"You're overthinking it, Doflamingo."
Chris stood calmly with his arms crossed and said indifferently, "But we will become partners in the future. That part is true."
"Oh..."
Doflamingo looked intrigued, then grinned.
"Kid, you're talking about cooperating with me? Let's hear it then."
"I love cooperation the most! Fufufufufufu~~"
Chris remained expressionless. "It won't be long before I become a Warlord of the Sea. When that happens, we'll form an organization."
"The Seven Warlords Alliance!!"
Hearing this, Doflamingo couldn't help but laugh maniacally, like a madman.
"Fufufufufufu..."
"Kid, that was hilarious. You actually made me laugh out loud."
But suddenly, his gaze turned cold, veins bulging on his face as he snarled:
"Just a brat like you, dreaming of becoming a Warlord? Don't make me laugh."
"Cooperate with me? You think you're worthy? What a joke."
Hearing Doflamingo's arrogance, Burgess was pissed.
"Captain, this bastard is too arrogant. Let's just fight!"
"If he won't submit, then we'll beat him until he does!"
Lafitte twirled his cane, smiling slightly. "Well, he is a powerful Warlord. If we want to talk cooperation, we'll have to show our strength first."
Perona flew around, pouting unhappily.
"Whatever his name is, I already find him super annoying."
The Sweetheart Queen chuckled, answering her.
"His name is Doflamingo."
Baccarat smiled gently as she looked around and suggested,
"This battle is unavoidable. We'd better back off—don't want to get caught in the crossfire."
"These are two monsters going at it. It's dangerous to be too close."
After saying that, she turned and walked away from the battlefield.
Bepo looked anxiously at Law.
"Captain, what do we do?"
"We fall back," Law said seriously.
After thinking it through, he realized Chris was indeed strong, and decided not to sneak away.
Very soon, everyone had moved aside, leaving the space for Chris and Doflamingo.
"There's no point in talking anymore."
Chris remained calm.
"Let's fight first. Let strength do the talking."
Doflamingo grinned wildly, his demeanor utterly arrogant.
"It's been a while since I met such a cocky brat. Looks like the great pirate era is really here. Fufufufufu..."
"Dance, little brat. Just don't die too quickly."
"Five Color Strings!"
Without hesitation, Doflamingo flicked his right hand, unleashing a fierce attack.
Chris stood motionless, his expression calm and composed.
Just as the five threads were about to reach him, he slowly raised his hand.
"Mirror Repel!"
Suddenly, a transparent mirror appeared diagonally in front of him, shielding him.
Boom...
Before the threads even touched the mirror, they were repelled, flying back into the air.
Rumble—
The threads slammed into the ground, causing a loud explosion, sending dust everywhere and carving deep scars into the earth.
Seeing the damage on the ground, everyone around couldn't help but gasp.
"No wonder he's a Warlord. Even a casual attack packs that much power."
Betty took a puff of her cigarette, a rare serious expression on her face.
Baccarat tucked a strand of crimson hair behind her ear and smiled.
"The Warlord title isn't just for show."
"But no matter how strong he is, he's still no match for Chris. I believe that."
The Sweetheart Queen nodded in agreement.
"Of course. Our captain is the strongest man alive."
Burgess burst into laughter.
"Just like the captain said, this guy fights using threads."
Lafitte nodded slightly with a small smile.
"Well, his Devil Fruit is the String-String Fruit from the Paramecia class, so of course he attacks with threads."
At this point, Doflamingo slightly curled his fingers, his hand twitching like it was dancing.
"Repel, huh?"
"Looks like you ate the Paramecia-class Repel-Repel Fruit."
Doflamingo sneered, mocking him.
"Kid, you ate such a trash Devil Fruit. You're doomed to never be strong."
"If I remember right, the last user of the Repel-Repel Fruit got killed by a mountain bandit."
"Who would've thought that this garbage fruit, gone for hundreds of years, would show up again—and be eaten by a brat like you."
"I actually feel sorry for you. Fufufufufu~~"
Chris wasn't surprised Doflamingo knew his Devil Fruit's identity.
After all, this guy was a Celestial Dragon and an underworld boss. He had obviously seen the Devil Fruit encyclopedia.
"Doflamingo, let me tell you something."
Chris stood with arms folded, speaking calmly:
"Villains often die from talking too much!"
"Kid, you're really good at preaching, aren't you?"
Doflamingo covered his face, looking utterly deranged.
"I'm so angry, I actually laughed. Fufufufufu..."
"Bullet String!"
Suddenly, Doflamingo flicked his right index finger.
A nearly invisible thread shot out like lightning from his fingertip—firing straight at Chris...
