Chapter 6: My Possession of the Unforgivable Spells Is Not a Sign of Extremism

"Most wizards have died trying to discover new magic, little wizard. You wouldn't want to be parted from your loved ones at your age, would you?"

Fierce eyes glared at Dylan from Ollivander's direction.

Dylan blinked.

In fact, he thought that if he actually did want to research new spells, nothing horribly awful would necessarily happen.

This was due to the fact that he understood the three Unforgivable Curses at full level.

The three Unforgivable Curses, as powerful attacking spells in themselves, were too broad. And since he had mastered such dangerous spells at full level, how could other spells be more dangerous than these three?

There might have been, but definitely not many.

"I see, sir. Thank you for reminding me." Dylan nodded.

Although he thought that learning new spells could not be as dangerous as Ollivander said, he was not going to continue doing so until he had comprehended the whole magical system.

For in Ollivander's words, he heard one sentence—magic has its own spirituality.

And uncontrolled magic would always have a tendency towards chaos.

If he did not have enough ability to suppress and control magic.

Too much exploration and research might form an Obscurus.

"These are not even afraid of the three Unforgivable Curses. I'd better be careful."

Ollivander, having received Dylan's promise, continued to look for an appropriate wand for him.

"You're really a. well, let me see, very brave, yes, you're a very brave young wizard."

Ollivander took down three wand boxes from the shelves, then went to the back of the store, bringing seven more, placing them one by one on the table.

"So, I could have guessed what kind of wand would suit you best."

"Let's try these three first." Ollivander pointed to the far right wand boxes.

Dylan tried them one at a time.

As he was doing this, Ollivander couldn't help but comment, "Young wizard, do you know why I've been having you test out different wands?"

"It's probably to lead me to the one that feels like home for me, the one that works best with me, and can balance the magic in my body, right?"

Dylan extracted a beautifully crafted wand and flipped it over softly, causing a small explosion of fire.

"Oh, well said!"

Ollivander's eyes lit up, and he closed the three right-hand wand boxes slowly.

"Try those over there."

"Everything you said was true. A good wand is significant, but their true implication is that they can severely limit you from doing wild magic."

While he spoke, Dylan tried two more wands, but Ollivander was not happy.

"Please continue, sir."

"Young wizards always try to release the magic in their bodies without control when they are unfamiliar with spells."

Ollivander gave Dylan another wand, his voice being complex, his eyes slightly tilted, looking up at the ceiling.

"If this arbitrary magical chaos is not channeled in the right way, such as through the use of spells, it's sure to have some really terrible consequences, such as what you just did. This one still doesn't suit you."

Ollivander handed out the fourth wand.

"This way, the thought is that wands will limit young wizards from blindly funneling their magic into the wrong things until they learn spells."

"I see." Dylan nodded, waving the wand, and another explosion was caused.

It looked as though he was becoming an expert at explosives.

"It's okay, there are many more wands." Ollivander smiled, issuing another wand.

Dylan took it.

The moment he touched it, Dylan's spirits brightened.

For he could feel the magic flowing through his body being awakened by this wand.

Nearly without any hindrance, the magic charged the wand.

The wand, having digested the magic, spat out a dark, deep light from its tip.

The dark light, like hellish abyssal tentacles, whirled around Dylan twice.

This surprised him.

He nearly thought he had unconsciously spoken an Unforgivable Curse.

But the dark light promptly dissipated and didn't last.

Ollivander, having this sight, an eyebrow was raised, flashing a set of teeth: "Haha, thirteen and a quarter inches, yew, Thestral tail hair. Death and power will travel with you, young wizard, it seems."

"My prediction came true. You're the type of wizard who's incredibly gifted but can easily fall into the wrong path and get onto a one-way track."

Dylan:.

Seriously, shouldn't you be informing a young wizard about things like this in person?

Dylan really needed to roll his eyes.

But he didn't.

"It's because of those horrible Unforgivable Curses! How could I possibly have been an extremist?!"

He just plainly just wanted to make some investments and live the rest of his life peacefully after being reincarnated into this world!

"Thestral tail hairs are hard to find nowadays. These are all my early work, and so are those."

Ollivander presented Dylan with another wand.

"Back then, I was plagued by strange rumors. That legendary wand gave me the inspiration, which is why these wands were created."

"But since then, they have never found a master to master them."

Ollivander let out a soft sigh.

Dylan blinked.

The mythic wand?

The Elder Wand?

His eyes flared, and he asked casually, "Thestrals? Magical beasts?"

"These wands would not have the same Thestral tail hair core, would they? Good heavens, did you pull all the hair from that Thestral, sir?"

"Oh, haha! No."

Ollivander grinned and shook his head.

"In fact, when I was younger, I would have liked to imitate the phenomenal power of that legendary wand. So, these are the strongest tail feathers I utilized to make the cores when I executed and captured a Thestral."

Ollivander went on, "Of course, murdering them at will is not allowed nowadays. Don't learn from me, young wizard."

Dylan knew that magical animals were nothing but magical resources to be used as and when a wizard pleased.

It was only later on that magical creatures were hunted in large numbers, and the wizarding world had to adopt a sustainable development policy.

Wizards who looked after magical animals like Hagrid were not the norm.

Dylan got a headache when he thought that all the wands that he had tried were fakes manufactured by Ollivander through the use of the Elder Wand.

These wands, thankfully, did not cause any problems.

They did not burst with any other odd effects in his hands.

And these wands were also not made from the same Thestral tail hairs.

Otherwise, he would have to consider how to buy all these wands.
