CHAPTER 1
Min-joon POV
"Joeun achim"( good morning)(informal) I heard someone shout, I was trying to open my eyes when the sunlight hit them, I then used my hands to cover my eyes. I then opened my eyes when it adjusted to the sunlight.
I look up and saw Yoon ji-woo my best friend and also my secretary.
Aigoo ( Korean exclamation that express a range of emotions) 'what are you doing here' I shouted in frustration. 'Hey you should be thanking me' he replied I look at him, 'what do you mean I should be thanking you' , you just disrupted my sleep.
Well your highness you aren't suppose to be doing that in a Monday morning, you are supposed to wake up and get ready for work, he said while bowing.
Then realization hit me, Aigoo I shouted, I jumped out of bed and rushed to the bathroom, I thought it was Sunday 'Ahhh weekends don't seem to lasts' I thought.
I immediately brush my teeth and took a shower after I was done I went to my closet to pick and outfit, I picked my usual a black suit, I got dressed and went back to my room, ji-woo was sitting on couch and going through his iPad, probably checking my schedule.
'What's my schedule' I asked, first we are heading to the company for a meeting with the board about the new products then the interviews with the press then survey with the research team then dinner with family. He concluded.
Wait I said 'dinner with family? I questioned, yes he replied, when did that become part of my schedule, I was suppose to have a dinner meeting with Mr Martinez about our branch in new York right? I questioned, yes you were supposed to do that but your grandfather asked me to remove that from your schedule he wanted you to come home for dinner, as usual he complained and said all you ever do is work even on weekends and that you sleep very late and claim that you are trying to finish some work, ji-woo replied.
"Huh' I sighed, I think I already know what this family meeting is about I said, let's go ji-woo we are almost late, I said before heading out of my room with ji-woo behind me.
We went downstairs, I saw my family having breakfast, I thought they didn't notice me so I decided to just head out quietly "Min-joon" my grandfather shouted, ahhh am done for, I stopped for a while before looking at him ' where are you going' he asked , office I responded,' you haven't even had breakfast' he shouted again, 'am late so I have to go' I said "Aigoo this brat, come hear" he said, I looked at my parents for them to try to stop him but they didn't even look at me ahhh they always seem to be on his side, I knew if I went there I was surely gonna get hit by him, but what choice do I have, I sighed then I walked towards them.
I was two feet's away from him when he picked up his stick and tried to hit me, I was used to this so I doged as usual "ahhh you brat, all you ever do is work, get married for goodness sake, I want to see my grandchildren before I die' he said holding his chest pretending he is in pain. ' I'll ' I responded blankly ' that's what you always say' he shouted, " Aigoo grandpa let's have this conversation at dinner' I said, I immediately turn and ran out of the house before he could say another word, all I heard was him shouting " brat'.
Ji-woo opened the door to the backseat for me before he went to the driver seat and drive out of the house.
Ji-woo and I are best friends but at work we are just a boss and his employee. Mr Kim he called, today is the day of the interview for the new research team 4, he said. I hope this time they will hire responsible people' I replied.
'those people in research team 4 are so irresponsible' I said. Mr Kim you only saw them chatting twice Mr Yoon replied, well Mr Yoon are they suppose to do that I asked he was quiet before replying ' no sir'.
He parked in front of the company before giving the keys to one of the guards for him to park it at the parking lot we went into the company.
"Joeun achim imnida"(good morning)(formal) the employees greeted, as usual I only nodded, we headed directly to the meeting with the board, it was time already.
"Joeun achim imnida"(good morning)(formal)I greeted the board before taking my seat they all responded with"Joeun achim imnida", the head of research team 1 stood up and started the presentation, the research team 1 has came up with a new product " gimbap but with vegetables only' , the product was published because of vegetarians who can't eat gimbap due to the stuffings, so we decided why not make gimbap with vegetables only before he could continue I said ' where are the samples? He was quiet before saying we are yet to make them.
'so you came up with a presentation without samples? I questioned, 'president Kim, we are working on them, he replied I stood up and said ' don't ever repeat the mistake of doing a presentation without samples' I shouted before heading out of the meeting room.
I went to my office with Mr Yoon behind me, president Kim, I suggest to be a little more calm he said I looked at him angrily before saying ' I never asked for your suggestions.
I started working on some files but I couldn't concentrate anymore, ' when is the interview for the research team 4 members starting? I questioned Mr Yoon replied 10am sir.
'Tell the interviewer's I will also be there's I said, okay president Kim, he responded before heading out.
