Chapter 3 - I'm Shizun

Pan Xiu broke down, he simply couldn't accept it.

He couldn't accept that he had become ugly.

Sure, he was at an unknown place, and had somehow become this unknown man. But none of these things mattered anymore.

Beauty had always mattered to Pan Xiu, ever since he was young. Watching his face, his treasure, that he had looked after so faithfully in his former life, get replaced by a random face, it was truly a stab at his poor heart.

After a full forty minutes of mourning for his appearance, he finally understood what was truly happening to him.

Transmigration.

'What the hell?'

'But I mean, it makes sense. It explains why that Ma Wei dude was calling me Master Yu, and why he was speaking to me as if we were living in the fucking Han Dynasty!

But, it doesn't make sense. Aren't you supposed to get hit by truck-kun in order to transmigrate? Even the people who usually transmigrate are like.. poor or tired of living.

I'M NOT EVEN POOR! I HAD SO MUCH TO LIVE FOR!

Wait a minute... am I dead?

But how did I even die? Wasn't I just in my van, on my phone, eating chips? HOW DO YOU EVEN DIE IN SUCH A CALM SITUATION?!

Alright, let's calm down, Pan Xiu'

Pan Xiu, or rather, Master Yu, sat down on his bed once again and drank the water brought by Ma Wei.

'Alright, based on all these novels and series, the main character usually transmigrates into some sort of novel or video game. So, that must mean that this is some sort of fictional story as well. Also, the main character usually transmigrates as a villain, or in the best case scenario, the protagonist itself. They always make these cunning and smart plans, to overcome the fates of the original character. Their crafty, intelligent, and foxy personality saves the day, and they achieve their own happy ending.

But what if you're not crafty, foxy and intelligent

Then what the hell would you do?

It's not like they send you to school for 'how to survive being transmigrated into a

completely different world with completely different people and oh also falling in love along the way'

THE FUCK DO I DO NOW?'

Pan Xiu realized he was fucked. Utterly, truly fucked. In case he reincarnated as the villain of this story, he wasn't sure if he could slide his way out of whatever horrible and gruesome end was waiting for him.

Another major problem arose. He didn't know what kind of story this was and who his character was supposed to be. He spent every brain cell, trying to remember any Master Yu from novels, games, or movies he watched. But he simply couldn't recall anything.

He ultimately decided to just wait it out, and let things play for themselves.

"MA WEI!!!! COME HERE!" He yelled at the poor servant who came rushing back with the same frightened look on his face as before, as if Pan Xiu would cut him up any instant and eat him.

"Uhm" Pan Xiu cleared his throat as he tried to question Ma Wei as nonchalantly as possible.

"What's my name?" he ultimately blurted out, as he found there was no other way to beat around the question.

"Um, Master Yu, this lowly servant cannot possibly gain the honor of addressing Master by his full name." Ma Wei looked suspicious yet puzzled as he tried to understand what his Master was trying to achieve.

"You see, uh, this is a test. This Master wants to ensure that his servants recognize who they work for, for which they always

remember their status." Pan Xiu pulled out a cocky face, just so that Ma Wei doesn't think anything weird.

"Of course, Master Yu, this servant will always serve and bow before Master Yu-Zhen, elder of the prestigious Yu An Peak." Ma Wei gave his deepest bow to respect Pan Xiu, while he worried that Ma Wei might actually break his back if he kept bowing before him.

"This Master is pleased by Ma Wei's demeanor. So, tell me, what shall we do today?" Pan Xiu wanted to get out of the confined space and venture outside, so he could figure out his situation more clearly.

"Master Yu shall rest and recover today. The elders are concerned about him and have advised the servants to take care of any needs that shall arise."

"I feel fine now, no need for the concern, although, convey to the elders that I appreciate it. This Master rather feels like taking a stroll outside."

"Whatever Master Yu wishes, this servant shall help Master get dressed"

-

As soon as Pan Xiu stepped out of his room, he felt as if he was transported to another world. His room opened into a long hallway, whose walls had intricate designs of blue and golden. There were murals drawn on the walls, which showcased the ocean, clouds, and the sun. It looked absolutely marvelous. This seemed to be a common theme, Pan Xiu noted. Aside from his personal room, everything outside looked majestic.

The corridor led him to a yard, filled with people wandering here and there. Some of these people wore grand robes of various colors, entering other corridors and hallways that opened into the yard, with servants carrying manuscripts and books hurrying behind them, while some of them stood on the side, chattering amongst themselves. It was clearly a busy day, as no one had even noticed Pan Xiu and Ma Wei joining this crowd of people moving around, which was good for him since he would have absolutely no idea what to say to other people.

Pan Xiu stood amazed watching these people, it looked like a scene straight from the show he had been filming, except that it was actually real. These people, this place was real.

A youth approached him with a bright smile. He was wearing a fitted dark blue robe that cinched at his waist and his arms. A wide golden belt closed around his waist.

"Shizun!" He bowed in respect. A few other youths also approached Pan Xiu with merry smiles and wide, bright eyes. The group of youths looked like they were in their teens, not young children, but not adults as well.

"How is Shizun feeling now? We disciples had been worried sick since we heard about Shizun's injury." The youth from earlier continued.

"I feel alright now, no worries" Pan Xiu stated with a faint smile.

God damn, I feel like an old geezer in front of these kiddos.
