New Night Village
Dawn
It's vague and somewhat simple, I don't know what's happening, but it's extremely beautiful. I don't remember when it happened, nor do I remember anything from my previous life, if I ever had one, but I have this strange and inexplicable feeling that tells me I've already lived a life. It may sound silly or stupid on my part, but I don't know what I am, and this place I find myself in now proves it... I remember when I asked for the first time...
****
"It is known as the soul, a mysterious place with great meaning behind it, but the most important thing to understand is that the soul is a sacred place for every person. The soul is full of mysteries and many things still need to be explained, but what is known is that the soul is where our ability to use mana comes from. Similarly, as long as one cannot use mana, they will never be able to access their own soul."
"But... don't tell me you managed to enter!" Old Colder's eyes widened in shock...
"I think so." At that time, I was 7 years old... it was just another night. When I opened my eyes, the first thing I saw was a vast dark place that seemed infinite. In that black sky, there were no stars providing light, the only thing that glowed was the sea beneath my feet.
"Another genius has appeared in our little village!" Old Colder sounded like a child while clapping loudly.
****
Nox lowered his gaze, and the first thing he saw was the familiar shadow chicken. He crouched down while looking at it. "This chicken is somehow special." The place where he first saw it was right here. In fact, it was as if he had been waiting for it for a long time... "The presence... no, the shadow of the chicken in this place looks vaster and deeper," he murmured to himself.
In reality, he didn't have much to do in this place... after all, old Colder didn't know much about the soul and what possibilities it held within it... But Nox was different. Unconsciously, he raised one of his hands, and he could feel how the shadows around him moved slightly. After a few seconds, he could see how the shadows fluttered around his hand... frowning slightly, the other shadows in the place surrounded him completely.
"It's a strange feeling, like my body has completely disappeared." Nox raised his hand, looking at it. His hand was completely covered by shadows, and it was impossible to tell if there was skin there before. At the same time, he somehow felt much stronger, something that was intoxicating. When he lowered his head... this place was dark, but there was a glow beneath his feet.
It took the shape of a glowing violet halo, moving slowly as if it were beneath some liquid. He could feel that the halo was looking back at him, and another familiar sensation passed through his body...
I don't remember, but my body does. I don't know what I'm doing, but my body moves unconsciously, as if it knows what to do in this place...
A feeling of loss and confusion, a feeling of familiarity and serenity, very conflicting thoughts swirled in my mind as I entered my soul... silently observing the place...
"Do you know who I am?" Nox asked randomly to the shadow chicken, which somehow was on his shoulder...
The chicken moved its beak and looked at him deeply...
Nox felt embarrassed for asking a silly question to the chicken, but he felt he could understand what it was talking about. The problem was that he couldn't speak.
"..." Nox sighed and laid down on the cold ground...

"Damn... that really sounds too terrifying, I hope I never run into one of them," Olivia frowned while skillfully cutting vegetables with a small knife...
"Right!?" Ana shuddered and closed her eyes tightly.
"I don't think they'd be interested in a small village like ours... right!?" Andre said, a bit worried while trying to cheer himself up...
"I don't know, but... according to old Colder, human life is enough to catch their attention," Elias frowned...
The four children fell silent... each one was taking care of a small task inside the church... for example, the little Ana, with her short black hair and green eyes, wearing a small dress, was in charge of watering the plants in the garden. Olivia, with brown hair and orange eyes, was peeling the few fruits, potatoes, and vegetables. Andre, with short black hair and gray eyes, was a bit older than them. With some muscle, he was in charge of bringing firewood for the fire. And finally, Elias, with black hair and brown eyes, was thinner than Andre, and his job was to collect vegetables, fruits, and potatoes from the small village crops...
They were all in the backyard of the small church...
"Nox is also going to the capital..." The silence was broken by Ana. She lowered her head sadly and clutched her small hands. Olivia looked at her "little sister" and also felt a bit sad. After all, Nox was like an older brother to her, always responsible and working harder than anyone...
Sigh... "It can't be helped! After all, Nox is the pride of this village!" Elias' eyes shone quietly. "I'll also do my best."
"Charlotte was the same, but look at her now! She's the adopted daughter of a rich family, and hasn't sent us a letter in years!" Andre mocked... he turned his head slightly, "But I know Nox is different! He'll help us... and won't forget about us!"
"Right! The human Nox always worries about us." Ana stopped being depressed and got a little closer to the group. She looked around to make sure no one could hear her: "You know... I heard that Nox works extra hard so we can eat better! I'm serious! I heard it from Sister Jenny," Ana said with her head down, trying to look serious, though it was adorable the way she said it.
"Of course! I won't fall behind, I'll also be able to use mana, I swear to the goddess." Andre got excited and stood up while clenching his fist tightly.
"Impossible, first you have to learn to read if you want to learn anything." Olivia didn't miss the opportunity to mock Andre.
"Hey!" Andre was outraged and stared at Olivia in disbelief...
"Hahaha!" Ana was the first to laugh.
The atmosphere quickly became lively...
