Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: The Coming Storm

Backstage – The Weight of the Legacy

The aftermath of Jaxon Cross's battle with The Undertaker was still fresh in the air. The WWE Universe had witnessed an epic clash, one where Jaxon had fought with every ounce of his being, only to be defeated by the dark force that was The Undertaker. But the respect that had been earned in that ring couldn't be denied. Jaxon's place in WWE was more solidified than ever—but so was the looming presence of greater challenges.

Backstage, the locker room buzzed with murmurs. Jaxon Cross walked down the hall, still feeling the sting of the loss, but his mind was already on what came next. He had survived The Undertaker's gauntlet, but the true test had only just begun.

As he approached the locker room, he was greeted by a group of WWE superstars. The Rock was there, along with Kurt Angle and John Cena. There was no mistaking the look in their eyes—it wasn't pity. It was recognition.

"You did good out there, Jaxon," Cena said, his voice genuine. "I've seen a lot of guys face The Undertaker. Most of them don't come out of it looking the same. You're still standing."

The Rock nodded. "That's right. You went toe-to-toe with the Deadman and walked out with your head held high. That's something most people can't say."

Jaxon gave them a thankful nod, but his mind wasn't on the praise. It was on the future. The uncertainty that lay ahead. "Thanks, guys. But I know this isn't over. The Undertaker's words still linger, and I'm sure he's not the only one who has their sights set on me."

John Cena stepped forward, his usual bravado replaced with a rare seriousness. "You're right. The landscape of WWE is always shifting, and with that comes new challenges. But don't forget—you're not alone. You've got allies here. The future is yours, but it's not going to be easy. We've all fought for what we've got. Now it's your turn."

Jaxon looked around at the faces of men and women who had built legacies in this very company, the ones who knew the struggles better than anyone. For a moment, he allowed himself to absorb their words. They had fought, bled, and broken for everything they had, and now it was his turn to carry that torch forward.

As he turned to leave, The Rock called out to him once more. "One last thing, Jaxon. If you're going to survive the storm that's coming, make sure you don't get caught in it alone. Choose your allies wisely."

Monday Night Raw – The Storm Unleashed

The air in the arena was thick with anticipation. Monday Night Raw had become more than just a wrestling show—it had turned into a battleground where the fate of WWE was being decided in real-time. And tonight, it would be no different.

Jaxon Cross had one mission: to prove that he was not just a flash-in-the-pan champion. He had faced Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker—two of the most dominant forces in WWE—and survived. But the threats didn't stop there.

Jaxon made his way to the ring, his expression hardened. He wasn't here to entertain. He was here to dominate, to show that his place at the top was more than just a title—it was his destiny. The crowd cheered as he grabbed the microphone, his voice firm and commanding.

"WWE Universe," Jaxon said, pausing for a moment as the crowd settled. "I've faced some of the greatest legends in this business, but the truth is, I've barely scratched the surface. I've earned respect. But tonight, I'm going to show you all that the future is already here. The storm is coming, and I will be its eye."

Before he could continue, the arena went dark. The unmistakable sound of tolling bells filled the air, sending a wave of electricity through the crowd. The Undertaker's haunting music echoed, but no one appeared. The lights flickered, and when they came back on, the ring was empty—except for a single black rose lying in the center.

Jaxon's expression hardened, his fists clenched. The Deadman had issued his warning, and now Jaxon knew that the darkness wasn't just a metaphor. It was a force that would haunt him until he faced it head-on.

The Arrival of a New Threat – Edge and Randy Orton

As if The Undertaker's ominous presence wasn't enough, a new wave of chaos arrived. During Jaxon's backstage interview later that evening, Edge and Randy Orton, two of the most calculating and dangerous men in WWE, approached him. Their eyes gleamed with a mixture of interest and rivalry.

"You know, Jaxon," Edge said, his voice smooth as silk, "you've made quite the name for yourself around here. But do you really think you're ready to take on the entire WWE? The storms that are coming won't just be from The Undertaker. You've got a lot of enemies waiting in the wings."

Randy Orton stepped forward, his cold eyes never leaving Jaxon's face. "The Undertaker may be a legend, but legends fall, Jaxon. We're not here to watch you fail. We're here to make sure you do."

Jaxon, who had been quietly listening, stared at them with a mix of defiance and amusement. "You think you can intimidate me with words? I've faced worse than both of you combined. But if you think you can take me out, come at me."

Edge smirked. "We're not here to fight you, Jaxon. Not yet. But just know, if you want to survive this storm, you can't do it alone."

Jaxon raised an eyebrow. "I don't need anyone. I've done this by myself since day one."

Orton chuckled softly, his voice dripping with venom. "Then you're a fool. No one makes it to the top of WWE without help. And if you keep going down this road alone, you won't make it much further."

The two men turned to leave, leaving Jaxon with more questions than answers. Was Edge right? Could he afford to stand alone against the coming storm?

The Unexpected Ally – Seth Rollins

Later that night, as Jaxon made his way to his locker room, he was stopped by Seth Rollins, the self-proclaimed Architect of WWE. Seth had been on a journey of his own, having navigated the complexities of the business and carved out his own place at the top. His reputation as a manipulator and tactician was well-known, and his eyes burned with intensity as he looked Jaxon up and down.

"I've been watching you, Jaxon," Seth said, his voice low. "You've got the skills, the attitude, the heart. But you're not thinking clearly. Edge and Orton are right about one thing—you can't do this alone."

Jaxon narrowed his eyes. "And what do you want, Seth?"

Seth smiled. "I want what's best for business. I've seen guys like you—guys with the potential to change everything. But if you're going to survive what's coming, you need someone who's willing to get their hands dirty. And I'm willing to do that."

Jaxon hesitated. "Why should I trust you?"

Seth's smile widened. "Because, Jaxon, if you want to be the future of WWE, you can't do it alone. I can show you how to navigate the chaos. Together, we can take down anyone who stands in our way."

Jaxon was silent for a moment, the weight of Seth's words sinking in. Perhaps he wasn't as invincible as he thought. Maybe it was time to rethink his strategy.

"Alright, Rollins," Jaxon said with a firm nod. "Let's see where this alliance takes us."
