Chapter 5 - Chapter 4: Descent into the Abyss

1. Father's Madness

The family was completely shattered. Sheng left with resentment, leaving behind only a scene of chaos. His mother and sister Qin cried their hearts out, while his father remained silent. He sat on the sofa, his hands clenched tightly, his eyes hollow, as if he had lost his soul.

But his silence was not a sign of peace, but rather the prelude to a storm.

In the following days, his father's emotions became extremely unstable. He would suddenly fly into a rage, smashing furniture in the house, roaring for no reason, and even yelling at his mother and Qin. He couldn't accept Sheng's betrayal, couldn't accept that he had lost to his own son, and couldn't accept that his family had completely changed.

Bang watched all this, his heart growing increasingly heavy. He tried his best to hold on, wanting to comfort his mother and Qin, but he himself was on the verge of collapse. His life had lost all warmth, and every day felt like torture.

2. The Edge of Losing Control

His father's emotional breakdown lasted for a full 39 days.

During this time, his mother suffered the most. She not only had to face her son's betrayal but also had to endure her husband's madness. She tried again and again to persuade her father to calm down, but each time she was met with even more intense anger.

On the 39th day, his mother finally reached her breaking point. She stood in front of his father, her eyes firm, her voice trembling but filled with anger.

"That's enough!" she screamed. "Do you think you're the only one suffering? Look at this family, look at Bang, look at Qin! We're all enduring this! Why do you vent all your anger on us?"

His father's face contorted, and he swung his hand out violently.

"Slap!"

His mother was pushed to the ground, a red mark appearing on her face.

The air froze instantly.

Bang's eyes widened, his blood boiling at that moment, and anger instantly overwhelmed his reason. His fists clenched tightly, his nails digging into his palms, and only one thought remained in his mind: kill this man!

He took a step forward, his fist raised high, ready to smash it into his father's face.

"Bang! Don't!"

His mother's voice stopped him.

She lay on the ground, tears streaming down her face, desperately grabbing his leg and shaking her head vigorously.

Bang's fist hung in the air, his breathing rapid, his body trembling slightly.

He finally realized that he was standing on the edge of the abyss.

3. The Night of No Return

That night, Bang didn't sleep.

He sat in his room, his eyes hollow, replaying the scene in his mind. His father's rage, his mother's tears, Qin's silence, and Sheng's last words, "Anyone who tries to stop me will pay a painful price."

He had always thought that he could control his emotions.

But now, he understood.

His world was no longer his own.

He had no future at work, living like a dog every day, being bossed around without any dignity. At home, he could no longer feel any warmth, not even the most basic sense of security.

There was only one answer in his heart:

He cared too much about emotions, which had driven him to a dead end.

He had no way out.

Dark thoughts grew wildly in his heart.

He had finally turned dark.
