(Ton pov)
As Magdala and the kids left for Oakhill I let the magic essence fill my whole body and activated my healing factor. I watch as every wound on my body slowly healed, it took a little longer then fifteen minutes before I was back to full health.
"Bahaha it seemes I do have grown weaker since my younger days." I laughed out into the the now empty house.
I knew Magdala understood I lied to her when I said that my healing is not as good as it used to be, but it kind of was the truth. Sure I could heal my wounds but it was not to the point of being able to heal any wounds almost instantly.
Sure our little squabble in the woods was nothing compared to what happened when we were younger, but I had to be alone today.
I had to find the Crown prince and confirm all the rumors I have gathered in Olaf's the last couple of weeks. And if I had to do what needed to be done, I had to be alone.
The thing about Oakhill was that it was the last free settlement for non humans such as Dromos and beastkin in kingdom of Luteria. Even though the races that have a human like appearance such as elf and dwarfs were free they still had their own problems of discrimination.
If you would go to any other place around the kingdom there would be a lot of beastkin or dromos enslaved. This has been the case for the last decade or so since a specific organisation had grown more in power and gain the support of the crown prince.
The reason why Oakhill was still a somewhat of a safe haven for other races was because of it's location.
Oakhill was located deep in the Twisting woods and close to the borders of The beaskin republic.
The last five years the crown prince had been living in Oakhill. The public reason is that he and his head wife had their first born and wanted a safe place for their child to grow up. But there were other rumors, darker rumors.
"Geuss it's time to meet that pompous idiot once again." I went downstairs to the armory and got my old battle-ax. It's size was as comical as every. It was a double edged blade with the ax part the sixe of my torso and it's shaft as long as my upper body. It weighed probably more then my own body.
"It's been awhile partner. Let's go out hunting for some big game for once." I put on a thick coat made from the leather of a hydra I slained a few years ago before we settled in Oakhill.
-----
I tracked through the Twisting woods and reached the road that led to the capital city of Luteria, Crown city. Arter awhile I found some tracks from a drawn horse carriage and what seemed to be a small army of soldiers.
"Perfect!"
I followed the road for a bit at a high speed and slowed down when the tracks became more fresh. I then turned to the woods and quickly hunted down a thunder moose swung it's large carcas over my shoulders and ran through the forest until I found what I was looking for.
I got out of the forest and onto the road where a large group of soldiers and three horse drawn carriages clearly belonging to nobles.
"Halt! State your business stranger!" A heavy armored knight riding in the front yelled out as soon as they spotted me.
"Oh I'm sorry, I just caught myself some big game and was on my way back home to butcher it." My face was covered by a large hood and from it's depth I inspected the knights that was now pointing their bows and lances against me.
There was a mix of male and female knights, but one thing was clear, they were no newbie knights.
"You were hunting so far from the nearest village?" The lead knight asked. The voice of knight sounded familiar but I had no plans on revealing my identity.
"I have been tracking this bastard since early this morning. I was lucky to have caught it all together. You never know what you could encounter so deep out in these woods." I said with a confident tone.
"Hmm that might be the case but... isn't that a lightning moose?" The lead knight asked as he noticed what I was carrying over my shoulders.
Murmurs erupted from the knights behind the lead knight. "Don't they need like a small platoon of soldiers or at least ten A ranked adventures to hunt one of those?" The knights kept talking to one another about the dangers of a lightning moose.
"Are you an adventurer stranger?" The lead knight asked.
I put down the moose and gave a deep bow. "I am sorry for not giving my introduction earlier. My name is Ronald, a woodcutter and hunter by trade. I have not registered with the guild as I have never left these woods before."
The knight looked at me for a bit before he was about to signal the rest of the knights to keep moving. But before he had the chance to a voice was heard from one of the carriages.
"Whats the hold up Klint? Why have we stopped?" A man in his early forties dressed in expensive clothing looked out of the window of one of the carriages. Expensive jewelry decorated his neck and fingers.
Klint the lead knight turned around to address the man. "Your majesty! You shouldn't leave the carriage!"
The nobleman who Klint addressed as your majesty stepped out of the horse drawn carriage and stepped through the crowed of knights.
"Who might this stranger be?" The royal man asked Klint.
"This is Roland. A local hunter and woodcutter." Klint said as he bowed his head deep in showed respect.
I had followed Klints movement and was now bowing deeply in front of a man I already knew all to well. Erik Thomas Luteria The V, crown prince of The Luterian kingdom and the reason Magdala Lilly and Bellz hadn't left their homestead since now.
"It's an honor to meet your majesty." I said with reverence in my voice.
Erik stepped forward to give me an inspection when something I hadn't counted happened.
"Father?" A girl around six years of age stepped out of the carriage. She had black hair put in a thick braid and dressed in a expensive dress. On her head was a silver tiara.
"Eliza! Stay in the cart." Erik said as he turned his gaze back to me. But his daughter Eliza was not done.
"Father why are you bothering this poor man? Like Klint said, he was only out hunting."
Eriks offical reason to being in Oakhill was to find a safe place for his first wife to birth his child. That child was Eliza, this much I knew.
The second reason that was spreading as a rumor was that he was trying to find a way to get Oakhill officialy under Luterias banner.
This was something that I had to prevent to protect my family. I was willing to even kill Erik if that would bring safety to my family. But with Eriks daughter here I couldn't bring myself to do it.
Even if Erik as a person had a twisted ideology of humans being a superior species and should rule the world with evry one else being beneath them. I was not willing to lower myself to being a child murderer.
I had two plans when I got here one was to find out more about Erik and his plans. Second if what I found out was dangerous for my childrens future, I was willing to commit regicide.
But with his daughter here every plan I had got changed. Of what I had heard so had the mother and daughter left a few days ago and this morning was the day Erik was leaving flr the Crown city.
"Shit"
(Eliza pov)
It has been six ywars since I woke up in this body. After I meet with Thor and an Angel called Gabriel I was reincarnated as the child of Erik, the crown prince of a kingdom named Luteria.
And truth be told, so far. I hate it.
I miss my old research papers, my old life. I miss Linus...
The last thing I felt before the grip of death took me in it's embrace was the heat of Linus body as he slowly got colder and colder in my arms. The pain and anger I felt as he died was unbearable. I don't know what happened to Max, he probably also died.
The only hope that I have in this life is that I have sworn to myself that I will find a way to get back to Linus and Max. Nothing is going to stop me.
But one thing that I have realized since gaining this new chance in life. My father has a lot of secrets and this country is twisted.
I only met my mother for the first week of my life, I don't know what happened after that. My father since the day I was able to speak tried to install in me the idea that we humans was better then every other race. And that the races of beastkin and dromos was freaks of nature that was meant to seeve us.
It sounded all to familiar to my former life...
"I have been given this new life and I have two goals. To stop my father from whatever he is planning and to find Linus and Max if they too have been reincarnated in this world." This was my only thought I repeated every night before bed.
But right now my thoughts was on this stranger that had stopped the carriage and was staring at me. Something felt off, his eyes that barley could see beneath his hood seemed devoid of emotions. Like he was staring at a pray he had been stalking for a long while.
"Hmm...well we have to keep moving if we want to get back to the Capital in time." My father said as he turned around and took me by the hand to guide me back into the carriage. "I would recommend that you move stranger unless you are asking for trouble." He said to the hooded man before we went back into the carriage.
Soon after that I felt the carriage starting to move, but something about this hooded man told me that this was not the last I would see of him.
