I stared in shock at the strange girl in front of me. She had similar features as Bellz but was more softer and feminine then him.
With a stutter I replied to her greeting "H...h...hello..."
"Finally... someone that will talk to me..." She ahd a soft calming voice. She sat down at the desk chair and looked at me, studied me, observed me with her pale blue eyes. "So...who are you?" She finally asked me.
"What?"
"I know you are his sister, that much I know. But what's your name? No, wait...Lilly?"
I gave a nod and sat on the bed in silence as the girl continued. "Some of his memories has been appearing in my mind, or at least I think it is. Yesterday I or day before I didn't really understand this language, but now when I woke up again I understood it clearly."
She looked over at the books again. "Bellz right? That is your brothers name?" I nodded again. I was to afraid to talk. "Well Bellz seemed to have been trying to read, I was thinking of doing the same. But then you woke up Lilly."
I felt my heart beating faster and faster. I gathered my courage and asked her.
"Who are you? What are you?"
She looked down at her hands and over at me and then thought for a bit before answering. "My own memories are hazy, I only know my name. The rest is just fragmented memories of a long time past by. My name is Urpie. And if look into Bellz memories I know that I am...no that we are something called Dromos." She looked at me and gave a weak smile. "If I understand it correctly, I am a Dromos Aqvata...but why I am like this, why we are like this...I don't know."
"What do you mean?"
"I sometimes wake up like a thought in the back of Bellz mind, we are stuck together in this body."
I thought for a bit and asked her something I felt was important. "Are you going to hurt my brother?"
She looked at me with a surprised look. "Ehy would I want to hurt him? If my gut feeling is correct then if Bellz grts hurt then so do I."
A huge feeling of relief washed over me. "So...then what do you want?" I asked her as she looked out the window observing the moon that was now showing it's own two smaler moons that circle itself.
"The moon look so different..." She said under her breath. "I want to have a conversation with Bellz. But he won't listen to me..."
"What do you mean? Have you been trying to talk to him?"
She nodded her head and then explained how she had first came to two days ago when we were at Oakhill. And how she had tried to talk to him during yesterdays training session.
"I think that it would be best for us to work together. We share a body after all. I was thinking of writing on a piece of paper a message but neither of us can write or read yet."
I sat there in my brother's room in silence thinking about this girl Urpie. She didn't seem like a threat, she just felt lost and maybe scared of what was happening to her. And if Bellz and Urpie had the same body doesn't that mean...
I walk up to her and embraced her in my arms. She looked at me startled before she accepted my embrace when I said. "Urpie...this has been a fantastic night. I just found out that I have a younger sister..."
"Thank you..." Her bangs hid her face as she looked down, but I could tell that she was smiling.
"I will help you convince Bellz to talk to you."
"Thank you, Lilly!" She gave me a hug before we returned to the bed to talk some more.
She told me that she doesn't seem to have that much energy to be in control. She didn't know why. Only when Bellz was deep asleep did she have to primary control of the body and that was also when the body became female.
After we talked through the night about everything and nothing I really felt like I had gain a little sister.
I don't know when but sometime we fell asleep and the next morning I had something important to do...
-----
(Bellz pov)
As I woke up I noticed that Lilly was still asleep. She was hugging me and didn't seem to really let go of me.
"She most have really been exhausted from yesterday's event."
I slowly and carefully removed her arms and got out of bed.
I got dressed and headed downstairs finding mother sitting in the library reading some book. I tried to read what the covered said but the only thing I could figure out was the name Yarklan and chaos.
"Good morning mother." I said as I sat down next to her looking at the pages. "What are you reading?"
Mother looked up from the book and gave a faint smile. "I am reading about the god Yarklan and the different things connected to him."
"Why? Is it because of me?"
She thought for a bit before she stroke my hair and said. "Maybe, but it is always good to freshen your memory when it comes knowledge. Always remember that knowledge is more powerful then the most powerful of mages or warriors."
I agreed with her on that point. Knowledge is always a powerful tool. That is why the aristocrats back in my former life used to restrict the farmers and population in ancient times.
"So what's for breakfast today mother?"
She closed the book and put me in my lap. "Your father went out to hunt this morning in hope of catching some rabbits so he won't be joining us. But I was thinking of making some porridge today."
We walked over to the kitchen to prepare for breakfast. As I was making the table mother asked me about Lilly and explained that she had been sleeping in my room and was still sleeping so we decided that we would let her sleep as she was probably exhausted from the training.
After breakfast we headed back to the library were mother was now going to explain to me what instinctive spells were.
"So as you have probably seen when Lilly started to try casting her first spells she was muttering something?"
I nodded as I sat in a chair listening to her explanation.
"There are five types of degrees of spell casting. First degree is the vocal spells were you use an incantation to manifest your will. Second is the vocal in combination of hand movements. Third is Vocal hand movements and the imagination combined. And the highest degree removes the vocal part and hand movements and only uses imagination or the will of the caster. We will be going into more detail next year when we are really starting your magic studies. But then you have the fith degree of casting or as some scholar argue the lowest degree. Instinctive spell casting." She walked over to a candle and pointed at it as it lit up.
"Instinctive spells are just that, you use the magic by pure instinct. Some say that it is the lowest level of casting as the caster doesn't normally have an understanding of why and how the spell works. But, if the caster reaches a high enough level and has a good understanding of their instinct...well..."
Mother walked over to the window and pointed at a tree at the edge of the woods. A red dot left her finger and the tree incinerated in seconds.
"That was the same spell I used to light that candle called 'flare'. One of the most simple spells in the fire elemental arsenal. Instinctive spells is just as it sounds spells you can instinctively cast. But remember that with time it can become a great weapon."
As she finished her explanation we heard Lilly come walking down the stairs.
"Good morning!" Mother greeted Lilly as she walked into the library. "How was your sleep?"
Lilly looked at me then over to mother and said "I sleeped great! I got a sister now." She said with a proud look.
"Sister?" Mother asked her.
Suddenly the feeling I usually got when the voice appeard. But no voice this time. Lilly instead got quite and then said. "I just had a dream of having a sister." She finally answered.
Mother just laughed and said. "You never know, maybe you might get a sister one day."
Lilly had her breakfast and then we headed to the training hall. Mother had said that father left instructions of simple strenght training and stamina training he wanted us to complete before he returned.
On a piece of paper was pictures drawn that explaines what we had to do. It was mostly repeats from yesterday with some extra exercises put in.
As we kept doing our pushups I felt the effect from the spell 'inner heat'. Everything went smoothly thanks to the spell when I saw that Lille was sitting to the side looking at me.
"What's wrong Lilly?"
She thought for a bit before she said. "You need to talk to her."
"...what?"
"The girl that's been trying to talk to you. You need to talk to her."
"Haha...you are not funny Lilly. What are you talking about?"
"Bellz, she is talking about me." The voice was back but itnored it.
"She is talking to you now right?" Lilly said as she walked up to me. "You need to talk to her, she is real."
"Please Bellz...I have talk to you..." The voice inside kept pleading to me. But I refused to talk to it. It wasn't there it wasn't real.
"Please talk to her." Lilly pleaded to me too.
It felt as if the ground beneath me was about to collapse. Was this real what was happening infront of me?
"Please...my name is Urpie...I was born in the northern parts of Sweden I am a Sami... please talk to me..."
I sat down on the ground and covered my ears rocking back and forth repeating again and again. "This isn't real this isn't real this isn't real."
"I think...from parts of your memory...I am the reason you died."
I stopped my movement and then directed my thoughts inwards towards that feeling the voice gave me. "What? What do you mean you are the reason?"
The mark of snowflakes on my hand started to burn as it suddenly took a different shape. It started to become a mix of snowflakes and flames and the voice inside became clearer then ever.
"Hello Bellz...it is finally nice to talk to you..."
