Chapter 7 - Infiltration

After suffering great, irreversible humiliation, Tobey forced himself to refocus on his mission.

First—he needed to hide the frog. That problem could wait.

Next, this naked ape had to get inside the kitchen and find his tools.

But after rummaging through drawers, cabinets, and shelves… nothing.

No sign of his tools.

Annoyance rising, he took a quick peek into the living room, scanning for the shed key.

His mother was still there.

No key retrieval today.

[Tobey, sighing]

"Let it be. First, I need my clothes. On to the hallway, it is."

He slipped out of the kitchen. The target: the basement.

His clothes were down there. The problem? The only way to the basement was beyond the door leading through the living room.

All he had to do… was sneak through without making a sound.

Simple, right?

But we all know Tobey.

This was never going to go smoothly.

He slipped out of the kitchen and into the hallway.

[Tobey, whispering to himself]

"Here goes nothing."

And then—he broke into a full-on Hidden Leaf ninja sprint down the hallway.

Silent. Precise. A shadow in the night.

And guess what?

He did it.

For the first time in history, Tobey actually succeeded in something stealth-related.

But there was no time to celebrate.

He bolted down the stairs.

Meanwhile, back in the living room—

[Mom, frowning, looking up from the TV]

"…What was that?"

Tobey? No. Couldn't be.

He was supposed to be locked in his room like a prisoner.

A prisoner, according to her dear husband's genius idea.

[Mom, muttering]

"On paper, that makes me the villain... Anyway, it's peaceful without him."

Pause.

A sigh.

[Mom, softer this time]

"But I miss my little demon."

So… Dad was the villain all along?

Here I was thinking he was just a good-for-nothing background character, but no—he's been orchestrating events from the shadows.

Back to Tobey…

He found his clothes, but something felt… off.

They were baggy.

[Tobey, frowning]

"This is new."

Still, no time to question it. He put them on—

And then—

[Old Priest Voice]

A holy light struck down from the heavens, illuminating the path for young Tobey.

And there it was.

The blessed bottle of X9000 Floor Cleaner.

And his sacred, long-lost chemical.

[Tobey, eyes shining]

"Thank you, Lord, for your mercy."

[God]

"HAHAHAHAHA."

[Tobey, determined]

"Now, I need to get back to my room."

Tobey removed the fresh clothes he had just put on, slipping back into his dirty, wet underwear.

The ninja run commenced.

Kitchen—clear.

Backyard—clear.

And then—

THUD.

Tobey hit the ground. Hard.

The same rock.

The same mistake.

Fate… had repeated itself.

His face? Full of dirt.

Tobey, wordless, rose to his feet.

Without a sound, without resistance—he walked over to the drainpipe.

He stood under it.

Water rushed down, washing the dirt from his face.

He closed his eyes.

And in that moment—he understood.

The price he had paid for his chemicals.

With his face finally cleansed, the naked ape ascended once more—back to his dungeon.

His goal? A small spray bottle and a napkin.

Mission in progress.

Once armed with his tools, he descended again—this time, careful.

He would not repeat his past mistake.

Not again.

The ninja run commenced.

Backyard—clear.

Kitchen—clear.

Hallway—clear.

And back to the base of operations.

Now armed with a spray bottle, Tobey got to work.

A bit of his secret chemical.

A dash of X9000 Floor Cleaner.

A splash of paint remover.

A few careful shakes, and—

The sleeping spray was complete.

Now, he just needed a test subject.

And then it hit him.

The frog.

Sitting in the backyard, trapped in a container, waiting for him.

[Tobey, grinning]

"That frog would be a great subject for my sleep potion… and a perfect chance to bring him into the basement without making any noise."

The ninja run commenced.

Basement stairs—clear.

But as he stepped into the hallway, his body tensed.

His ears caught something.

A sound.

A humming voice.

Coming from… the kitchen.
