utilized.

Regulus Black, as a member of the crossing crowd, is also very clear about the locations of the other Horcruxes. Although he doesn't know the specific details, he understands when and where this Horcrux will appear. Therefore, as long as he has the ability to deal with the soul fragment within the Horcrux, he will take it if he can; if not, he won't force it.

Instead of thinking about collecting Horcruxes, it would be better to start with his own built-in system. This is a golden finger benefit for those who have crossed over, and it would be a waste to not use it. After all, this is more suitable as his own strength than any magic!

Since arriving until now, Regulus has only used one skill, "Corpse resurrection," to revive his corpse-like self; he has not used any other skills.

The Necromancer class has three skill trees, each with 10 skills, divided into "Summoning," "Bones and poisons," and "Curses."

Because of the belt he designed himself, Regulus Black has all skills at level 7, which means his starting point is level 7 skills, and the skills are all at the same level, so when using [Corpse resurrection], he does not need to be level 30 or above as in the game.

"Then, as a symbol of a necromancer, let's summon a skeleton to see!"

Regulus Black reached out to the side, "Summon Skeleton! Huh..." Nothing appeared.

"Master, are you experimenting with magic?" Kreacher had no idea that his master had just failed to cast a spell and was currently feeling awkward.

"The basement is still the same magic training ground as before, and Kreacher has always kept it clean."

The house-elf honestly praised himself while starting to tidy up the dishes on the table.

Regulus glanced at the panoramic map, and indeed, this old house had a reinforced basement specifically for experimenting with magic, brewing potions, and creating alchemical items, with various cabinets around the walls containing the materials to be used.

So, changing locations, Regulus didn't say much to Kreacher and went straight to the basement.

On the floor of the basement, a complex magic circle was drawn, ancient runes flickering with a faint glow, still operating with magical power after 11 years. Its purpose was to ensure that experiments here would not blow up the old house and could even provide an illusion space for training.

Regulus looked around and first took out a corpse from box [Fake], specifically choosing the largest one, thinking that the summoned skeleton would also have sturdier bones.

"Summon Skeleton!"

This time, using the skill successfully summoned a skeleton, with pure white bones standing two meters tall, thick and sturdy, holding two double-bladed battle axes in its hands, slightly shaking its entire skeletal body, with ghostly flames flickering in its hollow eyes.

Regulus knew clearly that he could easily command it to fight; he only needed to give a general target, and it would fight to the death until either the enemy or its own life was extinguished.

"Skill level 7, which means I can summon 7 skeletons."

Regulus Black continued to take out the excess skeletons one by one and used them as materials to summon six more skeletons in succession.

With this move, Regulus Black began to see the pattern.

Why he had been concerned about the number [7] was because this number also corresponds to the number of classes in the game. The summoned skeletons were an Amazon skeleton with a bow and arrow, an assassin skeleton with claws, a necromancer skeleton with a large scythe, a wizard skeleton with a staff, a druid skeleton with a wolf-tooth club, a paladin skeleton equipped with a sword and shield, plus the previously summoned barbarian skeleton with dual axes, perfectly matching the seven major classes in Diablo.

During the experiment, Regulus even discovered a technique for using skills: the summoned skeletons could be added to the skill tree, and when summoned again in the future, they would require no magical power and would directly summon 7 skeletons to fight.

The skill [Summon Skeleton] also changed to a display of 7/7.

"Then... I can also summon 7 skeleton mages, so the number of corpse guardians can maintain a normal 777/777 count."

Regulus continued to summon skeleton mages with the excess skeletons, "Summon Undead! Summon Undead! Summon Undead..."

The seven classes of skeleton mages appeared.
