Chapter 14: The Missing Girl
Teitan Junior High School.
While eating the cake in her hand, Sonoko Suzuki said to Ran, "Hey, Ran! Have you heard that there's a pervert going around who specializes in capturing young girls recently? Lots of people have disappeared! It's so creepy~" She shuddered after saying that.
Ran frowned, a worried look on her face. "Really? That's terrible! What's happened to the missing people? Have they been found?"
Sonoko shook her head and continued eating her cake, answering vaguely, "I don't know. The police are investigating, but there hasn't been any progress so far. And this pervert seems to be very cunning and always manages to evade the police."
...
After school, the classmates went their separate ways, but Ran Mouri walked home alone. She moved with light steps through the bustling crowd, but a sense of unease lingered in her heart. Ran frowned and glanced back from time to time, as if she could feel a pair of eyes watching her from behind. This feeling frightened her, and she couldn't help but quicken her pace, trying to shake off the invisible pressure.
As Ran Mouri walked, she observed her surroundings vigilantly. The trees lining the street swayed their branches in the breeze, creating a rustling sound. Her heartbeat gradually accelerated, and her breathing became rapid. With each step she took, the feeling of being followed intensified. Ran Mouri stopped abruptly, turned around, and scanned the road behind her. However, apart from a few pedestrians and passing vehicles, nothing seemed out of the ordinary. She breathed a sigh of relief, thinking that perhaps she was just being overly sensitive. But when she turned around again and prepared to continue walking, the unsettling feeling of being watched washed over her once more.
Ran Mouri felt a chill crawl up her spine, and she decided not to simply wait for something bad to happen. She broke into a run, wanting to get home as quickly as possible. Her footsteps echoed in the quiet street, a testament to her inner panic and anxiety. She didn't know who was following her, nor did she understand their purpose. This uncertainty filled her with terror.
But the footsteps behind Ran Mouri grew closer and closer, like a death knell, constantly jangling her nerves. Ran Mouri didn't know how long she had been running, but she knew she couldn't stop because she could sense the person behind her gaining on her. She didn't dare look back and could only sprint forward desperately.
Finally, Ran Mouri couldn't resist glancing back and saw a man wearing a tattered coat, sunglasses, and a black mask chasing her at an alarming speed. His steps were steady and powerful, as if each footfall landed directly on Ran Mouri's heart. Ran Mouri's heart clenched as she realized that this man was likely the stalker, and he seemed to have discovered that she was aware of him.
However, Ran Mouri hadn't run much further before the man caught up to her. She stopped and turned around, her eyes filled with vigilance and hostility, her hands clenched into fists in a karate stance, ready to defend herself at any moment. She knew that the man in front of her might pose a threat, but she wouldn't show weakness easily.
Suddenly, the man raised his hand, and a puff of powder erupted from his grasp. Ran Mouri had no time to react and was completely unprepared. She only saw a white blur before her eyes and inhaled a significant amount of the powder.
Ran Mouri suddenly felt dizzy, and a wave of heat surged through her chest. She knew something was wrong, and her body began to tremble uncontrollably. The scenery before her eyes started to blur.
She bit her lip hard, trying to clear her head, but found it was no use.
Oh no! What's happening to me? Was I drugged by that man? Ran Mouri cried out silently in her heart.
Just then, she suddenly felt a hand reaching out from behind, attempting to grab her. Summoning all her remaining strength, Ran Mouri lashed out with a kick, striking the man behind her and knocking him to the ground.
Seizing this opportunity, Ran Mouri turned and fled. Her steps were unsteady, and she looked as if she might collapse at any moment, but she still gritted her teeth and ran forward desperately.
"Damn it... I can't stop... I can't let that guy succeed..." Ran Mouri gasped, struggling to maintain her balance.
She didn't know where she could run to; she only knew that she had to get away from that dangerous place as quickly as possible. She hoped to find a safe haven to wait out the effects of the drug or find a way to call for help.
Chapter 15: Conan Gets Cuckolded
"I like to eat braised wings..." Lin Yu hummed a cheerful tune, feeling particularly content.
"Hehe, not bad. I caught two wild snakehead fish today. I'll go home and make pickled fish for my wife."
At that moment, a heavy and chaotic sound of footsteps suddenly approached from the distance, as if someone was running frantically. Then, a staggering figure burst out of the darkness and collided directly with Lin Yu.
The figure appeared very weak and looked as if they might collapse at any moment. Lin Yu, with quick reflexes, swiftly reached out and held the person tightly, preventing them from falling.
"Huh? Isn't this Ran? Why is she here?" Lin Yu's eyes widened in surprise as he looked at the person in his arms, his face etched with confusion. He wondered why Ran Mouri had suddenly appeared here.
"Help, save me..." Ran Mouri used the last vestiges of her strength to utter the plea, and then her body went limp. Lin Yu hurriedly tightened his grip to support her. He noticed that Ran Mouri's body was alarmingly hot. Sweat poured down her forehead. Her eyes were unfocused, and her lips were slightly parted. She seemed to want to speak, but she couldn't form coherent words. Her head was swimming, and her face grew increasingly flushed, as if she would lose consciousness any second.
Just then, the man who had been chasing her also arrived. He stopped a short distance from Lin Yu, panting heavily. Then, with a swift motion, he produced a gleaming dagger from his pocket with his right hand. A ferocious expression contorted his face as he threatened Lin Yu fiercely, "Boy, I advise you not to interfere in other people's business! Otherwise, you'll regret it!"
"Idiot!" Lin Yu's eyes turned cold. With a casual flick of his wrist, an incomparably powerful gust of wind erupted, as fierce as a raging dragon. The unfortunate man had no time to react before the gale slammed into him with brutal force. His body instantly lost all control and was swept into the air like a fragile leaf, disappearing into the clouds in the blink of an eye.
The man was propelled thousands of meters into the sky, surrounded by endless emptiness and frigid air currents. Without any support or hope of rescue, only death awaited him.
As he ascended higher, the air grew thinner, and the temperature plummeted dramatically. The man's breathing became labored, and his consciousness gradually faded. Finally, his body plummeted weakly from the sky, streaking across the heavens like a falling meteor, and vanished upon the vast expanse of the earth.
"Ms. Mouri, how are you? Are you alright?" Lin Yu called out anxiously, his voice filled with concern and worry. He looked at Ran Mouri and couldn't shake off a feeling of unease.
Ran Mouri's face was unusually flushed, and her breathing was shallow and rapid. "It's so hot... so uncomfortable..." Ran Mouri murmured to herself, her voice slightly hoarse. Her trembling fingers fumbled with the buttons of her clothes, trying to loosen them, but she seemed too weak to manage it.
"I'll take you to the hospital..." Lin Yu said, his voice laced with distress as he looked at the frail girl in his arms. But before he could finish his sentence, his mouth was unexpectedly met by a pair of soft lips.
His eyes flew open, unable to believe what was happening, but the gentle touch and hot breath were undeniably real, and his heartbeat quickened involuntarily.
"To hell with it!" Lin Yu gritted his teeth. He wasn't Liu Xiahui, the legendary paragon of virtue. There was no reason for him to refuse such a tempting offer. Lin Yu quickly scanned their surroundings and noticed that one of the nearby houses appeared empty. He surmised that the homeowner might be away traveling. This was simply an opportunity presented to him by fate!
Lin Yu was delighted and kicked the door of the seemingly empty house open. Then, he held Ran Mouri tightly and rushed inside as quickly as he could.
Once inside, Lin Yu swiftly closed and locked the door, then couldn't wait to begin his intimate encounter with Ran Mouri. For a while, the room was filled with the sights and sounds of passion, accompanied by Ran Mouri's beautiful and melodious moans, which continued in waves.
At the same time, Conan, who had already rendered Kogoro Mouri unconscious with an anesthetic dart and was about to begin his deductions, touched his head in confusion. He had just felt something soft land on his head.
