The day was still bright as the sun was still out. Mr Fraser had just come back from the farm. He was carrying some woods as he dropped it robustly on the floor making some cracking sounds.
Oh dear, you are back. Mrs Fraser said from the kitchen.
Yes, where are my girls? He asked.
Papa! Lila called out dressed In thick skirt and a blouse.
Dad! Evelyn called out dressed in silky gown.
The two girls went to hug their father.
How are you princesses faring? He asked patting their backs.
We are faring great. Papa, mum said you are taking us out. Lila said excitedly.
Oh yes, let's go before the sun sets. Their father said and the three of them left the house after saying their goodbyes to their mother.
Mr Fraser and his two daughters were walking on the fine and smooth road admiring the market.
Dad, is it possible to visit the royal castle? I have been urging to visit there even if it's once. Lila asked her sapphire blue eyes sparkling brightly under the sun.
Her father turned to look at her and wanted to refuse her, but he changed his mind.
Well, we can't though unless we write a letter to the king and our purpose of visiting the castle. Her father said calmly.
Alright papa, I will write the letter tonight and deliver it to the king. Lila suggested meaningfully.
That will be good, but you and your sister should do that together. Her father said and Lila secretly gave her sister a disdainful look before faking a smile.
That won't be a problem papa. Lila said brightly.
Alright then, girls let's go back home. It's almost late. We can't be out here when the sun set. Her father said and the two girls nodded and together with their father, they went back home.
On reaching home,
Lila quickly went to the room and went under the bed to bring out the wooden box she had secretly returned without her sister's knowledge, she opened the box and fed a white substance to the snake. After feeding the snake the white substance, she quickly returned the snake back inside the wooden box and kept it back under the bed.
"Dinner is ready". Evelyn spoke from the entrance of the door when she saw Lila standing up from the bed. She wanted to ask what she was doing under the bed but changed her mind as she will find out herself without letting Lila know about. She thought.
I'm coming. Lila said and quickly adjusted herself before she followed after Evelyn to go have their dinner.
While they were eating, Mr Fraser asked,
"Have you written the letter"?
What Letter? Mrs Fraser asked with a curious gaze.
Lila is planning on visiting the castle so I told her to write a letter to the king. Mr Fraser said calmly eating the steak.
What? You want to visit the royal castle filled with vampires? What if they attack you? Her mother sounded tensed.
No mum, they won't. It will just be for a day. Lila agrued as if sensing her mother will quickly object to it.
It's not that they will bite you. But Yiu can't step foot into the royal castle. Her mother said.
Why mum? Is it because it's a slap to the humans if they find out a human willingly entered a vampire's den? Lila retorted. She was already pissed at the fact that her foolishly naive sister is following her. Maybe if they visit the castle, she can offer her sister a sacrifice to the vampire king for a night meal. She thought evilly.
Enough Lila! You won't disrespect our mother. Evelyn cautioned her and Lila finally lost it. Her blue eyes looked pissed like a angry ocean.
Fine then, do what pleases you all. And I will do what makes me happy and that's on final ! ! She said coldly and went back to the room.
I'm sorry dad and mum, I will go talk to her. Evelyn apologized and went to check up on Lila.
This is bad. Mrs Fraser said worriedly and tensed.
I know dear, our daughters are really with these handsome vampires that are deadly creatures. Mr Fraser said.
Uhm,I will just go to bed to think for a solution. There must be a way for them to also hate this hideous monsters. They mustn't get too carried away with these monsters. Mrs Fraser said and Mr Fraser nodded.
Inside the girls room,
Lila was laying on the bed all curled up. She covered her self with the blankets.
Is she cold? Evelyn thought and was about to touch her but changed her mind. She will let her cool off and come back to her senses. Evelyn thought and went to lay on the other side of the bed.
It was late in the night when the family of Frasers were sleeping peacefully - but not too peacefully as Evelyn had a nightmare; She felt a presence in her room.
"A strange shadow was looming over her. Evelyn wanted to scream but her voice had refused to scream, she felt the shadow looming deeper as it's silver eyes stared at her. Her eyes were wide open as she couldn't look away from the silvery eyes. The way the silver eyes was looking at her is as though it was looking deep through her soul."
"She wanted to scream out of fear with the way it was looming over her, but at the same time she was drawn to his silver eyes. The shadow gaze on her was so intense that she felt her skin creep out of strange ways."
"His fingertips were moving in circles on her tender skin: though he wasn't touching her, but she could feel the warmth that spread through her causing her toes to curl tightly."
Please don't hurt me. She begged her voice trembled and barely a whisper. Just as she said those words, the spell of his gaze was broken and he faded into the darkness.
Evelyn woke up shocked and all sweaty. She turned to look at her sister who was still fast asleep.
"What was that?!" She thought as she hugged her body tightly to cool the heat that was already building up from within her.
