Chapter 7 - Consequences of portal

As keshav has cut the very rules of reality the portal was permanent unless someone like Jasmine close it with her power

Then keshav said "It was crazy to have system and dungeon appear today"

Jasmine said confused "What do you mean appear today. Didn't system and dungeons appear 150 years ago"

"Huh? What are you talking about?" Keshav replied, his confusion mirroring hers. "System and dungeons have existed for as long as human civilization. I learned about it in school." Jasmine said confidently

Behind them the portal keshav had open was still there as jasmine had not yet closed it.

"Lets match our memories"

Jasmine and Keshav both sat down on the couch, their minds still buzzing from the day's events. The portal that Keshav had opened was still visible, its edges shimmering with a faint glow. They knew they had to sort out their conflicting memories.

Keshav broke the silence, his voice calm and composed. "Alright, let's start then."

They both leaned back, taking a moment to collect themselves and clear their minds. This was going to be a crucial conversation that could potentially reveal something groundbreaking.

Jasmine took a deep breath and started. "Okay, so let's start from the beginning. When do you think the system and dungeons appeared on earth?"

Keshav thought for a moment, his brows furrowing slightly. "As far as I remember, it appeared today."

Jasmine looked at him, her eyes wide with confusion. "Today?" she repeated, her voice tinged with disbelief. "How can that be? I learned in history classes that the system and dungeons appeared 150 years ago."

Jasmine and Keshav quickly took out their smartphones and started frantically searching for information online. Their fingers flew over the screens as they scoured news articles, Wikipedia pages, and history websites.

They checked multiple websites, news outlets, and even history books available online. All the information pointed towards one conclusion – Jasmine was right. The system and dungeons had indeed appeared 150 years ago.

"How is this possible" keshav exclaimed

Then he said while looking at still open portal "Lets go back for a bit."

Jasmine looked at the portal warily but nodded in agreement. They got up from the couch and approached the swirling maw that Keshav has created. With a sense of trepidation, they stepped through the shimmering gateway.

Reality warped around them as they passed through the portal, the world becoming distorted and fluid. Suddenly, they found themselves back in the exact spot they had left only moments ago. The gym they had visited briefly, the computer they had used to check news - everything remained the same.

"This is weird," Jasmine said, her voice tinged with confusion. "It's like we've gone back in time."

Keshav than asked "now when do you remember system and dungeons appeared "

Jasmine looked around, still a bit discombobulated from the strange experience of traveling through the portal. "It was today. But why when we were on other side of portal, I said 150 years ago. We even checked the internet."

Keshav's eyes widened as he processed her words. "Wait, so what you're saying is that when we're on the other side of the portal, you remember differently when the system and dungeons appeared?" he asked.

Jasmine hesitantly said "yes" then continued

"Lets confirm again on internet."

Nodding, they once again took out their phones and accessed the internet. The search results were the different from before, firmly stating that the system and dungeons had appeared today. Confused, they looked up at each other, both their faces reflecting their bewilderment.

"This is bizarre," Jasmine said, her voice tinged with a hint of unease. "Why do we remember different information on each side of the portal?"

Keshav said "only you not me. I remembered clearly"

Jasmine was confused why she remembered something different. Then it hit her . "Wait a minute," she said, her mind racing to make sense of it all, "do you think it has something to do with the portal? Like, could it be messing with our memories when we go through it?"

Keshav said "What if its some parallel world on the other side of portal I opened!!"

Jasmine's mind whirled at the possibility. "A parallel world?" she repeated, her voice filled with wonder. "You mean like an alternate universe? That's... that's incredible."

Kshav replied "Yes. Maybe that is why when we checked internet in that side of portal we got different information than this side."

Jasmine's thoughts raced as she contemplated the implications. "So if it truly is a parallel world, does that mean there could be infinite versions of ourselves living out different lives in different realities?"

Keshav "Its scary to think." Then he looked at still opened portal and said "Its not closing on its on. Jasmine use your power to close it first."

Jasmine, though still reeling from the possibility of a parallel world, focused her mind on closing the portal. She closed her eyes and visualized the gateway sealing itself shut. A faint glow emanated from her hands as she used her power to stabilize the fabric of space.

Slowly, the portal began to close, the shimmering edges contracting until it finally disappeared, leaving the air strangely undisturbed.

"It's done," Jasmine said, opening her eyes and letting out a sigh of relief. "The portal is closed."

After thinking for a bit Keshav said with determination "I won't try to make portal again with my skill untill we understand what happened just now."

Jasmine nodded, understanding his cautious approach. "That's probably wise," she agreed. "Until we know more about the implications of opening a portal, it's best not to take any unnecessary risks. We need to proceed carefully."

Keshav asked "But the question is after passing through portal, why only your memories got rewritten according to that world not mine as well?"

Jasmine thought for a moment, trying to piece together a possible explanation. "Maybe there's something about the nature of my unique skill that made me susceptible to the memory wipe," she mused. "It could be that my skill is tied to my consciousness, and when we cross over universes, my consciousness adjusts to the one in that universe. But yours stays the same?"

Keshav also thought for a bit before saying "Maybe its my skill that protected my memory or maybe because I opened the portal."

"It could be," Jasmine agreed, considering the possibilities. "Your skill is all about manipulating and cutting through space. Perhaps it has some sort of protective effect on your mind, allowing you to remember things consistently across universes."

"It could be any reason or it could be something that we had not thought of" Keshav said frustratingly

"Yes, it's all speculation at this point," Jasmine admitted. "We need more information and understanding before we can confidently come to any conclusions."
