Two months later, in the eastern city.
"We'll finally have our first meeting", I excitedly told my mother.
"I know you're excited, but you should rest. You don't want to get sick like you did last moon, do you?", she said lovingly.
"It won't happen again", I said, a little embarrassed. "I'll do as you say, after all, you're the wisest person in the world", I said mockingly.
"Hahaha… That's not true", she said happily, seeming to be unfamiliar with sarcasm. "But I'm the mother of the wisest person… Now let's go to bed", she said, not expecting a "no" as an answer.
"I hope the latest plans have gone well", I thought before going to bed.
Over the past two months, messengers came once again with new news and reports on the progress of my orders. The cities had been successfully settled, and they found a new sense of belonging in being citizens of such large settlements. The large cities had settled thousands of families, while some of the villages moved to the locations of the towns that had moved to the cities. Likewise, the more adventurous, eager to form villages, took control of the villages belonging to those who had moved to the towns. This generated a movement of people to larger settlements and the formation of new towns and villages.
As for the expansion towards the river, it turned out to be better than I expected. The cities mobilized people to find shorter routes, created trails, and some temporary road structures until they found them. Not only did they find the routes, but they also found several places where it was possible to form new towns, and some very favorable places for agriculture.
The southern city managed to communicate in a friendly manner with the people of the southern mountain ranges. They decided to send a priest and one of their leaders for a meeting the following month, which I thought was very good news. At the same time, the northern city also contacted a large village north of the mountain ranges, who would send a messenger in a few months.
To prepare for these meetings, last month I asked Simte to find me people who spoke their language. For both languages, it was no problem finding people who could speak to them. In the case of the south, there were people in the villages closest to their people who knew the language very well, and in the case of the northern people, their language is very similar to ours, but they have some changes or idioms of their own.
"I seem to have a knack for languages", I thought when I had begun to learn the language of the southern people. While the languages of native people aren't as complex as some more developed languages of the future, I still learned it very quickly, and I even created a dictionary so our people could understand their language by directly looking up the words in it. In the case of the northern people, it was much easier; I only had to add a few words to our language.
The next day, in the command center.
"At least I won't have to speak so loudly anymore", I thought as I looked at the five leaders, including my father, who were in the room. Last time, at the village leader's meeting, it was an open space where I had to shout so everyone could hear me, but this time things were different.
"Son of Heaven, everything is ready", the High Priest told me.
"Let's begin then", I said.
"Great Leaders, we will begin with the first meeting of our people", he said loudly to the leaders to get their attention.
"Dear leaders, I would like to start this meeting with something very special. Our people have called themselves by different names, but we have never been as united as we are now. Because of this, we have sought a way for us to identify with each other and reclaim a name for our people", I told everyone excitedly.
"We, the priests, along with the Son of Heaven, have a proposal for you. Our people can be called 'Suaza'. We will be people who live by day but also love the night, children of the Sun and the Moon, just like the Son of Heaven", the High Priest said with a ceremonial air.
"We agree", "It's a very good name", everyone said.
"Then, with this important matter over, we will begin this meeting with your reports and progress", I told the leaders.
We spent the next two hours talking with the leaders.
The central city and our eastern city reported normal progress, only population growth, and the creation of some improved storage buildings, or the maintenance of existing ones.
In the case of the southern city, their news was related to two things. The first was that they reacted very favorably to our request for messengers and priests; their response had been so positive that the usual disputes over hunting and gathering territories were resolved peacefully. The other issue was that the people had voluntarily established villages near the river, as it would be very difficult for them to establish villages or towns further south, due to their proximity to the people of the southern mountain ranges.
The western city shared their progress in approaching the river; they had already established some temporary villages and prepared land for the next season's planting. At my request, they set about preparing a special wetland for planting rice. This rice, however, differs from the one we know in the future, as it produces fewer grains per plant, although these are somewhat larger. The flavor also varies, although not as significant.
On the other hand, the northern city was much more proactive in its decision-making. A few months ago, they had established contact with the northern people and began to form settlements along the river. This expansion benefited them greatly, as they had discovered vast expanses of fertile, flat soil, ideal for farming. Furthermore, it was easy to divert water from the river and create wetlands. They also announced that messengers from the northern people would arrive in two months, one month after the arrival of the people from the southern mountain range.
"This is excellent news", I exclaimed, pleased to hear all this. "Is there anything else you wish to add?", I asked them all.
"Son of Heaven, the priests in charge of the cities have informed me that a large number of families in each of them have indicated they are expecting the next generation of Suazas. They heard your message about food stability and decided to expand their families", the High Priest commented enthusiastically.
"Is this true?", I inquired, seeking confirmation from the leaders with my gaze.
"That's right, young Chuta", they responded in unison. "We didn't think it was appropriate to discuss such matters", the leader of the central city added, visibly embarrassed.
"I understand", I replied, realizing that matters of intimate relationships were not at all topics that should be discussed with a child, at least that was what they thought. "Is the same true in the eastern city, Leader?", I asked my father directly.
"That is true, young Chuta", he confirmed, maintaining respect for the atmosphere of the meeting. "In fact, your mother is expecting another of our children", he added, unable to hide the joy in his voice.
"That is wonderful news", I commented to everyone. "However, your concerns are unfounded. The knowledge and wisdom bestowed upon me by the gods also encompass fertility... Speaking of which, High Priest, are our people losing babies at birth?", I asked, after briefly reflecting on the matter.
"It is just as you say", he stated, confirming the harsh reality mothers faced during childbirth. "Some mothers lose their children now of birth, while others suffer that loss a few months after they are born. Furthermore, there are times when some women die during childbirth or a few days after", the High Priest told me with obvious regret.
"Fuuuu... I understand", I replied, sensing the sadness of these people who were unfamiliar with birth control. "I will develop a plan to prevent the deaths of our people. The priests will be responsible for forming information groups in every city, town, and village. In this way, we can reduce the losses and ensure that mothers properly care for their children", I stated with determination.
"Thank you so much for your wisdom, SuaChie Chuta", they said in unison.
"All this is for our people and for our gods", I responded with a mystical air. "High Priest, I ask you to distribute the plans to everyone", I instructed, pointing to the documents on the inn.
"As I command", he replied as he began distributing the papers among the leaders.
"First, I expect all of you to know how to read. If there are any of you who can't, don't hesitate to ask one of the priests for help so you fully understand each of the plans for your cities", I told them, noticing them flipping through the documents. "These plans contain the steps to follow for each location, but you can also suggest ideas that we will consider", I continued my explanation.
"The most important thing in the short term is the crops", I added, feeling a little excited.

[A/N: CHAPTER COMPLETED
Hello everyone.
New chapter. Chuta has taken charge of his people and created his own name.
Unnecessary fact of the day: they originally called themselves "Muiscas," like the name of their village, since it means "people." And the term "Suaza" is a combination of the words "Sua," which means "Sun," and "Za," which means "Moon."
