Chapter 15 - Chp 15

The whole cabin suddenly began to shake violently...

The dining table in front of him suddenly disappeared, and Jon's unfinished breakfast also disappeared with it.

The violent shaking didn't stop until half a minute later, and Jon almost thought it was an earthquake.

However, the expected nuclear missile silo and nuclear missile did not appear... In fact, after the violent earthquake, the entire cabin was empty and nothing happened!

 This disappointed Jon.

It seems that the Room of Requirement should have tried its best, but it doesn't have the ability!

"Let's change to something lower-level..." Jon cleared his throat. "Then let's get a multiple rocket launcher that can cover the entire Hogwarts (including the Forbidden Forest) in 30 seconds. Either the Guardian or Tornado class will do!"

The violent vibration occurred again, and just when Jon almost fell to the ground; fortunately, a pillar suddenly appeared in front of him, allowing him to hold on to keep his balance.

That's all the Room of Requirement can do.

...

...

The expected rocket launcher still did not appear!

 "Fuck, even this isn't possible..."

"Then change to something lower-level... a Type 59 main battle tank!"

 "Still not working?"

"35mm Type 87 grenade launcher... this shouldn't be difficult..."

 "Change to... AK-47 assault rifle?"

 "The Type 92 semi-automatic pistol?"

 "A bayonet?"

 …

"Fuck, you can't even conjure up a bayonet?" Jon was getting a little restless.

At first he thought the Room of Requirement was not responding, so he repeated "a bayonet" several times... The result was the same as before, after a violent vibration, the entire room was empty.

"You think you can get whatever you want?" Jon rolled his eyes at the wall beside him helplessly: "You can't even conjure up a bayonet and a pistol!"

Suddenly, there were a few unpleasant screams coming from the wall... to be more precise, it sounded a bit like crying.

Then, a table appeared in front of Jon, and a bottle of Scotch whisky and a glass appeared out of thin air on the table... The bottle poured a full glass of ale into the glass, and then the glass flew in front of Jon.

"Fuck, this room is filled with spirits!"

Just as he thought of this, Jon realized something!

Hogwarts was founded in 993 AD, which is 999 years ago; if nothing unexpected happens, the Room of Requirement should have been built during that period!

"Give me a set of Crusader armor and a sword!" he said seriously.

This time, the Room of Requirement gave an accurate response.

A set of heavy armor and a sharp long sword... appeared in front of Jon almost in an instant.

The armor was very heavy, and Jon had great difficulty lifting it. Although it certainly could not stop bullets, ordinary arrows might not be able to penetrate it. The long sword was also extremely sharp.

Jon threw the armor and sword aside, knowing that his guess was probably correct.

The Room of Requirement was built almost at the same time as Hogwarts. Its creator was probably one of the four founders of Hogwarts, or even more than one of them. Like the Sorting Hat, the powerful magic gave the Room of Requirement a certain amount of wisdom, but the scope of its wisdom and ability is consistent with that of its founder...

Therefore, anything that is ahead of its time, even a simple bayonet, cannot be provided by the Room of Requirement!

Jon used another method to verify this.

He asked the Room of Requirement for several books on "Defense against the Dark Arts", and the books immediately appeared: "Curses and Counter-Curses", "An Outline of Common Dark Arts and Their Defense", "The Complete Guide to Self-Protection Magic"... He carefully checked the publication dates of these books, and without exception, they were all published before the 9th and 10th centuries AD.

It seems that these books on defense against the dark arts are of little significance... Jon also threw them aside. The magic of a thousand years ago has been developed for who knows how many generations, and it must be very different from the present... It lacks effectiveness, and blindly learning will definitely lead to many detours.

With a wave of his hand, the armor, sword and books disappeared.

There were also huge silk cushions and several figures.

He raised the wand and started to practice the petrification spell...on those figures.

This is the only offensive spell that I can use at this stage. Although its lethality is not high, I still need to practice it to become more proficient... This way, I will have a certain ability to resist when I encounter the enemy.

 …

When we left the Room of Requirement, it was already eight o'clock.

The morning class time at Hogwarts is 8:30. The first class after school starts is Professor Minerva McGonagall's Transfiguration class, which Hufflepuff and Gryffindor take together.

The Transfiguration classroom was on the seventh floor of Hogwarts Castle. It only took Jon a few minutes to get here.

The door of the classroom was opened, and there was no one inside. It seemed that the first-year students of Gryffindor and Hufflepuff were still having breakfast in the cafeteria...

Except on the podium, there stood a tabby cat.

Jon did not dare to neglect it. He walked to the podium respectfully and bowed deeply to the cat.

 "Professor McGonagall."

The tabby cat glanced at Jon and nodded, but did not change into human form.

Jon found a front-row seat and opened his copy of Emery Switch's The Beginner's Guide to Transfiguration.

While flipping through the book aimlessly (he had memorized the contents of the book from beginning to end), he observed the tabby cat on the podium out of the corner of his eye.

Animagus is indeed a powerful magic. Professor McGonagall turned into this tabby cat, not only in appearance but also in physical habits. It can be said that she has acquired some of the cat's animal instincts.

But to Jon, this magic seemed to be of little significance.

After all, the transformation of Animagus is limited to non-magical creatures. The transformation of magical creatures (such as phoenixes, dragons, hippogriffs, etc.) will bring unpredictable consequences... So, turning into an animal not only cannot improve your combat effectiveness, but will turn you from a wizard who can fight with spells, into an ordinary animal that can only use claws and teeth.

More importantly, ordinary Transfiguration can also transform wizards into animals for a short period of time. Although the effect is not as good as Animagus; but if you only need to transform into an animal for reconnaissance, it seems to be enough... and the types are varied, unlike Animagus, which is not limited to one animal.

Not to mention that it takes several years to master the Animagus, and even after several years, there is still a high chance of failure, and it is also very dangerous. There were only seven Animagus registered in the entire 20th century, and there are probably only about 20 Animagus including those who were not registered. It can be said that it is a very difficult magic for ordinary wizards.

Simply put, the effort and benefits are totally disproportionate...
