Chapter 3 - Bite Me, Your Highness!

VINCENT

"Vincent, please, don't leave me. I can do whatever you want. Please." Skylar pleaded on his knees with tears in his eyes.

I fisted his hair and yanked his face backwards. "You can? Wasn't that the same thing you told Milo when you came on his hands."

His eyes went round as the tears flowed in torrents. "W - What?"

"Get out of my sight!" I shoved him away.

Like a rat, he scurried over to me, holding onto my leg. "P - please, choose me, Vincent. Milo and I were a mistake."

I flashed him a grin. "So were we."

I slammed the door on my way over, dragging my hand through my hair as I walked by. As usual, I hear the whistles from fangirls.

"Vincent, I've got you some towels."

"Vincent, please, look at me."

"Vincent, bite me. I promise to be a good girl."

"Please, choose me!"

Ugh! Hearing the same thing everyday was sickening.

I stole a glance at my watch. It was noon. Damian was on his way. They'd be on my tail right now.

"Yo, Vincent. Where are you?" Val said via telepathy.

I made a fake-yawn. "Just waking up."

"You better get your ass over here. Damian is almost here." She said with a hissing tone.

"You're not my boss." I rolled my eyes.

"I am too. By 30 seconds." She scoffed.

"That's getting old, don't you think?"

"Get over here and drag Dominic with you. Ever since he left to pick up the newbie, he hasn't returned." she said.

"Newbie?"

"Yeah. We've got another human student."

"Hmm. Interesting."

*****

I leaned against the jamb of the door and flashed them both a grin. "What do we have here?"

Dominic was standing close to another guy. He didn't tell me he got another boyfriend.

I squinted my eyes. That one was definitely his type - average height, petite frame like a girl's, round brown eyes that look cute behind his glasses, and short brown hair. He was a meal.

"Oh God." The stranger put the shirt he was holding over his face making Dominic turn around.

"Don't show up unannounced at my door. What if I was naked?" Dominic rolled his eyes as he stalked towards me.

"I don't give two shits and you know it," I reached out for a handshake. "And besides, I've seen you naked before."

"Pervert," Dominic smacked my hand after the shake and walked to where the thin boy was. "So this is Caleb, a newbie. Caleb, this is Vincent, my bestfriend and the biggest asshole on earth."

The assembly bell tolled.

"It's time. Let's go."

Caleb looked between us. "Go where?"

"Assembly. Get dressed."

As we walked out into the hall, students scurrying around parted the middle aisle for us as we walked by.

"He's here." Val said via telepathy.

"I know. Don't get your panties in a twist." I rolled my eyes again.

"W - What's going on?" Caleb stuttered. That was cute.

"Nothing much." Dominic answered, draping his hands over Caleb's shoulders. "We're just headed to the assembly."

"With everyone clearing the path?" Caleb asked, bewildered.

"Yeah."

We walked down the steps and out to the entrance.

The carriage had arrived. I stood with my arms behind me.

"The regent is here." The Herald, Berkeley, announced in a solemn voice.

I bowed my head and so did everyone else.

"Who's that?" I heard Caleb whisper behind me.

"Didn't you hear the Herald before? That's the prince." Dominic whispered back.

With my gaze to the floor, I made out a black polished shoe stepping out of the carriage.

"Welcome back, Your Highness." Berckeley greeted him warmly.

"Hmm." came Damian's deep reply.

"All rise for his Imperial Highness, Prince Regent Damian Silvermist!"

I heard his footsteps walk past me and we all lifted our heads.

"Woah. That was close." I passed a short exhale and got a nudge in the ribs for my troubles.

"Why are you late!" Val hissed at me.

"Ouch." I rubbed my side even though it didn't hurt.

"Come on. He's waiting." She pulled my arm and I followed her.

I could make out Damian's gelled hair. He walked slowly with both his hands in his pocket, his intense aura dominating the very hall.

We arrived at his room on the top floor. Val had already made the necessary preparations. That was supposed to be my duty but I could rely on my twin sister. She's such an angel.

The five of us stood before his desk with our arms crossed behind our backs.

"Welcome back, D. How was your trip?" Val spoke first. She was closer to Damian and unlike the rest of us, was freer with him.

Damian heaved a sigh as she helped him peel off his jacket. "What did you expect?"

"But I thought conferences in the human world were anything but boring." She draped his coat on the rack.

"Those fools boast about achievements that aren't theirs." Damian took a seat on the sofa sitting beside his desk. Crossing one leg over the other, he extended his hand.

Val placed a white ceramic cup with golden rims on his hand. "Well, I'm glad it's all over."

"So am I." He took a sip of the red content and relaxed into his chair.

As he lifted his eyes to meet ours, my blood chilled. Why did he return? He wasn't supposed to come back in another 2 months.

"A little birdie told me the dorm isn't the way it used to be while I was gone." He dragged his deep red eyes to meet mine.

I looked heavenward, whistling as Damian approached me.

"Vincent, do we have a problem?" Damian stared hard at me.

"Nope," I replied, popping the P. "Do we?"

Damian and I gave each other hard stares for a few seconds before I looked away.

"I leave the school for 2 weeks and it suddenly becomes your playground?" Damian slammed his fist on the desk and the sound thundered through the room.

Before I could reply, a loud thud interrupted me.

The door clicked open and Berkeley walked in with a familiar face. It was Caleb.
