A few feet away from them someone with curly, long blue hair, nice royal like armor with all sorts of engravings, purple eyes, and a red cape flowing behind their beautiful silver armor could be seen.
It was a woman and the crowd appeared to be speaking a name of some sort. "I can't believe a hero like you is here!" A villager says with excitement in their voice.
A hero this soon? Definitely best to avoid any sort of attention so maybe I should blend in with the crowd. I don't know if this hero will notice anything off about me or not so this is the best possible approach.
"Mason let's head over here instead. I see something I want to check out." Aria says while interrupting his thoughts.
She had grabs his arm and drags him over to check out some of the farm animals on the other side of the village. "I haven't really seen animals much. They're so adorable!" Aria exclaims with excitement in her voice.
I haven't really seen many animals myself so this is kind of nice to see but I hope this doesn't make things look weird. Being away from a crowd that surrounds a hero kind of makes you stick out.
It won't matter I guess since we are just traveling through the village to begin with.
Footsteps and the slight sound of armor shifting could be heard just barely behind them. "Travelers, a rare thing to see in a village like this." A woman's voice spoke from behind them.
This is why I was worried about moving away from the crowd to begin with but it's okay, we can easily deal with this. "Yeah, we wanted to travel the continent." Mason responds while turning around.
The moment I turned I was faced with the woman from before, she truly was beautiful but this was a hero. Someone who probably wouldn't hesitate to abide by the laws of the world.
Killing me would be a part of her job in the end of the day.
The woman ponders for a moment before responding but then a slight smile grows on her face. "It's a bit dangerous to be traveling right now you know, a war is currently ongoing." She speaks while observing his face.
She looks like she might be watching for any changes in my expression to what she's saying. I didn't know a war was going on and Lucy definitely didn't mention one so is this some sort of test?
"We're both quite powerful, plus we have family deeper in the continent that we want to make sure are safe. So seeing everything along the way is a nice bonus." Aria chimes in with a confident tone in her voice.
Will this hero actually believe what she's saying? Also she's really good with coming up with something on the spot but I hope this isn't going to be a thing that she wants to see for herself.
Having to prove I'm powerful isn't going to go in my favor.
Her gaze shifts over towards Aria. "Understandable, family is always important so just be careful on your travels. The beastmen aren't the nicest towards humans." She warns while turning away from us.
We actually made it through that encounter with no issues, I'm actually quite surprised.
Boom!!! Crackle!! An explosion went off near one of the houses and fire began to spread. "Shit! Get out of here you two." She yells while running towards the house.
Beastmen? People that resemble rabbits, bear and such right. I didn't expect them to be at war with humans but it doesn't sound like it's going well.
If I'm going to prove myself then I can't just let this slide by and run, wait no I need to run. I've got no magical abilities to help against these guys so it wouldn't be smart for me to help.
"Mason why are you still standing there?" Aria asks with a bit of worry in her voice.
Thump. Thump. My hearts racing and I can see the enemies approaching rapidly but that's quite a lot of them. She's one hero, I don't know how strong she is or how strong they are.
He formed a fist and began to run in without a second thought. I'm stupid for this, I really am stupid for this but I can't let someone handle this all on their own.
If I want to change the world then I need to start by protecting people around me without hesitation. A legendary magus would protect people, a hero protects people, and so do soldiers.
I'll protect these people, even without the ability to use magic.
As he began to run he saw the hero fighting against them and she appeared to be doing just fine until the number of them begin to overwhelm her. Starting to see her take more and more hits from each one.
Hyup. I can do this. As he leaps through the air he reaches one of the enemies attacking and brings his sword down to cut across it.
I've never truly drawn blood before and I don't know if I'll be able to kill these things or not but I won't let this hero die. Even if they were against me...
Slash!!! His blade cuts across one of the beastmen and before he could swing it toward another it gets grabbed mid swing. "Truly a stupid boy, who swings such things towards us without any fear!" The Man shouts at him.
"I won't let you hurt these innocent people." Mason responds while gritting his teeth.
He let's go of the sword and brings his fist towards the guy as it connects and sends him to the ground.
Thud. "Quite a punch you got there, where's the magic kid?" He questions while on the floor.
I'll have to give it everything I got, including the use of my device. I'm not sure what the outcome will be yet but this is the best I can do.
