Chapter 1 - I'm an admirable actor

"And.... CUT!!!"

The sound of the clapboard broke the tension that was visibly present on the entire production team. The budget was extremely high for such a mediocre story, which made every second of filming valuable.

"Great job Xiu, all that's left now is to film the end scene. Let's wrap up for today!" The director clapped his hands, while giving directions to the staff.

Pan Xiu, one of the most, if not the most famous actors of his country. He gathered fame due his memorable performances, determination he showed to each and every of his roles and of course, because he had an exceptionally beautiful face. He was considered a literal god; a god that could increase the TRP with just a glance of his character. Every TV show, movie he was in would end up a massive success. That was the reason why producers and directors were practically on their knees, begging him to cast a microscopic ray his holy charisma, which would bring out the viewers.

But the reality was that, his holy charisma was nothing more than a egoistic and haughty personality, which he carefully altered, letting the people see the sides only as he allowed to let them.

Pan Xiu walked off the set, letting the makeup artists and staff run and catch up to him as he began ripping off his wig, which costed a fortune itself.

"Mr Xiu! Please handle the wig carefully, the costume designer would literally eat us alive if he found out that the wig was damaged again" One of the staff member explained, while trying to catch up to him, struggling to walk in her heels.

"Why should I care what that old hag thinks? She should've checked with me before she bought this itchy ass wig, which somehow costs THAT much." Pan Xiu yelled back.

After the deal with with itchy wig, Pan Xiu sighed as he finally sat down in his private vanity van.

'It's finally coming to an end' He thought to himself.

'It' referred to the TV show he had been cast in. Pan Xiu had been playing the main character of the show, named Liu Xiang. The story is set in a fantastical world where gods, demons, and mortals coexist in a complex celestial hierarchy along with cultivation of martial arts and spiritual powers. It's a story of revenge and vengeance, of love and hope. Though, it's written quite poorly. Pan Xiu always thought the story was quite cliché, the main character was your typical wronged child who suffered at the hands of his peers and adults. The side characters were all blinded by the protagonist halo and felt quite one dimensional, with no real motives besides helping the main character. The same thing applied to the female lead, though she was bold at first, she melted after falling in love with Liu Xiang and became fragile and delicate . The only reason why Pan Xiu had agreed to play the role of Liu Xiang was because the job offered a high pay, and the budget was high, thus making the set and hence the whole TV show, look ethereal and majestic. The artistic beauty of the show and of course, the presence on Pan Xiu as the main character himself, made it quite popular.

'I can finally look at other job offers now that it's ending though. I would rather die than wear that trashy wig again.' Pan Xiu grabbed an potato chip as he opened his phone to look at stuff.

Little did he know, that the little potato chip that he ate would inevitably end up changing his fate. How will a potato chip change the destiny of such a big A-List actor, you might ask. Well, it will probably involve the fact that after eating this very potato chip, the world renowned actor, would choke and die.

'BREAKING NEWS; THE NOTORIUS, PRMONINENT, INFAMOUS, NOTED, LOVED, ADMIRABLE, VALUED AND RESPECTED STAR, PAN XIU, DIED BY CHOKING IN HIS PRIVATE VAN'

.

pfft. Of all the respectable deaths that one might experience, choking would be number one on the list of the top 10 lamest way to ever die.

Choking on a potato chip, however, you might as well just save your dignity and just leave without a trace.
