Chapter 11 - chapter 3: Part 3

-Sukuna-

Sorcerers these days seemed to be some obsessive maggots. They crawl about like worms, and it seemed their habits didn't change since even the Heian period. As I gazed upon another sorcerer that seemed to have joined the battle with me and the one called Megumi. 'Thomas Evans' I thought as I remembered his name as he introduced himself to the brat. He seemed silent within me, and I took full advantage of him as a hostage.

The battle was initiated by Megumi as he dashed forward with his shikigami Nue outside. As he tried to strike me with his fist enhanced by cursed energy, I was able to swiftly dodge and catch his fist. I deflected it with ease and struck my own punched. I then felt something grab me as I was brought up into the air by a snake.

"Orochi" said Megumi as he made a hand sign that resembled a snake. His other shikigami, Nue, was seemingly charging up electricity to strike me with. I grinned and whispered "Dismantle" as the snake seemingly blew up into pieces as I landed on the ground. Nue then seemingly discharged its technique but I dodged it. I sent off a dismantle as the bird dodged it out of instinct.

"Heh, what a novel thing" I said outloud as I readied my cursed technique, yet I then felt a flex of cursed energy that seemed to reach above my current level. I felt it flow into the world as I turned around to see the source. It was Thomas, and he was touching the ground. I felt some danger as the ground seemed to turn into liquid as they transformed into something that resembled cursed tools.

He flung them at me as I dodged and noticed that they seemed to follow me around. 'His cursed technique?' I thought as I activated my own technique and began to hack at the blades. My technique did some damage but they were quite touch, as if they were touched by the divine protection of the gods.

The items then seemingly broke into pieces, as they collapsed to the ground, broken into a fine dust that was seemingly washed away in the rain. "Itadori!" shouted Thomas as he rushed up towards me, and he struck my body, well the body of this brat, and I was sent flying away. In order to not sustain damage I enhanced the body with cursed energy and was able to get on my feet with little issue.

'Damn, what was that!?' I screamed inside my head as I slashed at him with my own technique, but I saw a slight transparent shimmer around his body. 'A barrier?' I thought as he brought his fist down on the ground below me and shattered it as bits of debris began to fly. He then seemingly punched the debris as It transformed into tiny projectiles that flew towards me with unbelievable speed.

I enforced my body with cursed energy as I deflected these projectiles away from me, using my own technique to break them down so their easier to destroy. It was quite irritating that these projectiles could resist my techniques. 'Why doesn't he reveal his technique? With its power he should get a boost with doing so?' I thought as many sorcerers chose to reveal their techniques, initiating a binding vow by doing so.

'Does he not know?' was a thought that began to creep into my mind, as it was so common for sorcerers to divulge their hand in exchange for a boost in power. 'If he's a novice, that means he only knows his innate technique, and maybe a barrier' I thought as I initiated my dismantle technique and destroyed a good portion of the surrounding area to blind him.

I dashed away, trying to get away from him when I felt the hum and thrum of thunder above me. I slashed at the bird while Megumi began to try and land punches infused with cursed energy. He landed some good blows but was ultimately knocked away. It was then that I sensed something in the air, it was as if the rain seemed to stop and rivers were rushing about.

It was then that I saw, a wave of water crashing into me, smacking me against a building. The water seemed to gather around me, trying to squeeze me under the pressure of its immensity. It was quite vexing how I was losing so much to someone who was most likely a novice to the jujutsu world! I activated my technique and the water was split, freeing me from its grasp in its entirety.

It surrounded me as my technique kept it from getting close. I was getting agitated, and I was even on the verge of activating my domain expansion. In fact, I wanted to pummel this sorcerer with my divine flames. I jumped out of the surrounding waters and landed a couple feet away. Seeing as he was leaving Megumi unguarded, I dashed to him hoping to see him do something special, something worth my time.

As I tried to dash to Megumi I felt the oncoming rush of something, and as I turned to look around I found spears of stone following me about. I destroyed them, targeting certain places to take advantage of a weak point. Sensing an opening in the attackers defense, I cast a powerful slash at him, knocking him a good ways away from the area, leaving me alone with Megumi.

As I stood before the defeated boy, I felt I had to inquire about something. "Why fight? Why try saving him?" I asked him as he looked at me, his eyes dazed with the feelings of defeat and inequality in his mind. "I guess, I fight for him. A man who wanted to save others who I felt needed to be abandoned" said Megumi, and I felt my hold on the brat slip. I could feel I was being pushed to the edge and I entered the landscape of our shared mind.

-Thomas-

I emerged from the rubble of the building I was sent into. The attack did not affect me, but it made me annoyed and irritated. As I emerged from the rubble, I noticed a distinct lack of Yuji's, no Sukunas, presence. Fearing the worst, I headed towards Megumi with a quickness. It didn't take me long to approach Megumi's location, and infront of him was the collapsed form of Itadori.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that he was in mental distress. I fumbled for my cellphone and put in a quick call to Gojo. "Satoru" I said as I heard the call connect to the other side. "Yo what's up" he said. I felt the words catch in my throat. My silence seemed to worry him as his voice became rather serious. "What happened?" he asked in an uncharacteristic tone of voice.

"Yuji is....." I didn't have the heart to relay the words to Satoru. I could feel silence on the end of it, and I could feel a flicker of understanding from him. "Can you bring him to jujutsu high?" he asked me. "Of course" I said as he instructed me to meet with Shoko at the entrance of the high school.

I took the body into the vault, preserving it in their with the vaults powers. I then took Megumi over my shoulder, his stamina seemingly empty as I used the vault and the store space to send us to the front of Jujutsu High. Meeting us there was Shoko, who looked surprise at our sudden appearance.

"Oh, I didn't expect you guys for a while" she said in her somewhat monotone voice and began walking off. After I delivered Megumi to his room, I followed her to where ever she was going. It was a medical room for check ups and sorcerers who were injured on missions. Satoru was there, and he seemed to be in a state of contemplation.

"I'm sorry Gojo" said Ijichi. I wondered why he apologized when he wasn't at fault for what happened. "It's not your fault, its the fault of those damned higher ups" said Gojo, his eyes still closed to the outside world. "It was intentional" said Gojo suddenly, and I seemingly had some very bad thoughts brewing in my mind.

"What do you mean?" I asked him as he looked at me with a piercing gaze and said " The enemy was special grade. The target was people who weren't even confirmed alive, something I wouldn't have sent the kids for". It then suddenly dawned on me. The higher ups he seemed to disdain, his attitude non-traditional for a profession who seemed to be old and timeless.

"I had to pull strings to get a stay of execution for him, and then he somehow gets involved with a mission that's above his level?" said Gojo and his face was still calm, yet I could feel a simmering rage beneath him. I had a feeling if we let him loose, he would probably march to jujutsu hq and begin a slaughter that would shake the entire world.

"Then what if the others died? Icing on the cake I believe" said Gojo. "But when the mission was planned, there was no indication of special grade" murmured Ijichi though everyone could here him plain and clear. "Maybe I should slaughter them, those old bastards" said Gojo, and everyone could tell there was no threat behind his words, only action that was waiting to happen.

Shoko began to unveil his corpse of the white sheet covering him. A gaping hole could be seen on his chest and the wound didn't look like it was made with intention of clean and painless. Then again, the perpetrator was Sukuna, someone who was rumored to even eat the bodies of the living when he was alive.

"Your being emotional for once" said Shoko as she arrived dressed for work. She was wearing a doctors coat and gloves as if she was ready for an operation. "Of course, Im a nice guy who cares for his students" said Gojo. "Besides, don't pick on Ijichi too much. He is caught between us and the higher ups" said Shoko and Ijichi looked hopeful.

"You act like I give a damn" said Gojo and Ijichi deflated. "You know I have a lousy personality" said Gojo with Ijichi replying with an agreement. After a witty comeback, Gojo seemingly continued with his thought. "You know why I teach students? It's because I want to reset the jujutsu world" said Gojo, and with the current situation I could agree with him.

"I could just massacre them, but someone would just replace them. That's why I need to foster the next generation with my idealism" said Gojo. "To that end I'll even assign my missions to them" said Gojo and Ijichi looked at him as if to say 'Are you sure you are not just lazy'. "There all great, especially the third year Kinji Hikari and the second year Yuta Okkotsu" said Gojo. I recalled Yuta who looked like a sweet kid, someone not cut out for this rough world.

"Hey you guys, Im about to get started. You guys just gonna watch?" asked Shoko as something happened that seemed to be akin to a miracle. Rising from the operating table was someone who was supposed to be dead, his heart gouged out from his chest with clean and precise application of power. I felt my heart stop for just a moment, the heart beginning a fast beat.

"Yo! We're are my clothes?" asked Yuji as Shoko stared at him with a blank stare. "I'm to old for this" said Shoko as Gojo said "Your only in your twenties". Gojo then congratulated him on his return, and I could see the light of an idea in his mind. "I guess I have to change the report" said Ijichi as Gojo advised him to keep Yuji as reported as dead. "I have an idea. I can train him up for the next Kyoto goodwill event" said Gojo. I nodded until I heard "You will also be participating".

Im sorry, What!

[A/N: Hope you guys like the chapter. I had a hard time writing the action scene and I hope you guys enjoyed it. I have a question thought, If I write another fanfic, what would be good to write about? I had an idea about reincarnation into another world with a Nasuverse system or a person reincarnated with a list of perks or another characters powers. Who knows what might happen, anyhow have a good day guys!]
