Cough! Cough! Cough!
Pan Xiu woke up with a start. He felt a giant lump blocking his breathing gradually subside as he coughed violently. Faint teardrops came out from his eyes as he tried to rub them dry with his hands.
'What the fuck, that was one hell of a cough'
"Master Yu! Do you require water? This lowly servant shall bring some immediately!" Pan Xiu saw some random guy dressed up in low quality robes exclaim as he scurried off, panicking.
'Huh? Who the fuck is that? Did someone intrude on my van? Maybe that's why he ran away.
Pan Xiu rested his hands on top of a blanket, weird, he thought to himself since he was just sitting on a couch in his vanity van.
And then he looked around.
'Holy shit.'
He noticed that he was sitting in a bed, situated in a simple room. The decorations were nothing extravagant, with only a table, chair, and a mirror present in the room. The only highlight was a large window beside his bed.
The view outside could only be described as heavenly, in contrast to the room. Lush trees, vivid flowers, and a small pond that reflected rays of sunlight falling onto the surface. The water was so clear that one could see their own reflection. It looked like a scene straight out of a painting, as a such verdant scenario could simply not be seen in the hustle and bustle of modern life. The smell of incense and flowers filled the small room, while a small butterfly made its way into the room and onto the bedside table.
Clearly, this was not the ideal scenario that someone like Pan Xiu, who was surrounded by materialism, was used to.
Before Pan Xiu could think further, the guy from earlier came back and handed him a white jade cup filled with water.
"Please forgive the tardiness of this servant Master Yu!"
This time, Pan Xiu could look at him clearly.
The guy had big, round eyes with beautiful eyelashes. His lips were full but cracked and his nose was a bit crooked. His hair was long and dark, tied up in a high ponytail, though some of his hair was pulled out of place while some locks fell on his face, making him look quite disheveled. He was dressed up in pale yellow robes, with long flowy sleeves that closed at his hands. Again, there was nothing special about his clothes, or himself.
Pan Xiu looked at him as his eyes gradually widened to the point it looked as if they would pop out of his sockets. He frantically pushed the blanket away from him, trying to get up but ended up almost tripping, while a piece of his own long, lush hair fell on his arm.
"AHHHHH!!!! WHAT IS THAT!? WHAT IS THAT!? GET AWAY FROM ME!" Pan Xiu screamed at the top of his lungs as he tried to flick away the strands of his own hair, believing them to be some kind of insect. It took him quite a while to realize that the 'long hairy insect' on his shoulder was just hairy, as it should be since it's a lock of hair.
"Master Yu?! Is there something unusual? Shall I call the Peak Lord or the other Masters?" The servant looked frightened by the behavior of his Master.
"What are you talking about?? Who the hell are you?" Pan Xiu looked around to see if he could use anything to defend himself in case he was kidnapped and attacked.
"Master Yu..? I assumed Master knew my name... This servant is named Ma Wei. Master has been unconscious since yesterday as he suffered from an injury on the head. In case the Master feels any discomfort or pain, this servant shall go bring the physician. This servant has also brought a medicinal balm that the physician recommended." Ma Wei presented a small container in front of him.
'Master Yu? Is he talking about me? Also, what's up with his vocabulary, is he some kind of secretary? Why is he even wearing THAT? Didn't people stop wearing that like ages ago? I swear that's what we wear on set!'
A million questions popped up in Pan Xiu's head, but no words escaped his mouth. He was too confused to speak. If he really was kidnapped, then he was practically dead since he knew zero self-defense techniques. He should've really joined that karate class as a kid.
That Ma Wei guy called him Master Yu. But his surname isn't Yu. So, the kidnapper thought that he was Master Yu when he really was just regular old Pan Xiu. Wait no, not 'regular old', he was a world-renowned actor! How did he get confused with Master Yu and not the other way around? I mean, who hasn't seen his face?
Pan Xiu managed to nod so as to not look completely blank. The servant kept the medicinal balm container on the bedside table.
"Would Master Yu want this servant's help in applying the balm?"
"Oh hell no" Pan Xiu replied in a low voice. Ma Wei looked puzzled, yet bowed to Pan Xiu and left.
'Okay, what the hell is going on? Am I even kidnapped? That guy didn't ask for ransom, neither did he threaten me or attack me in any way. In fact, he gave me medicine. Plus, he seems to think I injured my head yesterday. Maybe some of the screws in his head are a bit loose, so he got me confused for someone else and is somehow taking care of me instead of, I don't know, murdering me? Not that I'm not grateful.'
Pan Xiu began roaming around in his room with countless theories forming in his head about his current situation.
But then he saw it.
A mirror.
And inside the mirror, was a man.
He was young, probably in his twenties. He had sharp brows, a straight nose, and bright, plump lips. His eyes were slightly upturned, like those of a fox. His hair was deep black, as straight as a pin and loosely tied in a low ponytail. Locks of his hair escaped from the ponytail and framed his face, making him look sharp and cunning, yet gullible.
He wore light blue robe with silver embroidery that was thin, the fabric naturally clinged on to his body, making his muscles and strong chest clearly visible.
He had a natural sly look on his face. Anyone could tell that the man brought trouble along with him wherever he went; such was his face.
Pan Xiu stepped back immediately. So did the man in the mirror. Pan Xiu gasped, and so did the man in the mirror.
'OHMYGOD.'
'IS THAT ME?!!'
