Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: The New Legacy

Backstage – The Calm After the Storm

The night after their triumphant victory was a bittersweet one for Jaxon Cross. The WWE had been shaken to its core—its leadership, its superstars, its very foundation. The McMahon regime had fallen, and the future was now in the hands of those who had defied it. But as the adrenaline faded, a nagging thought lingered in the back of Jaxon's mind: What comes next?

In the aftermath of the epic battle, the rebel faction had proven its strength, but the world of WWE was never static. The old guard had been defeated, but the landscape was still changing, and the wrestling world had a way of testing those in power.

The locker room was filled with celebration—The Rock, Edge, Christian, and The Hardy Boyz shared stories, laughing and reliving the victory. But Jaxon found himself alone, staring at his reflection in the mirror. The weight of leadership had never been more apparent.

"You alright, Jaxon?" The voice of The Rock cut through his thoughts.

Jaxon turned around to see his long-time friend and ally standing in the doorway, a smile on his face, but his eyes showing the same concern that Jaxon had been feeling.

"Yeah, I'm good," Jaxon replied, though his voice was tinged with uncertainty. "It's just... now what?"

The Rock stepped into the room, leaning against the doorframe. "I get it. You've just brought down Vince McMahon. The company is yours, in a way. But power doesn't mean peace, Jaxon. Trust me, this is just the beginning. People are going to test you, and they won't stop until they know for sure if you can handle it."

Jaxon nodded. "I know. I'm ready for whatever comes next."

Monday Night Raw – A New Champion Emerges

The next week on Monday Night Raw, the air was electric. The fans had been buzzing with excitement since last week's victory, and now it was time to witness the next chapter of WWE history.

The show kicked off with Jaxon Cross in the ring, holding a microphone. The crowd erupted into cheers as the new face of WWE stepped into the spotlight, his voice carrying through the arena.

"This is it. This is the start of something new. Vince McMahon may have lost, but this is our company now. We're not going to just sit back and let things stagnate. The WWE needs new champions, new vision, and most importantly, it needs a future. And that future? It's in the hands of the ones who are ready to fight for it."

The crowd roared their approval, chanting "Jaxon! Jaxon!". Jaxon's eyes flickered with pride, but also with a deep understanding of the responsibility now resting on his shoulders.

Before he could continue, Shane McMahon's music hit. The fans went wild as Shane strode down to the ring, his face full of excitement.

"You did it, Jaxon. You really did it. You took this company back." Shane said, his voice full of admiration.

Jaxon extended his hand to Shane, shaking it firmly. "We did it. You played your part too, Shane."

Shane grinned. "You're not alone in this. But now, we need to make sure we have control. There's still a lot of work to be done."

Before Jaxon could respond, the lights went out. A familiar, haunting sound echoed through the arena—The Undertaker's bells tolled, and the arena was engulfed in darkness.

When the lights returned, The Undertaker stood in the middle of the ring, his cold, emotionless stare locked onto Jaxon. The atmosphere shifted instantly, and the crowd hushed in anticipation.

The Undertaker had never been one to play politics or align himself with anyone. He was a force of nature, and his very presence in the ring was a statement. But tonight, it felt different.

Jaxon's gaze met The Deadman's, his expression stoic. "What's this about, Taker?" he asked, his voice calm yet demanding.

The Undertaker's gravelly voice filled the arena. "The time of the rebels is over. You've taken down McMahon. But the question now is—can you handle what comes after?"

Jaxon raised an eyebrow. "What are you trying to say?"

The Undertaker stepped closer, his eyes never leaving Jaxon's. "I've seen men like you come and go. You think you've won the battle, but there's a storm brewing, Jaxon. The dead have risen. You've taken down McMahon, but I'm not sure you're ready for what's next. The old ways of WWE are dead, but the new era—well, that's still to be written."

Shane McMahon stepped forward, his usual confidence now tinged with concern. "We've fought too hard to let things spiral into chaos again. This is about the future, Taker. We need to control it, not let it slip into the hands of those who don't understand the fight."

The Undertaker shook his head. "You don't control destiny, Shane. It's time you learn that. Jaxon, you might be the future, but don't think for a second you won't have to earn it—every single day."

The atmosphere grew tense, the crowd unsure whether to cheer or boo. The Undertaker's words were a warning, a challenge—one that could not be ignored.

A New Threat – The Return of an Old Rival

The following weeks saw the formation of new rivalries and alliances. The Undertaker's cryptic warning stuck with Jaxon, who now found himself facing more challenges than ever before.

But it wasn't just the ominous words of The Deadman that made things more complicated. A new force was rising, one that was making its presence known in WWE: Brock Lesnar.

Lesnar's music hit one week during Raw, and the arena erupted in chaos as the Beast Incarnate made his way to the ring. Jaxon had never faced Lesnar before, and he knew this was a challenge that couldn't be taken lightly.

Brock stood at the top of the ramp, his eyes locked onto Jaxon in the ring. He raised a microphone, his voice deep and menacing.

"You think you've won, Cross? You think you're the future of this company? Well, let me remind you of something—you can't have a future without the beast. And I'm here to make sure you understand that."

Jaxon stood tall, his eyes never leaving Lesnar. "You want a piece of me, Brock? You got it. But I'm not going down easy. If you want to be the future of WWE, you're going to have to fight for it, just like I did."

The challenge was set, and the crowd erupted into cheers. The future of WWE was now tied to Jaxon's ability to overcome the Beast. But it wouldn't be just Brock Lesnar that Jaxon would need to watch out for. The power struggles were only beginning.

The New Legacy Takes Shape

As the weeks went by, Jaxon continued to defend his position at the top of WWE. The Brock Lesnar rivalry was intense, with both men pushing each other to their limits. But Jaxon was no longer just a fighter; he was a leader, and his influence was spreading throughout the locker room.

Superstars who had once been loyal to Vince McMahon were now starting to come to him, seeking guidance and a new direction. The revolution had sparked a fire in WWE, and the question now was how far that fire would spread.

And with The Undertaker looming as a symbol of the past, and Brock Lesnar as a symbol of the present, Jaxon knew that the future would be shaped by those willing to confront both the past and the present.

It was up to him to decide what kind of champion he would be—and what legacy he would leave behind.
