Chapter 13 - Players Association

They finally reached the office, a nondescript building that was surrounded by a small crowd of people trying to gain access. Keshav and Jasmine exchanged a look, bracing themselves for the long wait.

They waited in line, listening to the hushed conversations around them. People were speculating about the dungeons and the System, their voices tinged with both fear and hope. Soon, they were at the front of the line, standing before a harried-looking security guard.

The security guard looked up as they approached, his expression tired but alert. "Names?" he barked out, his voice gruff.

They gave their names and showed their IDs, waiting as the security guard checked their details on a tablet. After a few moments, he nodded, satisfied. "You're registered," he said, his voice slightly less gruff than before. "Head inside."

They nodded their thanks and entered the building. The inside was just as nondescript as the outside, with plain walls and a sparse collection of furniture. A few other players were milling about, looking as lost and confused as they felt.

A middle-aged woman approached them, a pleasant smile on her face. "Welcome," she said, her voice warm and friendly. "I assume you two are looking to start your player journey."

They nodded, still trying to take in their surroundings. The woman gestured for them to follow her. "Come with me," she said, leading them towards a small room off to the side of the main area.

The room was bare except for a few chairs and a table. The woman motioned for them to sit down. "Before we begin, I'll need to ask you a few questions," she said, pulling out a stack of forms from a drawer.

They nodded, settling into their seats. The woman asked them about their basic details, their skill levels and their previous experience with dungeons. Then she handed them each a pen and a form.

"This is the agreement form," she said. "You'll need to sign it to confirm that you agree to be part of the 'Player Association' and adhere to their rules and regulations."

They skimmed through the form, making sure they understood every single clause. They had already decided to not disclose their real skills, so they made sure to keep their answers vague and ambiguous.

Finally they came to the end of the form and signed it. They handed it back to the woman, hoping she wouldn't notice any inconsistencies in their answers.

The woman took back the form and scanned through it, checking their answers and making sure everything was in order. After a few moments, she looked up at them, her expression unreadable. "Well," she said, her voice neutral, "Everything seems to be in order. You're officially registered with the 'Player Association' now."

She handed them each a small ID card. "Keep this with you at all times," she said. "It'll give you access to the dungeons and other Player Association resources."

They took the ID cards, holding them tightly in their hands. This was it. They were officially part of the 'Player Association', and with it, they had taken the first step towards their journey as players.

They thanked the woman and asked any dungeons nearby and how can we get info about them easily and are there any resources in dungeon that can sell for money

The woman provided them with a list of nearby dungeons and suggested accessing the Player Association's website and/or forum for more dungeon information. Then she apologised and said "As dungeons have only appeared for 1 day, no valuable resources are identified yet except nexus stone, but no player is selling it yet as they improve skills except for those that urgently need money. But government is collecting samples from dungeon at low price for research. If any resource in dungeon is identified players will be informed of its price through Player Association's form."

They nodded their thanks, and with that, they left the office, their minds swirling with information. They had learned a lot, but they knew they had only scratched the surface. There was so much more to learn, so much more to explore.
